    i would like to say that the m203 posted in this image http://i030.radikal.ru/0802/15/1b5d9f1ef35f.jpg  is incorrect the fore grip is a triangular one on this model like the M16A1 but in actual fact the original M16A1/M203 rigs had a rectangular foregrip/heatshield see refering image this also allowed the housing of the sight system without the use of a rail system which was implimented many years after prior to this were many editions including this one the xm148 i thought i would bring this to your attention to get the weapon fixed before release all the best ONI

    villas i dont believe you have a valid argument here and it should stop now as you didnt attack the people who did aimpoint and acog conversions for things like the ak47 and spr in the past so why start now on pingu when he has just made the blunder of not naming his forum post correctly as he has stated the weapon is a M240 with acog and aimpoint get over your attitude leave it at the door all this is doing is derailing a persons thread on their mod now you may be an experienced modder in your own right well pingu is aswell he just thought that optics would be a good idea on a fire support weapon and if your only argument is that he got the name wrong on his post then what the hell is the rest of this bs get over it or post in another thread and i think modderators should act on it just cause you are an estblished modder doesnt mean you have the sway on the forums and i can tell you pingu and many other modders have done some other great works they just dont get released here for this very reason too many anal retards wanting to prove penis length and squashing thier resolve to make mods and learn now constructive critisism is one thing but leave it at that end rant

    im sorry villas if you seem offended but the use of abusive language in normal language is commonplace here in australia as normal language language that you would use in a pub talking to mates is pretty much common place here in australia amongst even the upercrust thats not to say we are a bunch of yahoo's that are lax on language far from it lets just say we have a colourful language in comparison to other countries and the word fuck is one of the things said quite often by anyone in common language (you see we have grown a bit of a thick skin to it) so if you see an aussie post with colourful language dont take offense its not being meant as obusive its justr the way we speak as in what pingu was saying is and i will use the colourful languageplus the translation so there isnt a misunderstanding  "couldnt be fucked/couldnt be bothered" this is commonplace and i dont even think pingu was thinking about what he was posting when he did he just posted as if he was speaking it so i suggest either buying an australian slang dictionary or getting a slightly tougher skin as this sort of thing is pretty common and i apologise to pingu for derailing his thread ever so slightly

    australia gets most of thier own weapons through licences puchased from the original makers and built by ADI (Australian Defence Industries) and i believe the mag58 is also procured under licence i also know that they use with it the 1.5 optic used with the steyr S series of weapons (for example look at the AAW steyrs) aswell as acogs and aimpoints and the DFSW versions (direct fire support weapon) uses a 30 cal tripod and a mortar  sight system  employed to give acurate adjustments to fire support (reference image below)and as with all the weapons we have under licence ADI builds them to the requirements our military need and if thats different to the normal mag 58 then its as ADI have redesigned them

    im sorry but you are wrong on a few points villas here is an australian mag 58 and with a lot of them the timbers have been either painted black or replaced with the black polemer stocks and yes they have a picitany rail and ours use optics quite a lot and before you attack pingu on his nobody had a go at rico for his mag 58's in his pack (adfmod) and they were just plain bis m240's and he changed the sights up to being an optic view when they didnt even have an optic on them
  7. well mostly the only thing left of Fromz's sound mod now is a couple of cracks in the background and his config (from the original sound mod fromz released) but even that is a frankenstein in comparison to the original now although he does help us with the config from time to time our sound mod has evolved into its own style so as far as similarities thats where it stops i just credit fromz for his original work and assistance he has given . fromz has a great work and its his 'style and feel' and how he likes to hear his game and ours is how we like our sounds to be  and the two sound mods are completely different when in comparison anyways enough of the drama lol thanks fox for the mirror updating it now all the best ONI
  8. thanks sickboy your compliments as always touch us deeply (in a manly way lol) glad you like how its turning out at this stage we are looking at different elements to throw in randomised elements to certain sounds but at this stage its still experimental and not going to be implimentedjust yet, once implimented you will see a big difference in the way the battlefield ambiance hits you also are the new bullet fly by sounds acceptable are they too loud ,too close ,too far let us know as each update i have tried to emulate as real as possible i can (one thing you will notice with the fly by sound the closer it is the more it changes from just a wizz by to a wizz crack which is actually what you will hear in real life...wait till you get one right by your ear ..damn) big thanks also goes out to the developement team of BlackKnight ,Sgt_Savage and Fromz without them this puppy certainly wouldnt have got off the ground (dont worry im in there too lol) will be looking at putting in environmental sounds and civil vehicle sounds in the possible near future but i want to get them right before we do so and as always i am looking at fine tuning my weapon sounds and explosions but at this stage the mod will stay as is for a few months more .....have to say not many sound mods have updated as quick as we have lol now where is that jar of coffee lol ...anyone got a spoon...no no water just the coffee lol....ohh maybe a little sugar.... anyways lads i hope you like the progress we have made with the sound mod and i hope we can keep the standard as strong in the future edit:looking into registering the addons now edit2:signed version available soon on first post edit3: done signed version available all the best ONI
  9. hmm not seen this before if you can post a copy of your taget line i will check to see its been put in properly also did you just put the AACFSOUNDS folder into your ArmA folder and link it to it in the target properly? if you havent then it wont find it if you placed it in the wrong spot (for example placed the folder in the arma addons folder instead of in the base arma folder) if you post your target and check that its in the corect place i think we will find a sollution all the best ONI

