I'm not sure whose BMP/BMD had the "entertainment" in the rear...would be nice if you could include that Really, I am blown away. This is the best beta ever. The only suggestion I have is to use the INQ weapon pack, or maybe give a Kegetys PM to a crew member. Oh well. -
Seriously...consider just how cleverly these weapons have been coded. The only bug in the entire pack is a missing texture on the ammo table.

I am definitely in favor of the use of the T-55 pack, Inquistor's weapons, and any other major addons that people will have anyway. Seriously, the only difference between VIT and Remo is that Remo isn't a thief and is a hell of a lot more ambitious. But the problem of NO BETA TESTING WHATSOEVER really brings this pack down. Right now, I'd give it a 4/10. Please work with other people! This has so much potential! -
How about making different grenades for east and west? BTW, the US no longer uses the "pineapple" grenades, the current M67 is a sphere. In future releases, I think it would be better not to arm the troops with pistols.

Hey all, I was looking through all of the stuff that my dad brought home from E3. One of the more interesting pieces, aside from the Metal Gear Rex paper model kit from the Konami people was an ad for a game called Xenus by a developer called Russobit-m. It will include boats, planes, vehicles, many weapons, and a 25x25km play area. It seems like it's a lot more RPG oriented than dear old OFP but the setting seems cool and the licensing of the Havok physics engine is a sure way to win my $40. THe name is retarded though.

Perhaps the fact that your weapons have been "hard-coded" into your game makes it smoother inquisitor. Any chance you might pose the .cpp? I don't play MP either (I'm a 56ker) and think it would be great. If you do decide yo release the cpp, please make it the same way as Kegety's sky addon.

Sigmund Freud is a disgraced physcologist from ~100 years ago. A Freudian slip is an idea he came up with. It means to say something you actually believe or think but you don't want or intend to say. Basically, you acidentally let out some supressed truth or something. Will the RPK have more than one mag choice? See the HK pack HK21. -
I agree. the old CWC trees and textures always seem to make my comp lag in SP. Nogova runs fine at the same viewdistance/visul quality settings. And make some real farm fields!

guys, open up malden and compare it to Nogova. The difference between OFP2 and OFP1 will be much more than that. I recall Marek making statements that they were going to be working on use of pixel-shaders and would improve water rendering. You can bet these guys have a few tricks up their sleeve. The most important part of an engine is the gaemplay. OFP1 had that almost completly setteled, aside from clipping and water. I'm sure they will dramatically improve that.

hey guys my dad is at E3 today and I told him he should go check out the codemasters booth and look for OFP2. He said he would if he has some free time (OF COURSE HE WILL! HE'S DOING BUSINESS WITH EXACTLY ONE COMPANY THERE! anyway, he'll be home in a few hours, maybe 70 PDT.

here's my idea about how to make a water effect that varies by depth. put three or four more polys in parallel to the stop "surface" polygon, each deeper than the previous one. Texture them progressively darker shades of transparent blue. It's not perfect, and it doesn't work so well looking horizontally, but from a top-down persepctive or looking up, not bad.

They are looking awesome. Will they launch with new BAS-made handguns, or just use the BIS 92 or no pistols? However, from the release of the I44 demo I have learned to appreciate the value of a bugless release. Take your time guys, just get it out before OFP2 demo.

I don't think the Feyadeen had much success using "techincals." They are too easy to stop IRL. They're best for harrassment, and OFP doesn't simulate skirmishing units all that well. Two suggestions: 1. How about some different paint schemes? 2. How about a mortar version? I know that the Iraqis were using pickups with 60mm mortars to harry refugee convoys leaving Basra.

How does one hold a TEC-9? It doesn't seem like you can grip near the end of the barrel, and magazine-holding is only common in movies. The Calico weapons were some of my favs in FAllout Tactics...so much ammo!

Fileplanet used to be pretty good. Now it sucks ass. FileFront was never any good, and it always sucked ass. @war uses FilePlanet I think. Fileshack.com is the best, but they have nothing for OFP. But as far as demos, trailers, and patches are concerned, they're the best. There will probably be another update pretty soon.

Oh come on. I don't care if you're Russian or otherwise but you can't rape a baby and eat it at the same time. It's just not possible and you should know better zverushka. It took me so long to figure out I shouldn't just rip into Guba with my XM-177. Anyway, it's going to be interesting however BIS decides to tackle the border problem. This is really offtopic (like most of my reply) but it's still good. Anyway, Warren Spector of Deus Ex and System Shock 2 fame said that character interaction was the hardest part of FPS/RPG design so for SS2 they just killed everyone on the station. For OFP1, they just made the water infinite and besides, you couldn't swim. Anyone know where most US SF troops in Vietnam were operating in 1968 or so? -
