"Oligo, you never replied to my additonal quotes here: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....4;st=58 Are those quotes any better proof?" Oh, these quotes (and the previous ones you posted) are very good proof that there are some really sick puppies in the palestinian ranks that really hate the jewish people. If that alone makes you a nazi, then, they could probably be called nazis. It's just that to me the nazis are people who have a lot more ideology (stupid ideology) than just hatred of jews. You know, they have all that crap about the superiority of the aryan race and whatnot. They are those morons you see standing on the streets with crew cuts, black coats and flags. Ironically in Finland, the nazis would be more than eager to bomb both jews and moslems. Anyway, I still don't think that most of the palestinians believe in the crap those extremist nuts are producing. At least I hope so. Still, the natives are restless, so my advice for you is to pull out from the occupied territories and seal the borders. I really don't think it is worth paying with your blood, because you're trying to hang on to some (apparently) worthless piece of land. But this is just my opinion.

Ask the Germans, who named us “Teufelhunden†(“Devil Dogsâ€) and rated us as “Shock Troops†at Belleau Wood. Ask Japanese Rear Admiral Keiji Shibasaki, who boasted "a million men cannot take Tarawa in 100 years." It took us 76 hours. Ask the Chinese at the Chosin Reservoir, where the 1st Marine Division fought its way through 10 ChiComm divisions.  These 10 divisions were routed and never saw action again in the Korean War. Ask the VietCong, whose fear of USMC scout/sniper Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock led them to offer a $30,000 bounty on his head. Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, Bouganville, Lewis “Chesty†Puller, “Manila John†Basilone, Greg “Pappy†Boyington – read about these battles and Marines and then tell me we’re just another NATO unit. Okay, this one’s probably true – but NOBODY does more with less than we do.  And as any grunt NCO can tell you, “a bitching Marine is a happy Marine.† <span id='postcolor'> I cannot help it, but I noticed that you boasted a lot about Marine accomplishments in WWII. You also claimed that NOBODY does more with less than marines do. I'd like to point out that finnish troops achieved significantly more with less in WWII. You might want to read up on the Winter War, which was one of the preludes to WWII, and the Continuation War, which was fought parallel to the german invasion of Soviet Union. Especially in the Winter War, the finns beat vastly superior forces with abysmal equipment (some of the troops the army only gave an insignia pin and a belt, no weapon included). Our casualties in the Winter War were about 25 000, Soviet casualties were 1 000 000 of the invading 1 500 000. Although we offically 'lost' the war, Finland was not occupied so we retained our independency. Also, the two best snipers in history are finns: Simo Häyhä and Suko Kolkka. By the way, they used iron sights. Statistics So although the marines are good troops, the finns definitely achieved more with less in WWII.

AND the documents are a fact. they show that Arafat was sponsoring terror even before the last 18 months. im sorry that it does go hand in hand with the reality as u want it to be.<span id='postcolor'> Every resistance group has been organized like that. Like the french resistance for example, but then again the germans did call them terrorists so maybe they were. Also the jewish underground resistance groups were organized like this and I bet the brits called them terrorists. Any freedom fighters are called terrorists by the opposing force. The name they are called in history after the conflict is over, is determined by the winner of that conflict. Actually it makes no difference if the israelis get rid of Arafat or not. There will still be terror bombings. Whatever the israelis do, regardless of how much violence they use, regardless of population transfers, some desperate palestinians will still strike back. Such is the power of human determination. Only peace (the terms of which Israel cannot unilaterally dictate) can slow and eventually stop the flood of terror.

Small cells is the standard tactic when resisting overwhelming forces.

Use of such elaborate hate instilling comments does not make those people nazis, but extreme haters of Israelis (which is not the same thing). Besides, even if the PA or whoever would not spread any hate speech at all, the palestinians would still hate you. The sight of your settlements on what they perceive as their land is enough to make them hate you intensively. On the other hand, the fact that you are collecting and quoting such PA hate material just points out that you are trying to draw connections between the very sad part in the history of your people (holocaust) and this conflict you have with some ragtag guerrillas craving for independency. I doubt that reason would drive you to draw such connections, but it must be the emotion instilled by the sight of all the dead bodies in the news.

