Yes and if you are killed or critical injured you continue the campaign with a new character (kills reset) so no mor replay for uncompleted missions (I hate that). ok new character sounds good but getting killed and still going strong with another dude?! wake up pal. if you get injured so badly that you can't carry on with the previous guy could work but getting through the missions without completing a single one of them?? and reset kills? I think fragging is not quite the primary objective. "we lost the war... so what I survived and killed 2000 enemies" -
LoL where have YOU been There's a big thread about this already and here's a link http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....68;st=0

injuries: sounds good but IMO it doesn't mean that you get hit in the leg and won't ever walk again specialisation: not on weapons but maybe on vehicles. it's not quite realistic when Pvt. Pyle jumps into any plane or chopper and flies it like he hadn't ever done anything else. -
cool idea yes but I think it has been suggested a few times already

Peeking over rocks, through windows etc.
PainDealer replied to Vicente_cgn's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I think mixing the peeking features of vietcong and call of duty would give a nice result -
Something like this??? hell no! I think it's a flying ural truck blasted in the air by a laser-guided bomb from a thunderbolt. I don't think truck is a light weight vehicle and that one being "some" air-time (I hope you guys see the pic)

haha there's the yoga instructor that's a little extreme version of ragdoll effect

we wouldn't want to turn OFP into a role playing game would we? those things work with some action games but OFP is more like a simulation so I don't see any real advantage in it.
-
some mods have done it but I don't think it's possible without scripts in OFP
-
yep but I don't see any point in it. I feel like a cat with nine lives while playing. there's no excitement if you know you can continue after getting killed.
-
no no no no NO! there's no point in switching from soldier to another. there are many games that do this and that's ok I like them but in OFP no way. for example in H&D you have the possibility to control four soldiers. one of them dies. np hell I have three more! that just would rip the fun off of OFP. if you die, you're dead. and that's how it should be in the future too.

Im hit! oh my god i've been hit!
PainDealer replied to Impavido's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
hehe my mom's a nurse I know what you mean IMO your post contained all the important details about getting hit. anyway, a hit in the lower chest can be very serious but sometimes it's not that bad. it pretty much depends on what particular piece of meat gets in the bullet's way -
wouldn't be bad at all

windows takes just as much RAM as you give. doubling from 256 to 512 had no effect in performance. neither did splitting 256 to 128
-
Maybe because if more games and hardware would support Linux, more people would use it. Hell, my Win2k would be flying at light speed outta the window I'd see my Winblows SexP do the same :P

Im hit! oh my god i've been hit!
PainDealer replied to Impavido's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Actually that can easily happen; the bullet's kinetic force causing a system shock in your body, aka heart failure. there are some places in your arms and legs where are bigger amounts of blood and bleeding could cause fast blood loss when a bullet crushes its way through. a heart failure, could be possible but I expect it wouldn't happen if the soldier is in good physical condition. of course there's a possibility of air getting into the blood causing a blast in the heart but the chance must be 1/1000000. -
IMO H&D2 has a very good ragdoll effect. *A little off topic* Other thing I personally really like in H&D2 is the wounds from bullets. Every hit makes a nice little hole in the head or torso. Right there where you get hit. *Back to the topic* Those who have played vietcong know the great ragdoll effect it has. The dead soldiers always fall smoothly between the logs and rocks or whatever objects there are.

oh no you ain't

gotta agree with the lady. I just need an installer that puts the game on my comp the way I want it to be installed that's all.
-
I'd say throw the inventory slots away and replace them with an inventory fully based on the masses of the equipment like in H&D.
-
no! no colors please

about reloading: when you change a mag that still has some ammo in it the ammo should be lost or kept with the player so he could gather up all the leftovers in one mag. of course this action would take some time.

I've never thought of this and I'm a big fan of radars BIS should work on better radars at least in general. the target locking isn't too good.

I think server admin should have an option to allow custom faces. this could be handy in league matches when some people delete the temp files and see all players with white face and that way make it easier to spot them from a bush or something.
