  1. I read in Khallej Time that Baghdad has been rated as the worlds worst city to live in  crazy_o.gif

    Go American occupation......Not.

Surely there are worse shitholes in africa not to mention that Baghdad was not the best place to live before the occupation either.. wink_o.gif

Just a reminder, back in the 60s Baghdad was a real jet-set destination. Very exotic, expensive, luxurious.

  2. Remember DID's original `F29 Retaliator'? I had it on the Amiga, good fun with the infinite ammo cheats running. Fully zoomed out satellite view + backwinder missiles = win! They released a demo for an addon that never appeared which was set in the arctic and involved UFOs. The demo was really good, very atmospheric, shame it never appeared.

  3. Duelling banjos at 10 o' clock. I recommend immediate retaliation - all other states should make it illegal to be a redneck fascist with the intellectual agility of a packet of crisps.

  4. What a crock! As if there isn't an inherently high chance of mission failure when flinging a probe across millions of miles of empty space and down onto the surface of a different planet! Dickheads. All they needed to do was look at the history of Mars exploration to see how high the risks were.

Quote[/b] ]But when the British National Space Center Partnership made its bid for funding, it emphasized the potential benefits rather than the risk of failure, the audit office said.

Oh well, in that case hang the b***ards! crazy_o.gif

Quote[/b] ]the potential of Beagle 2's protective air bags failing at the point of impact had been identified early in the project and work was done to reduce the risk.

    So what's their f**k*** problem? crazy_o.gif

  5. This is an outstanding sim. Can't help with that prob but I have a different one. Since I got a new PC running XP every time I start up A:H or C:H my view tilts vertically upwards and won't come back down. Recalibrating my stick makes no difference at all. If anyone has managed to solve this prob I'd love to know how.

  6. Seems a bit of a shame to name the first 9 (well, except Earth I s`pose) after Roman gods and then get all Eskimo for the 10th. If it's going to be an official planet then they should rechristen it. They could name it after Nike (Roman goddess of victory) and get it sponsored!

  7. How about this one?  Best game ever.  Was featured on a Johnny Ball programme way back in the day.

    <img src="myweb.tiscali.co.uk/diesel72/ c64/fractalus.gif" border="0">

This is the C64 version, was also available on Atari.

    EDIT: Nuts, link is fried.

  8. Great article. This link will die in a few days when the story is archived and then you have to pay to retrieve them. Get it while it's hot.

Quote[/b] ]This is a city built on sh**. That's not a euphemism: it's a stinking, sick dung mire that stretches as far as the eye can see, riven with streams of diarrhoeic runny shite that splatter the beaches and leak out to sea. It's like the battlefield of some gastric Somme, with sunshine. Nothing grows here but shredded plastic and disease. It's so disgusting and inhospitable that there are barely any flies. Naked children sit and play in slimy holes, their houses rusted corrugated lean-tos that teeter and clank; occasional brick sheds squat with black, paneless windows.

  9. Quote[/b] ]I don't want to imagine the panic and chaos that a bomb in the Stockholm subway would cause.

Sure is scary. I had to travel through London yesterday and I found myself looking around the main concourse at Kings Cross, trying to work out if anyone was about to shout `Allahu Akbar' and blow us all to pieces. Whereas on the underground I just have this paranoia about getting pushed in front of a train. Hmmm. Maybe I'm just too paranoid full stop.

  10. MI5 recruitment page

Here you go, it seems to have gone up a bit. (This is the starting salary for graduates and equivalent not involved in specialist areas such as e.g. electronics etc.)

    Quote[/b] ]Generalists – graduate equivalent.

Our standard graduate starting salary is Å20,100. However, there is some scope for recruits to be awarded a higher starting salary (depending on the level of skills and qualities they demonstrate in the recruitment process) up to c.Å21,100.

  11. Quote[/b] ]There were cases of radiactive tv sets and other stuff being sold on city second hand markets and then police shot 7 or 8 of them and it helped

    lol!

What a supremely cool site. Like it a lot.

  12. I beat the frigging crap out of my PC on a regular basis. Keyboard gets the brunt of it. It's very therapeutic to just whack it with your fist so all the keys fly out, then you get time to calm down while you're slotting them back in. Eventually, of course, the thing just breaks and won't go back together. At one point I started buying really flashy, expensive keyboards on the basis that maybe I'd hesitate before breaking them if they cost a lot. Didn't work, so now I just buy cheap, dispensable ones (about six times a year).

  13. Yet more water drivel

Quote[/b] ]This amazing pure drinking water has been molecularly restructured to create smaller molecular clusters and provide lower surface tension for improved cellular absorption and hydration.

In addition, this water has been processed with a mild form of electrolysis that ionizes the water, giving the water antioxidant properties. It is then filtered through coral sand from Okinawa, Japan that enhances it with calcium, magnesium and over 70 other trace minerals.

The result is water that simply has to be experienced. Not only is it be the best bottled mineral water you've ever tasted, it's also the healthiest

Well that's a crock of f****** s***. Anyone for snake oil?

Quote[/b] ]Exactly what does this mean? What is molecularly restructured water and how does it result in improved hydration? If you could look at water using magnetic resonance imaging, you would see that H20 molecules tend to adhere in clusters of 10-13 molecules. Our patented process incorporates a mild form of electrolysis that releases some of the molecular bonds creating a greater number of clusters that are half the size. Smaller molecule clustering can result in improved hydration.

That's right folks, ordinary water isn't wet enough to rehydrate you anymore. You need this superwet water. Jesus wept.

  14. True, but it's best if society doesn't descend to his level. His right to privacy doesn't just protect him, if it was ignored on this occasion it could be ignored again in the future, then it could be ignored all the time and you end up with trials like OJs. Anyway, maybe if they can't spend all their time analysing footage from inside the court maybe, just maybe, the media will concentrate on facts for a change. smile_o.gif

  15. Quote[/b] ]Same with steel some time ago. The WTO slapped the US for their government sponsored steel already.

Yup. But there were a couple of other motivators for TBA in reconsidering their steel tariffs: 1. To reward TBA2 for UK participation in the Gulf - even though iirc the tariffs didn't affect `specialist' steel exports from the UK, it still made TB look a bit better in Europe generally. 2. They didn't work worth diddly squit in terms of helping the US steel industry! This new situation is going to be an interesting one to watch though.

  16. No! Look :

    if he's

Quote[/b] ]never met such uptight moderators in my life.

then that must be because he

Quote[/b] ]must have been hanging around in some very juvenile forums debating some truly asinine topics in a very immature way.

i.e. before arriving here? Jeez dude, I'm sticking up for you here!

  17. P.S.: And I have never met such uptight moderators in my life.

in that case you must have been hanging around in some very juvenile forums debating some truly asinine topics in a very immature way.

What? Read it again Ex-R. (You're kinda treading on my point here!) : rock.giftounge_o.gif
