I Dissagree. I think the SAS are much more similar the Delta than to the SEALS, but both views are valid on a certain level. SAS and Delta are similar in that excell in AT tactics, and very specific targets. SAS and the SEALS are similar in that they work very well harrassing enemy troops behind the lines. I guess it depends on your own point of view.

The U.S. Government deny that they exist, but anyone who knows anything about Special Forces will tell you they do. 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment - Delta (SFOD_D)was set up in 1977 by U.S. Army Colonel Charles Beckwith. Col. Beckwith had served a year on exchange with Britains 22nd SAS Regiment (1962-63) and modeled Delta accordingly. Delta is divided into three operational squadrons (A, B, C) which are subdivided into smaller troops. They operate out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Most come to Delta from the Rangers, however candidates can come from and Army branch. Very few candidates (30% I think) actually qualify for Delta. Examples of their operations include: 1989 - The rescue of American citizens at the start of Operation Just Cause 1991 - Scud Hunting in Northern Iraq. 1993 - Part of Task Force Ranger, assigned to capture warlord Mohamad Farah Aidid. I always use the STE Rangers and SEB Delta Force addons. I also love the Tigershark/Jellybelly Pavehawks and DAP.

Much as I love the F/A-18, I have to agree with Kegetys, It just wouldnt work in OFP. Anyway the Hornet is more of a surgical strike aircraft than a tank-buster. The Warthog works well because in real life it flys low and hits hard from bases close to the frontline.

I gotta agree with everyone else here. I don't see a problem with creating a game based on a curent conflictm. Hell, if someone made a game based on the troubles in Northern Ireland (where I come from) I'd love it. As long as it was done tastefully and with respect to those concerned. As for the comment about it being more acceptable to make games about WW2 or Vietnam. I say that's Bull. Doesn't matter when a conflict happened, the fact is it happened, many lives were lost and many were invariabley changed.

What about the Castle in south Everon? It's got a flat foof and you can stand in it. A "Little Bird" would fit on it.

I'd love to see the MH-6 in the game. Should have been there instead of the OH-58. The AH-6 would be nice for CAS too.

The U.S. retail version of OFP is 1.2 I believe. So when it came out there the AH-64 would have been in the game. This also explains why it is in the Gold Edition, Which is 1.2 or 1.3. I guess they just wanted to put the Apache somewhere in the campaign, although I think the AH-1 fits into 1985 better than the AH-64.

The Empire would win, simply because they would build another Death Star. Now we all know Death Stars are at risk from small fighter craft, but: 1- All federation pilots are crap 2- The federation has no good fighters anyway. Buy the time the feds got around to deciding whether to talk to the Imps or run away screaming, they'ed be atomised. Anyway why is a thread like this on an OFP forum?

Let me Say this; many of you here are focusing on what happened in the past, that's what has kept this Country in the position it is for so long. Small groups of extreamists can't forgive, forget, and move on. The majority of people here are sick of all this crap and just want to try and get some normality around here. Both sides have done wrong, now both sides need to work together and try to repair the damage that has ripped this country appart.

Urgent Fury would be nice. Especially a mission recreating the botched Richmond Hill Prison operation.
