ive always let them mirror it. edgefiles / @war get it first cuz im a member over there so they get he exclusive. then everyone else mirrors it. OFP.info mirrored 7.0 before that.. for some odd reason they didnt like me too much. never once posted any news i emailed them about but now i gotta contact over there that aides in posting news and downloads and such oh and in case anyone was wondering the medic bug was fixed from 7.0. now the medic has 10 full slots, armed with 8 magazines for his rifel and also armed with a pistol too (each side gets a differnt pistol: res-cz75, rus-tokerev, usa-glock) spec ops and snipers hear and see better. also can run a smidge faster then the rest, and spec ops have the ability to heal too.

Nicolas Cage and Tommy Lee Jones played Apache Pilots greatest quote of all form that movie

for those of you following the topic for release.. when 7.1 is released ill have the moderator change the topic name to the version number and the page that it was released on like Y2K3 Modern Combat Mod v7.1 (Pages 1 2 3 ..31 ) Check Page 31 For Info so when you see the title change you know its been released  and no im not gonna start a new topic, cuz i like seeing my topics build  edit: screenshot from "Status Quo" so you get a better idea of what the replaced civis look like "in action"

ok heres a few more screens from the upcoming 7.1 new handgun models for these 2 weapons Man 1, Man 2, and Man 3 replaced with new models.. and so are the "Police" Police: changed from Man (Police - Cz75) and Man (Police - Skorpian) to Man (Police - Beretta) and Man (Police - Revolver) with thier loadouts changed accordingly. and a special feature for the police. and southpark fans will LOVE this. the action menu for them ofers the option to "Assert Your Athoritah" where the officer will say (using the "Say" scripting command) 'You Will Respect My Athoritah!' i particularly love that option Â

well i need to wake up in 4 hours... i lost about 3 hours of sleep perfecting a new change for Y2K3... becuz when something is worth doing. its worth doing right  out with the Old: in with the New: oh and also note the version number now displayed in the Y2K3 Main Menu GUI

i just got around to testing it. its loads of fun. cept when i "load cargo" on the tarawa.. cuz using Y2K3 it has the M1A2SEP with ALLLLLL the scripts. multiply that x3 plus the.. what is it? 8 M113s, and the cargo script = 3FPS but its still fun as hell to see deffenitly a nice addon. hey phil remember when i said "you make lots of addons.. some of them are keepers and others not so good" well you owe us some shitty addons to balence yourself out very nice work. our working Naval Fleet for the USN has grown to an LSD, LST, CV, and now LHA (by working i mean they actualy do something. like u can land and take off from teh nimitz, you can land and walk around on the lsd, you can land and walk around on the tarwa, and the LST overs refuel, repair, and rearm feature althou u cant land on it)

AH HA! so im not the only person who's installer does operatoinflashpoint as one word! i knew it!!!!! that aside.. you mess u the shortcut and try to blame it on me. how dare you. how do you live with yourself! if im right, which i usualy am, this new installer that creates the shortcut for you. will create the shortcut based on the install path you choose. and it links to FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE and just cuz im so proud of my work, the Y2K3 custom icon was designed by me too by the way i know im one to hurry a release along.. but since im waiting so long on differnt addons im taking my time and double checking everything. and for the first time since i started Y2K3.. im actualy doing an offical change log (between 7.0 and 7.1) and among those changes, im changing the ammo crates (the multipul pile with the camo net) to the mapfacts mil obj pack "Crate". the tealish green crate thats unmarked. makes for a very nice ammo crate model and did i mention russian helos crewed by OWP pilots (replaces soldierepilot) im gonna go bug locke see how his animation pack is comin along oh and i took the time to fully compress a few addons to try and save space, and i have. over 60 megs saved. with full compression on i have confidence that a full installer will be 500 megs. 7.0 to 7.1 patch 50 megs. and due to way too many "missing urlt.p3d" crap the data and data3d pbos have been removed and replaced with a custom Y2K3 skypack that will NOT be included in the full install due to it adds newdata folders and stuff and i dont want to confuse new users. however it will be mentioned upon the release. in the post, and as of right now it is already availbe to download on my site.

thats very odd. only Y2K3 is installed after your fresh install of OFP? i mean no other addons aside from BIS ones.

FlashFx Units Replacement pack 5.0!

