Ok, heres my problem: Every now and then, when a enemy shoots me the entire game sound suddenly becomes a bunch of static, white noise. Even when i go to menu, all the sounds and music there sound like that. The only way I can fix it is restarting the game. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Also, its worth noting that I installed Reg OpF, then Resistance, Then Gold Upgrade. Im thinking installing them in that order may screw everything up, but I want someone to agree before I start backing up everything and uninstalling.

I already started a thread for mission 5, some interesting tactics so far. It cant be found here. It sounds to me the most effective way of doing it is mining and satchel charging the road, then sticking near or in the town.

So you guys didnt go into the plains at all then?

Ok, I know I whined about mission 4, but i ended up playing as the gunner in the t80 and kicked ass (Damn AI cant shoot for crap) Mission 5 is a whole 'nother ball game though. Where is the best spot to ambush the tank column, and what tactics are best? So far I have tried the low ground near the farmhouse, the high ground near the church, and the farmhouses near the fork in the road. All generally end up with all of my tanks destroyed and my eventual death. Ive tried this mission about 15 times and each time the soviets have about 4 tanks left, even after I launch about 5 RPGs and take out a few.

this mission is really pissing me off. So, the outcome of mission 3 influences mission 4? Took me about 20 tries to beat mission 3, no matter what you do you cant be stealthy about it and the entire castle comes rushing down. Guess ill revert back to it and try again, allthough Resistance is starting to piss me off....

Im not sure if this is Mission 4, but its the one where you start in a group of 9 with two t55s and a bmp at your disposal, and you must take a enemy outpost and a city. How the hell do you beat this? I can get past the outpost just fine, but the city is nigh on impossible since you cannot get anyone to fire. It always goes something like this Me: Target T55 Someone: (Insert Enemy) at (#) O'Clock Someone: (Insert Enemy) at (#) O'Clock Someone: (Insert Enemy) at (#) O'Clock Someone: (Insert Enemy) at (#) O'Clock ...and by this time my group can get off a shot the enemy tanks have already got around 5-6. Is there any way to force the gunner to shoot immediately, or tell the other group members to piss off so I can give an order? Also, at what point should you begin grenadiering the base?

Here, this may help. On the shortcut to Operation Flashpoint, put in -nosplash after the command line, so it looks something like this: F:\OperationFlashpoint\FlashpointResistance.exe -nosplash This will bypass the four splash screens, showing only a small loading thing and then bam, main menu. I use this because you can play the damn game faster Hopefully thisll help.

Hmm, not in there, I guess one hasnt been generated since it wasnt really a crash. Oh well, trial and error is Ok, now to find a couple hours to kill

I think that they should just fix the problems that the OpF1 engine has, and build slightly up from there. The more ambitious you get (Exit wounds, Interactive objects, etc) the more coding and thus, hand in hand, more bugs. That is why OpF had so many bugs at first, it was such an ambitious game that there were bound to be bugs. The OpF2 engine should basically be the OpF1 engine, except much better graphics capabilities and lots of pre-release bug squashing.

Well, i figured it out. Some of my addons WERE causing it, when i removed all unofficial ones the game ran fine. So, my next question is, is there any way to tell what addons are incompatible, other than trial and error? Would the crash report say that info? Where is the crash report file located?

Ok, first up: Windows XP Pentium 3 500MHz Voodoo 5 5500 AGP SB Live 5.1 Platinum 192Mb RAM I can play through the first parts of Resistance just fine, with bad framerates only in the part where you must escape from your office. However, the game always freezes following the long cutscene afterwards. Just after the cinema where Victor is thinking to himself about the choice with the shotgun, the black screen with the white text comes up. A few seconds later, the text moves up a half screen and is cut off. At this point the comp totally freezes up and I have to manually reboot. Fixes I have tried: -I tried setting the virtual memory to 1Gb. No change. -I looked in my BIOS for any AGP settings, the only one i found was Aperature size. (What is this, and where can a person go to update his BIOS?) I have read that a total reinstall wont help, and addons dont affect the game. I open the game with the -nosplash option, but with it on or off makes no difference. I dunno why it would affect crashing, by my settings are all fairly low. The rest of the game runs pretty much like butter, it just crashes here unexplicably. For the love of God, does anybody here have any suggestions whatsoever on how to fix this issue? I have tried my best and read through the forum, nothing seems to help.
