<span style='font-size:27pt;line-height:100%'><span style='color:red'>ATTENTION Y2K3 USERS!</span></span> i am currently in the process of uploading a 7.5 patch. i skiped 7.4 because it was unreleased. 7.5 patch is currently 112 megs. the reason being i took sjb's advice and combined the 7.2 and 7.3 patchs. so you can go from 7.1 to 7.5 in one patch. so that should make it alot easier for new users to upgrade. theres several minor fixes from 7.3 such as removing the engine start up and shutdown sounds to avoid the retard AI that trys to start a tank with 0 fuel over and over and over again that constantly plays that sound lagging the game and annoying people. and there are several major changes: the T80 is now the RHS t80 in hopes of improving performance from the 7.3 tanks. however the t72 remains the same until i can reduce the textures to a smaller size or a newer, more performance freindly one comes along. hopefuly with the new t80 tank battles will be a lil more playable the AH1 is reverted to the AH1W older version of vit's heloz cuz i didnt like his latest installment of that thing. the shilka is replaced by the long awaited spetznaz one added new running, standing and kneeling death animations from.. umm some russian guy person thingy. removed the resistance cfg moves from the config and included sancuatrys most recent pbo addon for his new pistol animation that allows for leaning with pistols. so that works now and is included. so now you can lean with rifles and pistols. as well as crouch walk. works with the 7.1 anim.pbo (and any other for that matter) jeepmg now replaced by combats hummer with M2. combats newest version of thier humvee is NOT included, however it is still compatable. i didnt include it to cut down size. this should also solve that MP bug that made Y2K3 unplayable on servers due to that texture issue. ak47 firing sound replaced by jam firing sound. it varies with what jam3 sound pack you are using. and a few other changes that ive forgoton about because ive been personaly tweaking this thing since 7.3 and i didnt keep a list cuz i had no intention on 7.5 release im uploading it now for beta testing purposes and have every intention on releasing it soon. and unlike other addon makers "soon" means within the next few weeks. probably march sometime. things i dont plan on doing: updating the ch47. its fine the way it is. updating the "v80" because its a seldom used vehicle in bi or user made addons and doesnt warrent the time and effort needed to update it. now assuming this patch is semi flawless. which means that no major bugs are found... then i swear this is the final patch. and not like those other final patchs.. this is the final final. because i have replaced everything i want to replace. ive done everything i wanted to do. therefore i am DONE. if i do anything Y2K3 related beyond this point, it would be to do a low-res armor patch for the T80 and T72 when a low res tank is available for each. beyond that i have no intention of going past this 7.5 mark. oh and i have every intention of starting a brand new topic as well. to cut down on confusion and tech support problems. i will repost the first post of this topic for new users to learn about Y2K3, and current users can easily find thier way around the new topic.

Gotta try that one out, but where do I find molotov cocktails that set people on fire?? i just realized my typo.. i ment to say "setting people on fire with the molotov cocktails just seem more fun" they come with Flash FX "effectpack.pbo" i modified mine so when they catch on fire, rather then giving that annoying baby like cry, they run around screaming "the roof the roof the roof is on fire! but we dont need no water let the mother fucker burn, burn mother fucker, burn!!!" its hilarious  -

the "oval" is BIS's thing.. not INQs. the "proxy" is the actual model istelf. i assume you still want the modern model but the pre-modern sandy veiw. i dont beleive you can get rid of the oval.

yea i ditto that engine bug. i thought it was just my game being stupid. once or twice it worked. since then its all stealth airplane on me  edit: bonko are you sure thats a plane script? it looks an aweful lot like the GMR explosion script i use for Y2K3 that i get with the A10 and Su25 -

there are fun to fly and shoot at! i shot down a D7 with a colt 45. how many people in history shot down a plane with a handgun? give me an M14 and i can shoot down at least 4 -
I say old chap,that was a tad harsh don't you think! Typically, the laughing/grinning (or in thise case the rolling on the floor laughing) smilie means the preceeding text implies a joke. This case is no different, I was kidding. oh yeah and i forgot to mention.. i took it as a joke too Â

no, use any animation pack you want. but theres no excuse for not using the leaning and rolling features. use any animation pck you want.. use your own custom one.. but by giving up the ability to lean and roll in a game is like saying "well i dont think i need a gun either.. no sense in defending myself" being able to hide behind a building, pop out, fire off a few, and pop back in without exposing your entire body is a nice feature. being able to roll to doge bullets, or better yet roll down a hill sideways instead of OFP forcing you to crawl down on your belly at 0.003mph so it takes u 15 seconds to get down a steep hill instead of an hour and 5 minutes is also a nice feature too. locke's rolling and leaning animation can be used in conjuncture with any one of the hundreds of animation packs. but again to willlingly say you want to play without the ability to lean and roll is just plain section 8.

