Quote from one single post that says this. There are none. And the question is did they follow their ROEs? Was the warning shot fired at all, and if it was, was it fired in time when the CO ordered? ----- E6 hotel - so because the Iraqis leaders and extremists are bad guys (and no one is disputing they are), does that mean all tactical blunders and friendly fire etc etc committed by coalition forces are their fault? I don't think so. The cold hard fact is that if US followed international law, those 7 people would be alive today.

    War games for pacifists?

First of all, just because people are against the current (illegal) action in Iraq does not neccessarily make them pacifists. Secondly, even if you are a pacifist, why wouldn't you play war based computer games? I used to play Carmageddon, doesn't mean I support running people over in real life. I play GTA, but I don't go around stealing cars. Video games are a form of escapism. They don't have to be tied to your views in the real world. And anyway, many people I know said OFP drove home to them some of the realities od war - how easily soldiers die in a conflict. There is no reset button in real war. So what I am saying is I can see no hypocrisy in being a pacifist and playing war sims.

"If you're not with us, you're against us" right? Anyone care to bet how long before we start hearing from CNN about how opressed the Syrian people are and how one of the 9/11 hijackers once met with the cousin of the wife of a friend of a Syrian General?<span id='postcolor'> Yes, no doubt any country entering the frey on the side of Iraq will suddenly have mysterious links to S11 and Al Quada. Most of the pro-war advocates laughed it off when we expressed concerns this could escalate into a much larger conflict, potentially uniting the muslim/arab nations against the west. Hasn't happened yet, but we are starting to see that it isn't the impossibility many claimed. As for the checkpoint fiasco, I'm with Denoir. Someone, somewhere f**ked up, and needs to be held responsible. But no doubt it will all get swept under the carpet and be lumped in as "acceptable collateral damage". Sure, I can understand the checkpoint guys being twitchy after the recent car bombings, but that's no excuse to get sloppy. They are soldiers, payed to put their life at risk. The Iraqi civilians didn't get any such choice. The first duty of care of the coalition troops is to safeguard the lives of Iraqi civilians. If this means placing themselves in danger to confirm that a vehicle is hostile and not full of innocent children, then so be it.

Raven shield (was RS sp demo out.)

1 more thing - I was very disappointed with the grenades in raven shield. In rogue spear, the grenades bounced properly, and with some skill you could bounce them around corners, down stairs etc. Now, while the grenades do bounce off walls in Raven Shield, when they touch the ground they stick fast like they are stuck in tar.
  5. DKM had some kind of radar scrambling with their Commanche chopper, maybe something similar to that.

Need help w/ my custom face

It could be, I'm not 100%. There may also be a limit on the file size, not too sure. Check out the Avon Lady's FAQ, she has a section on custom faeces.

So when you go to the "custom face" option under the faces in player setup, does it show up just plain white?

Raven shield (was RS sp demo out.)

Well, I got this game on the weekend and have to say I enjoy it. I'm a longstanding fan of the Rainbow Six series. This one has an unnervingly CS feel to it thought, but I think that's just a result of the engine. The true test will be a LAN session. Can't wait for that. I used to play coop Rogue Spear for hours and hours. In fact, that was our game of choice (along with the expansions) until OFP came along. I read in the other thread that you don't need to enter your CD key until you join an online game (weird option for copyright). I was wondering why I wasn't asked for it during install. Wonder if this is true for LAN as well? So far been playing lone wolf, so I can't comment on team command performance. The weapons look very CS in first person, and I really miss the "soft" option of a 3rd person view. Somehow not being able to see my character apart from a hand makes him seem less real to me (as weird as that sounds). Anyway, the AI performance seems quite good, they act fairly unpredicatbly, sometimes running, sometimes fighting, and sometimes even surrendering. They seem to make good use of their equipment too (one guy whacked me after throwing a smoke grenade and then getting up close and personal with his pistol; another dazzled my eyes with the torch attached to his Uzi and then blew me away). I haven't explored many maps yet, but the terrain and objects leave a little to be desired IMHO. They have a somewhat unrealistic look/feel, a bit like Halflife scenery. Anyway, like I said, the trues test will be a LAN session, as I'm a coop gamer all the way.

    Flashlights on guns

I just got Raven Shield on the weekend, and was very impressed. Anyway, in the first mission I play, I rounded the corner to be confronted by a terrorist with a torch on his Uzi. It dazzled my eyes, and the blighter killed me!

It's amazing, but there is a definite mindset in many Americans that Iraq IS somehow responsible for S11, with no evidence being offered. I can't belive how much S11 is being used as a justification for this war.