Defintely safe to say yes. Now try applying your concept of "people need to revert back to reason from the emotion". Do you truly think you could deal with the Nazi's that way? And if so, would 3/4 of Europe to be Nazi and a good portion of Asia be Japanese because the allies came to an amicable settlement?<span id='postcolor'> Ironic fact: I'm from Finland and we were actually allied to Germany in WWII. So we DID deal with the devil against even bigger (to us) devil, the Soviet Union. So I don't really see the WWII as the monumental good versus evil battle which good won as it is so often portrayed. Anyway, that's kind of missing the point. Are you comparing the palestinians to nazis? If you are, I find that comparison lacking anything similar between those two. But that's just me. I'd say that your conflict is about two ordinary peoples stuck into a disagreement about the ownership of some piece of land. And this has escalated skyhigh. Both sides of this conflict are so stuck with their emotional aversion of the other side that any talks of peace are just useless. Thus: "Revert back to reason". It's just a goddamn piece of land.

You don't need propaganda in this conflict to instill hate. All you need to do is to read the news. There it goes: Suicide bombing, military strike, suicide bombing, military strike... Again you try to find the blame in the other side, Avon, when blame is not an issue at all. The attitude of the palestinians is pretty clear: They hate israelis. The israeli attitude I think I know from these sources: -Three israelis I have talked to, because of work related reasons (so these israelis were scientists), all became very emotional when this little war issue was brought up. It was pretty obvious they emotionally hated the palestinians and all other arabs. -Reports in The Time magazine have pointed out growing feelings of hatred towards the palestinians in israel, detected in opinion polls. -Documentaries in the telly have shown interviews of israelis, who seem to think the palestinians are scum. Of course they also showed israelis with a more sober attitude to the conflict. So I feel pretty safe in claiming that there is a sentiment of hate in the israelis as well. But then again, I don't live there, so tell me is this true, Avon?

The problem is the constant escalation of the situation. A palestinan suicide bombing ->israeli retaliation->suicide bombing->israeli retaliation... and so on.<span id='postcolor'> The circle of violence causes escalating hate. When enough hate has accumulated, people start to react with emotion instead of reason. When this happens, it's next to impossible to negotiate anything, since people don't reason anymore, they just feel the hate. Hating people become unwilling to understand the other side at all: "How can those scum do this to us?!" In these situations, opportunistic politicians can play the people any way they like, as long as it is against THEM. So I don't think I am oversimplifying. People need to revert back to reason from the emotion. I seriously doubt that that will ever happen.

"Yes and no. Killing Arafat will not bring peaqce by itself but it will definitrely remove the biggest obstacle to Peace that exists so far." The biggest obstacle to peace is sadly that you (the israelis) intensively hate the palestinians and the palestinians intensively hate you. It's a pretty big obstacle. "Yes and no. While Arafat has been sanctioning, promoting and supporting suicide bombers since Oslo, he does not directly control many of the umbrella and separate organizations that deploy them." Of course you know that the hate of the palestinians is so burning that they will never stop producing extremists willing to suicide bomb you? Even if you achieve peace with a majority of the population, there will be extremists who will bomb and bomb you for years and years. It takes a long time to forget hate. Oh, yeah, you could always kill every palestinian man, woman and child. This would end the hostilities pretty fast.

Could there be another war where the Israelis kick all the arab states again? Hard to say. But Bush can definitely kiss his little war on terror in Iraq goodbye, if the surrounding arab states get still more pissed off as it is.

    T-90.t94

I think the main problem with Iraqis failing to kill any M1s had mostly to do with their sucky ordinance. There are several examples mentioned in Gen. Franks's book Into the Storm, where the Iraqis managed to outmaneuver the yanks and hammer the rear armor of M1s with fire. So it's not that the Iraqis didn't hit the M1s, it's the problem of getting no penetration. You can boast that the armor of M1 is just so fabulous, which I am not going to deny, but you have to remember the Iraqis used STEEL ROD SABOTs. Now I don't even want to go to describing how screwed ordinance that is, because everubody here probably realizes that the penetration power of this ammo is puny. Reast assured, if the Iraqis had DU rounds, there would have been a bunch M1 casualties. The outcome of the war would probably have been the same, though.

