    Flashpoint 2 music?

    just watched Full Metal Jacket again last weekend and heard "surfin' bird". it was awesome!! happy rock'n'roll is just what war movies/games need! btw nestor music spoils the combat and IMO is only meant for cutscenes and transportation. like you're in a jeep going to a base to meet an officer or something on a sunny day

    Not sure if this one's already thought about this way but here goes. Platoon leader has few squads under his command and squad leaders can give orders to individual soldiers in his group. the squad leaders would get orders from the platoon leader. it would be mad to have squads that have strength of like 30 men.

    I like the idea but I don't see much use for it since about 99% of the action will be outdoors as OFP2 is going to be a war sim (hopefully) like its older brother

    well of course it's nice to get a decent game for the black box too but it's taking awful lot of time to finish it... and I think not so many people are gonna buy the xBox version anyway cos most people like the "mad games" like "hey I shoot a nuke at you from 2m distance and I don't get a scratch myself". it's not so good business if you wanna make money imo btw here where I live I'm considered as some kind of a freak of nature cos I play OFP LoL so my answer to xBox version is yes/no

    and make the game heavier to run maybe?? great idea tho have to admit but when you have like 20 "small details" the game will eat all your memory but I think people (including me) will have better machines when the game is released

    why couldn't they bother to translate just a few things... briefings and subtitles. great addons and stuff but I'm very unhappy without the translations

    the idea of a command map sounds nice. make a plan in a trench and then use some kind of execute plan command. idea of being able to switch the unit you are controlling doesn't sound like ofp at all.

    I agree with Leone here. there was a discussion about classes some time ago. different classes should have their own specialities and skills. infantry being able to operate small arms and AT weps better but not being able to fly aircraft at all. sorry a little off topic but I think it's kinda related to the original one.

    this could add a whole new dimension to the game. but then the enemy should hear you too. that could cost your life against other human players. the in-game system is way too laggy now so they need to improve the codec or something. and of course using external voice comms should be considered as cheating as the enemy can't hear you...

    didn't wanna bother browsing the whole thread and search didn't find anything so I'd say include weapons with folding buttstocks.

    yeah sure it would be extremely cool but it sounds like some CQB SWAT game. many people want OFP2 to be like rainbow six or something and I really wonder why don't they play THEM instead. I could die of happines if I ever experienced a huge multi-hour battle in trenches and foxholes with mortars and arty hammering the surroundings. for me OFP is sim of a real war experience. maybe in OFP3 BIS could come up with all kinds of forces. military, SWAT, police, fire department... maybe I made myself clear enough. there are more important things than sewers
  18. omg LoL like I thought looong time ago there would be some CS players whining about OFP if any of them would even bother to try it out lately I've been playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory to let my brain rest a bit. the difference between OFP and that kind of FPS is the damage system. in ET the winner of a firefight is the one who's better to dodge bullets and faster to send 50 hits to the opponent so fighting against 2 guys at the same time is quite impossible. in OFP it's almost the opposite if that. the one to live is usually the one who sees the other first cos 1 or 2 good shots takes the enemy down. this gives the possibility of surprise. it's easy to make 10 enemies bite the dust if you just know how to keep your ass hidden. I'd consider CS and other FPS's as games and OFP as a lifestyle. maybe "one shot one kill" would make the others playable too... I gotta agree here. OFP isn't always heavy fragging. actually it very rarely is.

    Savegames

    in DOA mode you only have 7 savegames per level. back to the topic ---> I think they should take the "savegame" away and add a few retry positions in each mission. depending on how difficult it is. like if there are 5 nme bases to clean up I'd expect there would be retry after 1st and 3rd objective. I agree that it's a bit lame but some missions are too crackin' long to complete with only one try. this might confuse you all a bit since there already is the retry thing but like I said some missions are nearly impossible to complete without having "checkpoints"

    yeah atm we don't have any idea what's going on out there. seems like the xbox version is "iced" right now... thought it should have been released some time ago

    what version of OFP are you running? try patching to 1.91 and 1.96BETA and start with -nomap.

    yes I was talking about the CSLA patch and I think it fixed one of the problems... not sure. idea of the possible conflicts with 1.96 was something of my own suspicions about the compatibility. I remember a statement "designed for 1.91" or something but I'm quite positive its got nothing to do with this case.
