  1. I have seen in some games (eg. Combat Arms) that there are keyboard commands for mouse sensitivity increase and decrease (in Combat Arms it is "[" and "]"), so I had an idea! Why not put keyboard commands for ARMA's draw distance, in that way it is possibly to change it much faster than entering options (especially good for multiplayer). I have seen in one of the preview videos that the demonstrator increased the viewdistance when flying F-35, and then decreased in close combat to remove lag (all this by entering options of course). It could also be used to increase when sniping...

So i guess even on "super"computers it will be hard to have a lagless game so viewdistance command is of great use!

  2. Was there takeoff weight counted in OFP and ARMA?

If not, it would be nice to include in ARMA2, it's quite easy, just few calculations. And in ARMA2 trailers, as seen, you have C-130 planes, so if you load it too much, you might need more runway lenght!

  3. I made a sketch, so something like this:

    the throttle slider UI

    throttle.jpg

this is only a sketch, don't take this for granted.

afterburner extension - above 100% where afterburner goes on.

input throttle - the throttle which you set with keyboard commands.

actual throttle level - the level that engine is at the moment, this is because engine can't set itself inmediatelly on, after you put it to max speed. (especially with big planes, with big engines).

min inertion throttle - it is throttle level at which your plane starts moving on the ground. Apply lower and your plane doesn't move. This is usefull for big planes. Although it doesn't exist in real life (as far as I know). It depends on the takeoff weight.

  4. It would be really nice to bring back the old Herlitz notebook from OFP, the one on map where your objectives are, instead of modern screen-like ARMA panel, it would really bring back the feel of OFP. Or maybe put it as toggleble in options.

And there could also be a page where you can write what you want, like some notes, ideas, strategies, or even draw on page as simply as in ms paint. This also applies for map. smile_o.gifsmile_o.gifsmile_o.gif
