Guess we can all agree that the Mil Mi-28 has just a small place behind the cockpit with no intention to transport troops on daily routine. It can be used as an uncomfortable, small "cabin" for emergency/evac but usually its used as "cargo" space for stuff & tools. No need to get mad over translation or media/marketing bs and go in circles....

Maybe Turkey suffering an earthquake "storm" where one triggered other earthquakes with devastating effect? Just search for North Anatolian Fault.... -
Just curious if you could make one Abrams with diesel engine sound and one with turbine sound or is it impossible? You know just to hear a audible difference between "old" and "modern" vehicles/engines. Could be an idea for a training mission - listen to sounds and guess the right vehicle/faction. :D

Celle 2 is nice and a good playground for CWR2 forces too! :)

ARMA 2: OA beta build 91138 (1.60 MP compatible build, post 1.60 release)
NoRailgunner replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
- have seen this well known OFP/CWA muzzle bug after loading a mission - AI is still not able to get wounded/unconscious player out of vehicles to heal him (maybe have at least the option for player to "get/drop out") - AI is still not able to switch back from handgun/pistol to their rifle (in OFP/CWA one could order AI to use a certain weapon and it worked!!) -
Cross fingers that BIS will improve and add some working unmanned systems eg "Aerosonde SUAS" and a similar vehicle for OPFOR. Any news on functional sensor/radar/EW for surveillance and targeting would be nice. I don't think that it would be very authentic to have all those advanced/modern stuff in A3 but still beeing stuck with certain technology in WW2 or Vietnam war era.
-
It doesn't make it more "authentic" if you just look at pictures and nice teasers/trailers - one has to try A3 before he can truly say "Yes, A3 is authentic!" or "No, this is awesome fail!" Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.... ;)

Do you guys really think that people everywhere do have a choice to choose what they can do? Sorry, but some here only show a "Russia strong!!" attitude. Would you be butthurt if a weapon dealer from another country would be caught and sentenced to lifetime prison or death? Does the country matter or does the action/deal matters? Or would you just like to put a blind eye on crime/(tribal) genocide just because its more comfortable to excuse these atrocities with "political" or "people are worth/not worth" reasons?
-
One pawn less in the political game of power and influence. Others do and will solve their disputes behind the curtain and go on making deals in safe rooms/areas. Of course double standards, lack of morale and humanity can increase the profit - doesn't matter where he or she is coming from. Painting the world in just two colors is just easier for simple-minded people on each side.
-
Guess there are many people who would just like to operate all kind of A3 weapon systems, vehicles and aircrafts in a realistic way. Somewhere BIS have to draw the line and decide whats 'too much pain for just a little gain'. Maybe BIS have already thought about putting some content as test/beta for further A3 builds so they can improve/fix current bigger dev problems/issues first?
-
How much does a soldier care about wind, bullet drag, head or tailwinds? Is wind always constant in force and direction? How important is wind/drag effect in close and medium range for A3 anyway? Wind effect is imo one of those "nice to have" features and could be more interesting for snipers or long range shooting. There are more factors that need to be working very well before A3 could be considered as an "sniper sim" or "artillery sim" or "sailing sim". Let BIS improve + develop the vehicle/aircraft/navy part much more before going into details with stuff that has only a small gain for A3. :)
-
Will those trucks have visual functions eg recovery vehicle with working winch, crane and lift-and-tow system? Or will A3 have the same old invisible repair/refuel/re-ammo beam like in 2001? At least something to see/observe.... ;)

How to improve the Close Quarter Combat experience in Arma 3?
NoRailgunner replied to Intezar's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
One could always fall back and say "its a game", "other games do this and that" but how easy-peasy or "casual" you want to become A3 if there is no feedback to the player eg if he is simply too close to an wall to raise the rifle/machinegun? Imo if BIS going to automate lower/raise weapons they should also consider to include at least one or two auto-steps/animations to avoid clipping weapons/barrels or silly (unrealistic) positions. On the other hand it would be nice to see someone hurting himself just because he thinks that the game will do all the less action/shooting related things for him..... -

whirly thats simply because you know or don't want to know how it feels! Ingame you have to do the same just with an click - otherwise you would sooner or later feel too comfortable/invulnerable with all those magic/unreal "auto" features. ;) -