Pappy, you may have explained it before but I couldn't find it - I therefore posted the query. 'It's the animations'. Â Sorry, this means nothing to me. Â Please point me to your previous post if that explains the problem in any greater depth. your using custom animation pack arent you? you arent using the stock BIS crapy anim.pbo right? well your custom animation pack.. places the gun at a differnt place then the stock stuff due. the muzzle is right near the "end" of the soldiers hit zone (not jsut hte model of hte osldier theres a small invisable halo outlining the models that record hits too... ever shot a tank or a soldier with a bullet that you know for a fact missed but they died anyway?) and the gun that is being fired.. the bullet at certian angles is hitting that halo point causing you to shoot yourself. this happens with quite a few animation packs.. but its so minuet that noone bothers to report it.. or mabe they just dont see it. i posted the reason you shoot yourself was due to the animations.. 2 posts before you posted he is talking about the animation. i have that same problem with Y2K3.. only its not mod related. rather animation related see i did say that about the battle feilds topic. i get 3 to 4 fps at the begining when me and 120 other soldiers are all running at the same time int eh same direction toward another 50 soldiers that we need to kill. once passing the first part killing those soldiers, and inevetiably loosing 80% of the soldiers that started. leaving your west side with a more manageable number of troops. when the second wave comes in i get around 5 to 10 fps. becuz theres only 2 groups of soldiers (18 men) and 3 tanks. which is a lil more managable. the highest my fps got on battlefeilds was 11. the problem with the mission is theres well over 300 soldiers on that map. every soldier consists of models, textures, and lod's that must be drawn and loaded into your systems memory. after that each AI must be givin "AI" which means standing around doing nothing is ok. but when they "sense" danger, or start walking/moving then the lil gears and wheels start spinning. when that happens guess what? your PC must now process every "AI thought" process. so now that now means you have in the begining nearly 200 ai thought process' running at full throttle at the same time. and that my freinds is what causes the battlefeild lag. now toss in Y2K3 or FFUR and now you have high quality models and textures that use up alot more memory then the stock stuff.. which makes battlefields impossible to play for anyone. tack on the running scripts per unit and guess what... if your PC doesnt lock up or bsod then you are lucky and taht my freinds is the battlefeilds story -

ive explained this already its the animations! Y2K3 uses animations based on sanctuarys.. and i get that occiasionaly too. i dont know what thunderbird uses.. or even what you personaly use. but i can tell you that its not the tracers, its not the gun, its the animations well thats a bad idea. cuz there isnt a sole alive or a computer earthly built that can play this mission "without lag" and anyone that says that battlefeilds doesnt lag for them is full of ..it. 1.8 Ghz AMD athlon 3200. 512 ram. stock BIS crap. battlefields= FPS: 3 as read by DXDLL with ONLY the FPS counter operating. all other dxdll effects disabled. Operation Flashpoint Resistance benchmark as per the options setting w/ autodetect: 5338 unless you got 8 gigs of ram and a 12Ghz processor. with a 1024 meg grapihcs card. battlefeilds will not be playable for any human being using a computer built in this day and age. suggest you test on other.. more playable maps like "vulcan" or if you really want to test the lag factor play something on nogova. -

you say that like battlefeilds was ever "not laggy" Â he is talking about the animation. i have that same problem with Y2K3.. only its not mod related. rather animation related -
i reckon thats the gun that AD Skinner carried in the X-Files

i get lag in missions with alot of objects. its called "gaming" Â Â more objects = more lag. no matter what mod.. or what game u play. normal mods= lots of units means a little lag some times this mod= lots of units means unplayeble 5 fps on "battlefeilds" with nothing but stock stuff. BIS stuff. 9fps on "combined arms" stock BIS stuff. 512 RAM, 1.8GHZ Athlon Processor (AMD 3200) try again -
you probably are unlucky and get shot in the engine cpt moore's UH1C for Y2K3.. i removed the dammaged options from the config us this one.. use the background eraser function in PSP and then resize it to 50% then place 3 or 4 in a line.. not a straight line a rather.. ziggy line like on the grey version. do this randomly all over the helos.
-
i dont like the dammage textures on the camo or the desert one everything else is nice thou pure.. you want help with the dammage textures?
-
nope that is not me. all forums i register with im either Pappy Boyington or Too-Tall. and whoever that is.. if they are right.. that your mod did make minor changes, i most certianly wouldnt react like that. i encourage clans and squads to use Y2K3, or modify the config if they so choose. as long as im credited, and/or the phrase "modified from Y2K3" were present i have absolutly no problem with people modifying Y2K3 for personal or clan use

there isnt a single orginal file that is modified. its all in mod folders your orginal stuff stays intact

but ppl like me have a clean addons and res addons folder (all done via mod folders), so these ppl would have to download all the needed addons by themselves which would make a damn amount of time (often links don't work either) there is always a conflict if you have addons in the res\addons folder and loading replacement mods at the same time, cause you're loading this addons twice (ofp doesn't really like that) and for ffur we need to do it so that all the effects work  actualy OFP doesnt give a rats ass if u run the addon twice.. for instance. Y2K3 uses customized vulcan, su25, humr, and other modified BIS addons.. OFP will load the "most recent" addon first. so if your shortcut is like this -Mod="BIAddons;Y2K3" then the ones in the last mentinoed mod folder (in this case Y2K3) will be loaded in place of the orginal one in BIAddons (if you have a folder like that, i dont but jsut for example purposes) basicly what im saying is OFP doesnt load it tiwce.. it checks one folder, if folder 2 has the same file it will assume folder 2 is the most recent file and load that instead.