althou i dont play MP anymore other then the occasional one on one direct connect thing.. but that aside there is absolutly no excuse for people NOT to have these animations. no excuse whatsoever. Y2K3, FFUR, custom config, doesnt matter you should have these animations. its like a custom sky mod theres no excuse for you not to have a custom sky mod. so if your a player in MP and you dont have locke's animation.. then you probably dont deserve to be on that server anyway. i wont say you dont deserve to own the game but yea if you dont have it, then its your own fault and i pity you not. if u crash your game because you have 23 other server players with it and your the only moron out of the loop well then you deserve to get kicked off the server or have your game crash or whatever your fate may be. oh and to answer your question, why people like these animations. probably the same reason they like to live during a mission. peek around a corner fire off a few and peak back. only part of you is exposed the rest of you is well hidden and can quickly go from hidden to exposed. the roll animation has saved me on numerious occasions getting shot at using the roll to dodge bullets. note: airblade im not calling you an idiot, im talking about the people that dont use these animations

not in my mod. the only death scripts i have are the exploding bodies and ive been exploded on several occasions and didnt have the problem

that is extremly weird. coming from a person that dies lot in this game i have never experianced that.

ok dude it took me a bit of work to do it, but i got it to work http://ofp.gamepark.cz/_hosted/bratty/PB/Y2K3/newdeath.rar download that file, put the pbo in your Y2K3/Addons folder. then you will see a text file called cfgmoves. open it up and copy the entire thing. then in your custom Y2K3 config find the CFG moves. and copy from cfgmoves alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way down right before cfgammo. its a HUGE section of file. replace it with the one in the text file. most noticeable change is the running death animations. crouch, then standing deaths. hopefuly that should be simple enough for you to figure out.

can you script the windsheild to melt when sitting too close to the exsaust INQ/KH M1A2 thats the only thing you HAVNT added in (in terms of scripts and realisum)

yes, re-run the Y2K3 Skypack & More but before running, go to the new data folder and remove the labled files: night_sum (thats 01 to 05). that will just remove the night vision veiw.. the model will still remain the modern ones, the veiw will be reverted to the grainy hard to see type. Â then run the skypack and more.. and then install johns fire and smoke fx (listed in my downloads) about the bn_880 tracers you just insert the line [_this select 0,2]call loadFile "\bn_tracer\addTracerUnit.sqf" in the init line in the mission editor of a soldier. (it will figure out what side your on and give u the approprate color. west = orange, res and east = green)

first off id like to say i like these ALOT better then before. the monster wheels always did bug me. secondly id like to point out they work fine in Y2K3 with no further user input required. thirdly... i dont have a thirdly but i thought i should say it since having only 2 things to say didnt seem right

im with him... i like hyk units and use them in Y2K3 but i highly dislike the lsr weapons. not because of quality or anything like that. its just i have enough weapon packs as it is. between INQ and a few misc gun addons i have more then enough guns... i dont need another 90 megs of guns i already have. i agree the guns look nice and all, but i have enough and i dont want or need more. so i depboed the addon and removed the lsr dependancy.. except for other then "required addons" there is absolutly no mention of lsr stuff in there. no weapon cargo, no ammo cargo, nothing. so why do we need that thing anyway?? by the way i need mcar too, i lost it before. i deleted it forgetting i needed it

check http://tootallinc.atwar.net/download.php?view.29 i have the "updated" version there.. you dont need the orginal version. i installed only the update on my laptop patching the data pbo there and it worked flawlessly for me... so you dont need the orginal version.. the updated one works fine alone -

that wont work. first off it plays at a realistic speed using GMR fire n explosions second off even if it was a serious problem, no way you would EVER fix it. gmr plays at the right speed, ecp plays too slow, ffx plays too fast. custom scripts play slow fast and in between. so you could slow the BI animation, you could double the textures you could spank a monkey in a circus but it wont make a damn bit a differnce because theres 14 billion fire and explosion scripts and none of them run at the same speed. so theres nothing you can do about that. what we really need to do is stop looking for perfection and enjoy good enough. thats been the OFP communitys problem for years.. everyone wants perfect. it needs to do this exactly, if needs to look like that perfectly. just be happy with good enough. and this right here is as good as it gets, so learn to be happy with what you have instead of what u cant have -

no actualy i had to make a minor config change for personal use, since Y2K3 used the orignal ECP flames not by choice.. because thier flames are a dark red instead of orange.. the OFP flames and smoke can be changed in color via config (IE a smoke shell in red blue ect ect) so the johns flames with the ECP red fire does not look.. good. so you would have to refer the class cloudlet for the fire back to the defaul colors of OFP for it to look right. secondly: the smoke problem was always there.. the orginal smoke, the bi stuff, it changed from a tiney puff to a big puff. but they were all round and when layered in smoke plums that ofp provided it was unnoticeable. now that its detailed suddenly its noticeable. so theres nothign he can do about that
