LOL GREAT!!! Thanks for posting it here Kingbeast, I dont visit the addon forum too often - might be necessary to change that now... I tried it out - and those sidewinders are wonderful; a MI 17 or MI 24 down with one not even well aimed missile! Tried to shoot them down with the gun too. The MI 24 is hard to hit (more then he hits me) in those speeds. But once I touched the belly of the MI 24 with my Hawk when going too close; the MI 24 went down and Hawk got some damage - but the sound when we collided was real strange and nice. It really sounded like a gentle high speed touch, making it an awesome near death experience

This worked for me when I was frustrated at first with the new forums (dont care now since I wear contact lenses more now, but with goggles the text becomes too small again): Go to: 'Intenet options' 'Accesibility' Select 'Ignore font sizes specified by webb page' I still use IE 5.0, think I heard that it dont work on some later version (no idea about Netscape)

I dont think there is a problem with the SU25. But I just made a test mission with one T80 platoon and one T72 platoon directly south of airfield where I placed a AH-64, CH-47, OH-58 and AH-1. Please download this mission and try it out: AA MG Test mission The problems seems to be greater with each patch. Now none of the T-72's and only one or two T-80's fire at the old AH-1 and the new OH-58. NONE fires at AH-64 or CH-47, except if I land amongst them - then they kill me with HE in one second... And an ever greater problem I have seen since about version 1.30 is that the tanks only appear as white squares on the radar until I damage them - then they might turn red for a short time (exception for a SOME T-80's with AH-1 and OH-58). There is never any report, like "12 a clock T80, 500". I tried to remove all addons in case they produced the problem - no defferance. Please test the mission above, because this is a big problem; at least to me who likes to start up OFP and just fly around as recreation Â

Would love to go to a Dylan concert, a living legend who has done some great stuff And Die Alive, I think this is the text of one of their songs, right (please dont laugh at me if I'm wrong - when I was about 10 years I loudly sang 'I want a bison body' to WASP:s 'I want to be some body' )?: Motörhead, Motörhead, Motörhead is allright............

I have spent some time to catch up with the posts about the school shooting in Germany. After reading the 12 pages in this thread (mostly about guns) I noticed the other thread supposed to be about computergames to be blamed, and whats it about - GUNS n glory. Halleluja!!!!! Since I am studying Educational science (only to parts related to the school system, basically the same thing as Sociology and Psykology) I have read a lot of theories and opinions about what school is all about. I hoped to see discussions about how the school system could be the cause for the shootings, but they are nowhere to be seen; only guns  So here comes some provocative theories/opinions about what school is about: * Storage of 'not yet human beings' during daytime. * A system to get rid of people that society dont want. * Production of good employed and consuming but not reflecting citisens. Ah, maybe its pointless - there are so many disgusting ideologies we hold dear here in the 'western world' that the school is just a tiny part. What really matters is GUNS in themselves, right? Anyway, I'm off to bed, probably to check back after Barcelona GP tomorrow. See ya

And I really dont think that OFP let us experiece war at all as you stated in the first post. You dont experience anything else than tactical thinking and aiming. You take away essetial parts like war-psycosis, moral, stench, depression, freezing, shouting, agression, exhaustion, blood, weight, dampness, disgusting underwear, hunger, orders, abuse, collectivity, death............... The ideal situation IS fantasy; computer games & paintball etc... Sorry if I made it to serious, I assume you have not made military service, or? Most people who have, got a hard time combining the word 'ideal' with real military I recon. What I mean is probably that it would have been better if you asked 'What would be your ideal position in a complete computergame'

Air Force Since I'm so lazy, its the only thing I really know about, and I'm quite safe with our mobile service capabilities + several layers of protection. And of course I'm part of the most lethal weapon around EDIT: I saw you asked what one would enjoy the most - but since I'm probably not very keen on directly killing, thinking about the pathetic reasons wars are fought for, I will keep my choise ANOTHER EDIT: I dont think the 'killing' in OFP is fun at all, my dedication for OFP is rather about the atmosphere of the world and the unique 'unlimited' possibilities. I'm still after 12 months of playing fashinated by the virtual world in it self

LOL Since I recently studied statistics and learned about 'statistic significance' (not at all what it sounds like), I had to check out if they were serious, guess not: Wasn't Harpoon4 supposed to be out a long time ago?? Yes, it was. Harpoon4's development history is a convoluted and harrowing tale, unsuitable for small children or pregnant women. Some day, if you buy us some drinks, we might regale you with it. Right now, we're working as fast as we can to make Harpoon4 live up to the high expectations that all have for it. At the current moment, the unfinished Harpoon4 code poses a small but statistically significant threat of erasing all the data on your computer. Therefore, we think it is best not to ship the game quite yet

I actually reistalled it yesterday, thinking it would be fun to go out again, but naaahhh. Played a couple of missions in januari, but think it felt like the older subsims like 'Aces of the deep' and SH (did not play that much). I feel a little disappointed about such a new game with only little better graphics and features - have not tried destroyer command though, maybe multiplayer there is fun. The major drawback is that the campaigns are'nt dynamic, I even think Aces of the Deep was. Scripting takes away much of the fun I think... EDIT: But I have not tried out any mods to it either; please tell if there are any good ones

To me it sounds like possible HDD problems or virus. A bad HDD, or as Epyon9283 say: IDE controller, can give some strange file errors and such.... Also as recent as yesterday a guy I know found out that all his data was infected by 2 viruses (loveletter and some other strange .EXE virus). He downloaded a trial version of McAfee anti virus program for free and scanned, but will most certainly install a full version antivirus program after this Virus can cause all kinds of strange problems, even if they just dwell in your old backup files reinstalled after formatting...

Regarding US ratification tradition and genocide (yes Wobble I'm repeating myself ): Q: Who has not ratified and why not? A: The Convention on the Rights of the Child is the most widely and rapidly ratified human rights treaty in history. Only two countries, Somalia and the United States, have not ratified this celebrated agreement. Somalia is currently unable to proceed to ratification as it has no recognized government. By signing the Convention, the United States has signalled its intention to ratify – but has yet to do so. As in many other nations, the United States undertakes an extensive examination and scrutiny of treaties before proceeding to ratify. This examination, which includes an evaluation of the degree of compliance with existing law and practice in the country at state and federal levels, can take several years – or even longer if the treaty is portrayed as being controversial or if the process is politicized. For example, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide took more than 30 years to be ratified in the United States and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, which was signed by the United States 17 years ago, still has not been ratified. Moreover, the US Government typically will consider only one human rights treaty at a time. Currently, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women is cited as the nation's top priority among human rights treaties.