And in how many wars has the M1 fought? one What was the best equipment of the enemy in that war? Monkey model T72 with steel SABOTs (the russians have DU SABOTs for T72 you know) Could you have replaced the M1 with any modern MBT and still get the same result? yes Were there any Challengers lost in the Gulf? no

    Why americans scare me

It's the same old story, man: 'The Romantic Outlaw'. Why do you think there are tons of movies depicting robberies from the robber point of view? People love individuals who have the resolve to step outside the common rules and make their own rules. As long as only faceless institutions get hurt. If people get hurt, only then it gets associated with the real world.

"The MG leader got 12 years. I am not sure what the copkillers got. I doubt it was much more though, oddly." It is kind of silly that you get about the same sentence for robbing a load of banks and killing a bunch of people, execution style. Either the people with the money (rich individuals and corporations) have lobbed the property protection laws to be ridiculously tight or then they aren't giving you enough time for killing people. Be it as it may, the punishment for simple theft (no weapons or threatening even involved) is way too high in my opinion. There was this moron who broke in to my place of employment and stole a crappy PC. The cops got him and he actually got jail-time for stealing something like 1000 euros worth of stuff... Ridiculous. "Bthe media attention and outcome it got a very clear message - killing a cop is the worst thing you could do. " I understand that the cops get pissed if one of their own is killed (although ideally they shouldn't), but the reaction of the public always eludes me. I guess people WANT a police force, which doesn't give a fuck if some John Oridinaries are killed, but goes nuts if one of their beloved brethren is slain. If the rule-set is like that, maybe the smart criminal should invest in non-lethal munitions to incapacitate, but not kill, the police officers, who by the way are firing their hollow point bullets designed to fragment in people for maximum damage... The irony.

    Why americans scare me

"Well, as far as I see it, killing a cop is worse than killing a civilian because when you go against the police, you show total lack of respect towards the society as a whole. It is a matter of opinion however. I also happen to think that striking an officer, paramedic or firefighter is worse than striking Joe Benny on the street." That's a different way of seeing things, I guess. But I really fail to see how you can show more lack of respect towards society than by killing Joe Benny on the street. I'd say you pretty much declare your total resignation from the society and all of its values with such act. On the other hand, the cops are often directly on your way threatening your freedom (if you're a criminal), so killing them is more understandable than killing random civilians, since you had a reason (self-defence). Thus you're not necessarily a complete psychopath. I'll stick to my opinions, but I respect your view (your view is what the cops themselves probably think), so we don't need to debate this issue further. BTW, killing paramedics or firefighters is just as killing civilian bystanders = really sick. "As for sniper cover and shooting people. I am quite sure most police officers, in Sweden atleast, would be out of action if you shot them in the leg or something like that. They are not super hero Rambo's, they have families to." What I meant was that if you have a cop covered with four rifles and you tell him to put down his weapon and get the fuck out (you're using the same ROE as the cops), some cops might not obey you, believing that theirs is the position of ultimate authority, unable to grasp the idea that they're outmaneuvered and outgunned. This sort of thing gets people killed. "Recently two police officers were executed by three bank robbers. The cops followed the robbers, who stopped and opened fire on the policecar. The police got out, returned fire and were wounded. The robbers then walked over to the car and executed the two with their own service pistols. They tried to kill a third one later with grenades and automatic fire, but he survived. Incidently, the leader of this gang served time with the leader of the Military Gang. The MG leader immidiatly went public and told the copkillers to surrender and take their medicine. Quite a difference in how they viewed the use of arms. The MG used weapons to shock people into control. The other guys just wanted to kill people." There definitely is a difference between killing a cop in a firefight, because you had no other options, and executing a cop. I find executions repugnant and sick, regardless whether they are committed by individuals or the state. So the MG leader was quite correct in telling those psychotic morons to take their medicine and go back to the nuthouse. The only disciplined and the most effective way to use weapons is to shock people into control. Hell, you even get less jailtime if you do it like that.
