So, on another forum for discussion about Addons. I popped the question: "Is there any steerable parachute out there. An example of what I am looking for is something like the 21vb Glider from OFP." I got one reply saying he made a steerable chute that can only be used in third person, otherwise the game would crash. So, I don't want something like that buggy. If you have never played OFP it is a parachute that can be opened at any point when your in the air, you can use it in 1st person/3rd, options are left/right/brakes. If u choose nothing you will fly in whatever direction you are pointing. If you turn right you'll make a long right turn. If you hit brakes you'll drift what ever way the wind is pushing. If you hit brakes and turn right it is a much sharper turn but when on brakes you decrease in altitude quicker. So, I hope someone will take up this challenge of making a steerable parachute, myself and about 20 other guys I know have been on the search and figured there isn't one out. Please someone take this up, it is worth it.

if you don't wat to fly it and just want to see it high in the sky... you don't need cockpit, you don't need any good textures, i guess you can even use 2nd,3rd distance lod for your addon. In this case you're right. But if you want flyable stuff... that's another deal, and poor ofp models won't be as good

sasyboy, sounds like you need to do some work on this before I make it an addon in a mission. If you can, you might want to un-pbo the 21vb Glider addon to give you some ideas. You might not be able to copy paste but should give you a better understanding. Maybe start asking some questions on the forums.

ghm... You mean generating normal from diffuse textures ? Results are wierd if you don't have psd souce with layers examples exact ones. let's put good ones in game and see if i'm right - then maybe i'll get my words back

@Miles Teg Once again - almost all _ofp_ ported model will look like crap in Arma. Yes, you can remake and update textures, but textures are 90% of addon work and i can't remember ofp addon with textures good enough to fit in arma. Can remember smth ? You are welcome to post models/textures here - putting them ingame to 'look at' is question of minutes I guess it will put the ddiscussion out of flaming a little You wonna play with crap ? Can i ask you why you moved to arma at all ? It's far not the best engine available atm and there're very little gameplay improvements if you compare it with ofp You wonna play the same in Arma as in OFP ? Why not just play ofp ? And if don't want to wait... there's vbs at least, if you got money to waste - buy it and forget about your problems with this game

Thank you very much. So, if I link a marker to a group, the group will either start where I placed them on map, or where the marker is. Correct? If this is true there is no need to use the Round Random 1; unless I want to put a bunch of individuals in one place or the other... ok thanks again -

Ok, thanks for that... Guy0 and Guy1 don't have waypoints they are stationary so I think the marker will work best. Can you please show me an example of this? Or explain a little more. -

This evening I would like to direct your attention on a new program. I had the idea to simply write a program which takes graphical and SAS data to create an island. I carried this idea for two years now and was finally able to finish it yesterday. The prototype created its first island and I would like to show you pictures of the program, but that wouldn't make much sense, because it's only a command line program. no. ay car or tank will have max water speed at around 20-30 kmph. You won't change it. Script movement if you want it to go faster -
examples ? rip it out of the mod - and let's see it's piece of cake to port it ingame just to 'look at'

Smoother animations could help ArmA.... I am pretty sure a wise person once said you can't make everyone happy though. I don't think the animation glitches are the issue. Although they would definately improve game play, I do not believe that will warrant PvP players from other games coming over here. Of course BIS is trying to please its customers. But, it can't make everyone happy. As stupid as it sounds, I still think the rigid animations adds suspense and makes it a lot more fun. BIS might have thought... since there are so many other games out there for CTF/TKOTH/TDM why not make something for the people that love coops. Is that outside of the realm of possibility? Like I said, smoother animations could help the game play out. I am glad to see people like Q and Wisper doing something about it. -
textures can be merged... but quality... anyway it will look bad i believe. You'll have to remap it and make new textures if you want to achieve good results

it's config mistake. i'm sure they'll solve it later. You can edit puma config or just make small pbo with cfgPatches entry needed