NoRailgunner replied to Intezar's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
AFAIK "Lower/raise weapon" is ingame since OFP/CWA. Only issue is that people have to do it on their own and not to wait until some auto-magic kicks in. Or is there any logic that weapons should clip through solid walls or objects when they physically can't? Imo players should get or "feel" this feedback of beeing too close to a wall/object. For newbies/recruits there could be a flashing warning symbol until they got used to distances and the barrel lenght or their rifles. ;) -
Tested Zub and it felt good! Just the animal module is randomly + annoying unrealistic. Spawning enemy teams/groups is sometimes too close, for example after the start were the player could use this motorcycle from one of the friendly teams. Btw what about placing another useable truck or technicals (low on fuel + ammo) in the NAPA HQ? Would be good to know if those radio towers should be destroyed or if some of them can be used to listen to radio comms.

Red Hammer Studios: Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - WIP
NoRailgunner replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Good to hear that RHS is not going to disappear silently through the fog of time! Cross fingers that the plans and ambitions of AFRF will make it into CO! Don't feel forced to do "this" or "that" just to make a few guys happy - its your project + spare time after all. Just have fun making all the RF stuff! ;) -
Invasion 1944 v2.6 (CO)
NoRailgunner replied to SFG's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hmmm, aren't those WW2 islands/maps a bit too small for realistic air combat and bombing raids? Chernarus is maybe good enough but a way too modern for WW2 time. Imo you would need bigger WW2 maps/islands so pilots don't have to be spawn right into any battle. On the other hand there were only a very few air-to-air battles at D-Day and later over Normandy. By spring 1944 the Allies were in control of the air over Germany. The P-51 just made it final.... -
Guess its one of those "just cool looking A3 animations" which the AI will/can use on careless (or a new CoolBro' behaviour?). Imo those shaking heads like saying "nononono" and rolling eyeballs aren't that great in A2OA. Hope to see more A3 ingame scenes + infos soon. :)

Arma2 pvp - Did this game change into a RolePlayingGame & PvE Game ?
NoRailgunner replied to oxmox's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Not these bollocks again.... out of 5 PR beta servers - 2 PR servers are only active/playing, one at time with ~80 and the other makes rarely up to the 50. Gameplay is like Zergrush - build FO's (respawn points) as fast as possible and rush'n'kill your enemy. How is it satisfying to play a match where people aren't able to "communicate" + "organize" anything other than simple attack-respawn-attack "strategy"/"tactics"? Maybe try more missions with no-respawns and players who got killed can't connect again until the current match is over? Some simple pvp missions are nice and dandy but those should be imo mixed with missions that are more challenging, crisp & spicy. Otherwise its going to be monotone and boring.... -
@antoineflemming do you still believe in those fairy tales about Captain America vs the axis of evil/dark side? Are you that naive that everything in a game that is BLUFOR has to be always upright and smart while the OPFOR should have to be two-faced, stupid and weak? Why should a game restrict its players to use enemy uniform only to a certain faction/side? Its a feature that has it use and imo the only thing that could be worth discussing is which advantages/disadvantages one would have using it ingame.
-
Guess some people are just afraid that changing uniforms won't be noticed at all and can be used as somekind of "godmode"-cheat. So what would be a good procedure to uncover/verify someones ID? What about some special passwords/phrases or signs, gestures or something else that can't be known by the opponent? Perhaps in 2035 all soldiers are equipped with an life tracker and important facilities are secured with advanced security (sensor/alarm) systems anyway??

Most people who buy a game want to play + enjoy it right after install/setup. They don't want to make their own SP/MP missions in the first place or download tons of addons/mods just to have some fun. If A3 does fail in SP/MP area the only people left are those who are veterans, fanboys or people who like to tinker with something. Of course double or tripple checking stuff is time-consuming and you will need good and patient people to test + fix/tweak this stuff! Quality has its price, but certainly after a period of time everything is re-paid. :)
-
Well as long as people still buying their games or happy with "Here you get some free stuff, now calm down and lets move on!" stuff.... IIRC 80% of those who made a petition against EA's Origin service @ Steam were playing BF3 1-2 days after release. So much about "double standards" and game addiction. No doubts that this award isn't going to hurt EA and within 2-4 weeks nobody will care about it. Maybe just good for another study about people and their short- and long term memory.

What if player can steal uniforms from the drawer/clothes line or ambush a convoy and "surprisingly" find some clean uniforms in the trunk? We can hope that BIS will implement such features as only temporary working. Guess there are simple methods to reveal someone - just watch "Ronin" or "Inglourious Basterds" ;)