  12. issue is fixed with the 203 also the bullet flyby's replaced with a custom made sound to replicate the actual sound of a bullet whizzing then snapping as it goes past the closer you are to the flyby sound the more pronounced the snap will be i hope you all like it mirror to be presented soon mirrors updated on first post enjoy
  13. after listening to the sounds in game a lot this week i have noticed an inconsistancy with the 203 explosion sound in that its sounding the same no matter the distance and its overtly loud we will be looking at this and fixing the issues needed shortly so please be patient all the best ONI

  15. as i said above in my previous post a close bullet actually sounds like a loud mosquito passing by ur ears at a 100 mile an hr thats what the sound is your hearing the far away sounds are a crack sound the close shots are a wizzing sound( thus the expression bullets wizzing past my head) simple as that
  16. mate the M4 hasnt changed you are dreaming there  but the ambient sounds we changed slightly to give some variation to the sound so if a round is close to you say within about 10 to 20 meters away you will hear a wizz like a mosquito zipping past  then at further ranges the sound you will hear is the cracking sounds you heard before we also reduced the distance that you can hear ricochets and bullet impact sounds due to the response given by the community i hope this explains a lot all the best ONI   Â
  17. @sickboy thanks mate for the config fixes mate much appreciated if anyone wishes to use his config i have no issues it does work and ties in all the other classes to the sound mod but is not essential to the sound mod it still works either way just sickboys has rounded off the config in a way we couldnt have (even still ours does still work quite effectively just isnt as indeapth as sickboys) so i will be keeping your config around sickboy till next editing roundup and more than likely calling on you again ...again i say thanks @MrBurns the sound of the gau 8 is still there the problem is when we looked at it again it was looping badly and had to chop the start off it slightly to remove the nasty little clipping sound it was causing at every loop it hasnt altered the sound much all its done is cause the sound to line up correctly and not sound like its going to malfunction and lock up lol(as thats what it sounded like or that the gun was finding rounds that were simply not firing) i personally tested the gau 8 just earlier and found it to be working and working well all the best ONI
  18. for some reason sickboy the config wouldnt work for me but thatnks anways we arent too fussed at this point if the configs arent quite there yet it is a work in progress after all but at least a decent one if at a later date we continue down the path with it i may again ask on your help with the configs (seeing im just a sound nut and not a config builder) but at this stage we are happy with things the way they are ....if you do suddenly get that config working drop me a line and i will throw it in and test the sound balances against the old config (the old one was frommz's work so we arent responsible for missing sections we just expanded what was thereas i said not a config nut but meh what can i say lol) anyways mate thanks for your help ...maybe i downloaded the wrong config but if you can help by all means throw me a line i appreciate it all the best ONI ps the sound does work in the config for the bullet fly by i just cant remember how we configged it at this point its late and just spent 4 or 5 hours testing again just to be certain we didnt screw anything up and im happy that nothing seemed left out i hope you all like the end result i certainly do
  19. thanks for the suggestions mate but at this stage no changes will be made to the mod for a bit we want to take a break and let this sound mod rest on its merits at this stage as for the sound of the bullet flyby's we are looking for a decent one but will stick with this one for the moment and as far as ones from other sound mods thats pretty much taboo and a no go zone we prefer to try and make our own sounds anyways so if we find a better sound for it we will impliment it till then the one we have is what we are sticking to

  22. what you are hearing is the initial firing of the weapon and the 'report' of the weapon once fired unfortunately when shots are recorded the two sounds actually get scrambled together so we altered the sound to put the sound back in as you would hear it in real life all the weapons have it just with some its a little more pronounced than others
  23. that is actually being fixed now mabes we are adjusting the bullet impacts and ricochet's n0ow a final update will be released in the next few days when we are happy with the sound levels so stay tuned
  24. heres the heads up for all you lovers of the claymore a good mate of mine (pingu) has created a working model of the claymore that is completely adjustable in angle and direction once placed like the real ones and also as its a shaped charge has a 10 meter blast radius at first and then from beyond that shrapnel and ball bearings fly forward in an arc up to an effective range of roughly 100 meters to the front arc of the claymore i personally have found it effective against troops and even softskinned and light armoured vehicles if used in interlaced arcs  so i give to you  pingu's claymores (currently in beta stage and a work in progress) links to be posted asap youtube vid: edit here is the mirror: mirror and yes they are able to be used in multiplayer and are comand detonated
