Oh yeah, this is gonna be sweet. I can see some battles between the Deltas and Islamic resistance being played out on my PC soon!

OK, a poll for you military types (and other gun experts). Which full powered (7.62x51mm) battle rifle is the best, in terms of accuracy and reliability. The new trend for most armies is towards less powerful rifles (5.56mm etc.) where soldiers can carry more ammo. Also, which armies/militaries still use full-powered rifles?

Quick question - whose side are civilians on? I know by default if you arm a civilian he starts shooting at East, but is that determined by who the resistance are friendly to?

I really like the textures on the M4's, they just sound so "Black Hawk Down'y" and we all know your motto is "BHD was 10 years ago, we aint making addons for that" so... any chance of an updated sound for the m4?? and the SAW and m240 sounds.. Those sounds do sound very "videogamelike". Which side are civilians on?
OxPecker replied to OxPecker's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Thanks. Is there any way to change this, short of changing the civilians side? Say for instance I want the civilians to be friendly to the East, but hostile towards the Resistance. I know I can to this by changing the civlians side to East, but then the Resistance will shoot at them. -

OK, my questions (sorry if they seem silly, but I'm not as well versed in the mechanics of how OFP handles addons as some) - 1. I mightn't be reading this correctly, but are you suggesting 1 installer/exe for each individual addon? Thats sounds like a LOT of downloading, which will put off the casual gamer just as much as the way things are now. It will also mean severs will have to give a list of each individual AAE exe file you will need to download. 2. Will there be compatability issues with existing addons - am I going to have to clear out my addon folders so as to install them? 3. The demo missions - just how basic or complicated will these demo missions be, or be expected to be. Will it be a simple "here is a mission with the new tank - go and blow up some enemy" or will they be 2mb epics featuring latest scripts, custom music and images etc. If they include fancy scripting and such, they might not give a true indication of the addons worth - i.e. scripts might be used to make the addon seem more fucntional than it actually is. All in all though, I think this sounds like an excellent idea. Some sort of addon standardisation is long overdue.

I really like this pack, but I have small nitpicks, regarding the sniper rifles - The M82, as has been noted, should have a lot more kick (recoil), and possible a slightly slower reload time. Also, I don't think it has a reload sound. Finally, I think the firing sound could be better, if you like I will see if I can find a more realistic sound file. The M24 seems to be very underpowered - I was shooting at a squad of enemy sodliers, and finding that it was routinely taking up to 4 or 5 rounds to drop them. You might want to check the damage figure, and make it more equivalent to the ingame M21. Well enough criticism. The weapon I REALLY like is the M16 marksman version, very cool.

Only those wealthy enough receive decent treatment - god help you if you fall ill or suffer an accident and you aren't affluent enough to have health insurance. I'm happy to live in a country that has a public health system, where people aren't left to rot in the gutter if they don't have private health insurance. From a few Americans I know, they find our concept of a public health system quite odd, almost like some sort of socialist ideal.<span id='postcolor'> Here is a case of don't believe everything you read or see on TV. I'm neither wealthy nor affluent, and I have good healthcare and cheap prescriptions. The media tends to center on the plight of a few of the screwed, usually arising out of the evil HMO architecture. If you are poor (dirty poor) then no...you probably don't have health insurance, but that doesn't stop you from recieving treatment at clinics and hospitals. Â There is a problem with senior citizen prescription plans and costs, and that is what Congress is dealing with now. If you have a job, you have some kind of healthcare or another, which extends usually to your entire immediate family. Medicare and government sponsored programs have been underfire and constantly being debated in Congress and the news. It's clear that there is work to do, but people aren't "left to rot in the gutter" either.<span id='postcolor'> Well actually my opinion wasn't based on what I see on TV, but from what some expatriate Americans told me. Still and all, with the info I have at hand, I would have to say our concept of a public health system is a lot fairer to people all the way across the economic spectrum. But possibly the American health system isn't as bad as I've been lead to believe - true enough, I have never seen it first hand.

I know you will scoff and tell me I'm crazy, but if I get a chance I'll ask a friend of mine who is an accountant to explain the nuances of exactly how screwed the American economy really is.

Almost an entire 2 pages in my newpaper this morning were plastered with letters all to the same effect - "See how happy the Iraqis are! I hope all you peace protesters admit you were wrong now!" And to that I have one answer - you really don't understand what they were protesting about. The protests weren't about supporting Saddam, or saying the way he ran his country was OK. They were about the US believing it is above international law, and showing it's willingness to enforce it's own idea of justice on a country whether they (or anyone else) like it or not. I'm sure the crusades were started for the best of intention too.......

This is the first I've heard of this pack, looks great- ftp://ftp.gamesurf.de/pub....071.jpg SJB Special Reaction Team Addons page From the site - </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">After some thought and discussion with various "advisors" within the OFP community, I have decided to make several new weapons for the S.R.T. Can't wait to try this out - in the meantime, can someone post some screens, specifically of the M82?

I really like this M16/M203 pack, and I hope future addon makers think of equipping their units with them.

Does it have coop NAD adversarial MP modes?

I find all this talk of "wow, I can't believe we occupied Bagdad so easily" really interesting. How much of a fight did you expect from a military that is about 1/3 the size now it was during the gulf war, and that is using technology approx. 30 years behind what the US is using? Anyway, I truly hope it is all but over now, for everyone's sakes. [cynicism]Hooray, the good guys won! The "shining beacon of democracy" triumphs again. Another country you can sell Big Macs and re-runs of Friends to! A great victory for world democracy indeed. Forgive us if we aren't all in the streets waving the star spangled banner, some of us are still a little concerned about how readily the US steamrollered the UN and international law to enforce it's own agenda. [/cynicism]
