Still only a Single CPU Engine. Until they fix that..... Just take a look at Mobile_Medic's comment. That is the game. One CPU.
Also there are still no ponds. Aliens still have taken all the furniture.
-
Annnnnddddd.... Your framerate just dropped to 0.........
Until they fix the engine to be properly multi-threaded....
-
Thank you for finally putting this on the SteamWorkShop. Makes things easier.
-
SteamWorkshop? Disservice? So your only concern about mods here in BI forum is that it didnt get on this bloody bullshit workshop? Just download it, there are serveral sources to get it from.I guess you hate BIS then? The SteamWorkshop is the only official tool. It helps make things easy for NEW and CURRENT players.
-
Is this ever going to be in the SteamWorkshop?
Very big disservice if not.

Is this on Steam Workshop?

Is this on the Steam Workshop?

Don't want anymore content. Just want 64bit or at least start using more than one CPU properly.
-
Look on the forums here on how to create a RAMDISK and dump all the .pbo's from the Addons directory into it. This is the best you can do if you are running x64 with tons of RAM.
-
an old bug since...ääähhh....armed assault: if you use trackir, aim to ironsight and look back, you will look into your own inner neck. That I don't mind. But they should knock out little things like that boat sound.
-
Did BIS/Steam fix the Workshop so there is no size limit now?
Be nice if all this cool stuff was there.
-
Nesting worked. Thanks for that find.
-
Ahh...... Nest the Addons folder.... Good find there. I will give it a whirl.
-
Changing it to @Addons still give the error message and adding it in the Parameters tab -> Mods: has no effect.
Please BI change this so we can use the RamDrive thru the launcher.
-
I don't know if that will work. It has always been with no @. I think the engine is hard coded to \Addons . You don't want the engine to load them twice.
I will try it when I get home.
-
It is not a @<Addon> folder. It is THE Addons folder. If you want to speed up your game get lots of Ram (I have 32GB.), create a 13-14GB Ramdisk, copy the Addons folder to the Ramdrive, make the first selection in the -mod parameter <Ramdrive letter>:\Addons.
Now you have the whole game in RAM. No more streaming from a Hard Drive or SSD (Yes. RAM is light years faster than your dumb SSD). Increase your view distance to MAX. No stuttering of LOD's. Even when flying. Smooth as silk. 10k view distance.
If you are not doing this then you aren't really playing ArmA. I have been doing this since ArmA 1.
You imagine if they switch the engine to 64bit???!!!!!!!!! The more RAM you had the more it could load into!!!!!
It gave me an error when I tried to pick it using the launcher. I just wanted to pick this folder on my RamDrive as the "First" mod.
-
Please add the ability to pick non-@ folders. Especially the Addons folder.
Reason: RAMDRIVE.
To speed up the game with the RAMDRIVE you copy the Addons folder to your RAMDRIVE and then the add it FIRST to your -mod line. To prove it works do the copy, rename the original Addons folder, change your -mod, start the game. Now all .pbo's load from super-fast ram instead of slow hdd/ssd. (Yes, RAM is light years faster than your SSD.)
Example .....-mod=g:\Addons;@weapons;....

When are you groups going to put stuff on the Workshop? You know you catch more flies with honey.

The DLC strategy outright calls it a trial run for the plans for the Helicopters and Markmen DLC, as Byku said.*cough* More likely because a bunch of the servers are not up to the v1.2 version (of Arma 3) that just came out on this day.Only if you bought the Supporter Edition.Anyone know how I can verify that I bought the Supporter Edition?
-
If I paid for that bundle when the game was Alpha do I have to pay for this? I thought buying that bundle I was buying EVERYTHING ArmA3 upfront.
-
EVERYTHING is FREE to those who paid the upfront package price during the Alpha.
-
I don't know about the 100+ AI's. I play mostly single player. I do play those large dynamic missions from the workshop. I learned my lesson about the RAMDRIVE back in the ArmA 1 days.

Stable 30FPS.It's as almost as near to slideshow.
At least from what I can see.
If I can't get a stable 50-60FPS in the 2013-2014 game with my hardware it's a past tense in my book.
You're still streaming the game from a Hard Drive. You have to increase that speed either with a fast SSD or utimately a RAM Drive.
My system has 1600Hz Ram, but I STREAM the Addons directory from a RAM Drive. The game is smooth as silk. I run 10,000 view distance.
Remember everything is CONSTANTLY streaming from that directory to the CPU. You have to increase that speed. And nothing is faster than RAM.
*1. Player sees chicken. 2. Goto Addons directory to stream in animals.pbo...........

I had 8 gig of RAM 1600 and I went for 32 gig 1600 (for After Effect, not Arma) and I saw no differenceI guess performance gains are more about the 1600mhz => 2333 mhz
Now that you have 32GB of RAM your need to setup a 12GB RAMDRIVE, copy the Addons directory to it, set your -mod=<drive letter>:\Addons Then you will performance.
