Good job man! I'm looking specially forward to see that C-130 in the game. Did you get some good interiour referrence pictures for cockpit and rear cabin? Thats quite importand I think. Actually I've got no real critics about your model, since you said it's work in progress. Only thing I would take care off a bit more are the propeller- and engine-cases (boxes?). And the gear. But you will probably do that anyways. Also I would suggest to create an uni-coloured version as well, as it would fit better into an european scenario (I dunno about the real camo, but thats what I think at least). Good luck, PSC

I know that you cannot see poeple through the back-window of a jeep for instance (if you are not in that jeep), but that house-bug I did not realize yet. Maybe thats the reason why most of the buildings do not have real glass-windows, but only empty holes (besides that most of the houses are war-ruins already). It sounds crazy. You can see the pilot and the console, but not the seat. Did you use alpha-textures for the canopy, or is there another method to create transparency I don't know yet? Till later, PSC

If it is like you guys say (I'm not that comfortable with those different behavior classes yet), it would be indeed more realistic to use a motorcycle behaviour. PSC *edit* The drivers positions/animations would probably fit better than jeep positions/animations as well.

The release of Oxygene is not a secret. Anyone that is interested in that issue can get that information. Btw., we are in the group "Modmakers". What else do you excpect people to do in that group than making mods with necessary tools. But of course we should be tacid* about whats going on in this forum (about the special terms and stuff like that). Till later, PSC * Can I use the word tacid in this case? I've got a simple question. Yesterday I tried to start o2light. I followed the instructions, send the automatically generated request-codes to BIS, they send the authorisation-codes back to me, I inserted them, and everything worked fine for a while. Unfortunately I had to delete my o2light folder due to a problem with memory-adresses-stuff (I dunno exactly what happened, but I always got an error message when I tried to start the program, containing cryptical stuff like "ADRXE75437643FILJHF65436534" and so on...). So I unzipped the program again and tried to start it, but the request-codes were different this time, and of course the authorisation-codes did not work as well. Does that mean I always have to request new codes when I delete the program? The instructions do not tell me details about that. It only says: Also, if you reinstall your PC completely or if you want to install on a different PC, you need new codes to unlock the software. Neither did I completely reinstall my PC, nor did I use a different one. Thanks in advance for the answer, PSC

I'm sorry Konyak-2. I'm not one of these fellow Maya users. I've created my stuff using Cinema 4D. But a few days ago I got Maya, and now I try to make myself a bit comfortable with the user-interface of that programm. But your import problem could have something to do with 4-point-polygons. With Maya you can create them. But 3D Studio Max does not support them (only 3-point-polys). Maybe the *.3ds format (I know, *.3ds is not the 3ds max format, its *.max) does not support 4-p-polys as well? PSC -
Are you talking of something like a damage-model? I cannot help you, but maybe to specify your question will help others to answer it. PSC

How to make windows? transparent faces and texture

K Airwolf, hope this will help you and all others that do not know how to add transparency. You create a window with transparent and non-transparent areas with textures that contain an alpha channel. In this case you need TGA files (which can contain an alpha channel, 32 bit) which can be converted into PAA files later. Usually a picture for use on monitors has three color layers. Red, green, and blue (RGB, 24 bit). An alpha channel is something like a new layer, that can contain black, white, and all grey gradiences (?) (RGB + alpha = 32 bit). Everything you mark as black in the alpha channel will be transparent. White will be non-transparent. 50% grey would be 50% transparent. I've added three pictures to explain: 3D view, not rendered. Doors and windows appear to be non-transparent: The texture I've aplied onto the pilots door. It contains three color- and one alpha channel: 3D view, rendered. I would apreshiate if you wait a little more with that Antichrist (and anybody else too of course), since I don't know yet if I'm really going to release these addons in the future. Some things that are importand for me are not yet clear (MLOD, ODOL, what Filbank can do, etc.). And I would not like it to make peoples mouth water with some screenshots, but do not release anything at all. And, by the way, a little "surprise effect" with a fully working expansion pack would be nice as well. Thanks anyways that you asked for that AC! Till later, PSC

Sorry, can't help you with that. I'm a heli freak. Do you remember the old game "Gunship"? That was one of the best games I've ever had. First at a frieds Amiga, then on my own incredible high-end power machine PC (486 DX or something, 50 MHz, 16 MB RAM, nobody beats that beast). Good luck, PSC -

P.S. to the post above: I've got no favorite custom mission, since I don't like most of the custom missions in general. But if you are interested in a decent heli mission, check "5th Aviation" by cumboy. There are not too much good missions, and even less good helicopter missions (which interest me most), but that one is nice to play (other missions by cumboy too). PSC -

Well, to give you a short answer, there are several sites were you can download custom missions/small campaigns made by other users. They all play on the original islands (Malden, Everon, Kolgujev) or on some inofficial islands (like winter Kolgujev or jungle Everon). Some of those custom missions require additional inofficial addons. That depends on the missions. But nearly all of these inofficial addons are simply retextured models of the original game. Up to now its hard for a custom user to create really new stuff, due to a lack of tools to import own 3D modells and anything else (other data) that is necessary for a new addon. Take a look at this site for addons or missions: OFP Editing Center I'm not affiliated with this site in any way, but this really is, next to www.flashpoint1985.com, a good site for OFP-related stuff.