actualy the only modifed addon Y2K3 will have is marco polo's AH64.. modified ONLY to keep the install size to a minimal. however feel free to reinstall the full addon later if you want. all the rest of Y2K3 addons are unmodifed "out of the box" condition.. the reason being is missions and whatnot that use these addons.. will still work. so lets say you downooad a mission that requires the HYK solider... then you already have it. no need to have twice of it. oh wait.. no 7.1 will also have a slightly modified bas_mah60.. i fear i will be shot for exposing this truth but just to give you a heads up. its modified in the fact athat A: i compressed it, again to save space, as most modders think uncompressed addons is the way to go, when in fact it isnt.. compressed or un compressed my ofp and missions take the exact same time, down to the milisecond to load.. anyway its compressed and has the modified ECM script in it. becuz i didnt want to go around changing about 14 differnt eventhandlers that used it.. so i changed the script but thats it. all other addons are unmodified. so you wont have to worry about that. in terms of ECP.. the "Extra file installer" will be eliminated for less confusin.. however the primary installer WILL be installing that folder.. the only reason i have that is when you eject the stupid thing is looking for the ECP settings script, and ive gone over Y2K3 8million times and not once is there an ECP referance in there. yet it wants that script. anyway you can use your updatd EP stuff in that folder it doesnt matter. and no Y2K3 will not be making use of the updatd ECP stuff as, im guessing you missed the whole fiasco, but long story short: i hate some of the ECP members.. and granted i am using some ECP effects.. i wont be making use of the updated ECP cuz its too much trouble, takes too much time, and i just dont like them. and lets not let this get into another fight. i hate them, they hate me. i know they hate me, they know i hate them. so it all works out. lets just let that go. on the subject of up to date addons.. its actualy this adon updating that prompts me to make patchs and new versions all the time. 7.1 was spawned basicly on the updated AH64 and updated M1A2-SEP, it got a new version number when i put locke's animations in it. if a model or script path changes then i immediatly update Y2K3.. usualy releasing a "qucik fix" or "patch" for the updated addon within hours of its release.

i will look into it

the patch you downloaded is beta. go to locke's animation thread with his pack... in his latest release has a Y2K3 config in it. use that config on top of the beta patch u just installed. the leaning and rolling features are controled by your sprint key and your left and right movment keys. for me thats Shift + (l-arrow or r-arrow) its not the W sprint key.. its the "turbo" sprint key. check your controls dialog to find out which one it is. and while im here i just wanted to mention a few new things for the 7.1 final patch.. first off i give up trying to call this mod "Final" the only "final"s from now on will be patchs   second off, i had this request before and i just not realized how i can do it. i will be mentioning which version of Y2K3 you are running at the main menu. like right now it says " *OFP : Y2K3* " (you will notice on the other page where i posted a pic of the new GUI. where that text is) i changed it to Y2K3 Modern Combat Mod v7.1 and this will sway any doubt of which version you are running.  oh and Y2K3 will have a new installer too. the new installer doesnt have the same compression has the old one does... so it will be 600 MB for a full install.... any complaints? otherwise i can revert back to the orginal installer which has a much higher compression value

Voyager's Transparent water V-0.2B
Pappy Boyington replied to -HA-kgb-cccp's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
these errors are caused by modified data3d.pbo files. often sky packs will cause this. i had this error with over 80% of my Y2K3 users.. becuz i attempted to give them a pre-packed sky mod. the data3d.pbo is VERY picky. it doesnt often like to be modified, and it most certianly doesnt like to be transfered. attempting to transfer the data3d.pbo from my desktop, to my laptop gave me those errors when i booted up my laptop's game. and both games were same serial code, same one i used when i bought the game 4 years ago.. so apperntly those files are custom tailored to your computer (how, i do not know) so anyway as not to ramble on.. i should say that if you have these errors make sure that the data.pbo and data3d.pbo files found in the Res\DTA folder and hwtl subfolder are the "out-of-the-box" files. unmodified. then re-run the sky installer, or in this case the water installer and try again
