For many players it's just too interesting to use the 3rd person view in any situation! Sometimes its obvious that they have used it to cheat "guess"/"predict" where the enemy is or moving. -
What is bohemia's real business plan/direction for the ARMA game engine in the future

Well DayZ is imo a popular mod because Zombie themes are actually popular. AFAIK persistent database and looting stuff is new to public Arma MP. Imo BIS could use these newly / tested knowledge/insights and add it to A3 MP - for example: a player selects a faction (NATO/Resistance/Iranian Forces) and plays (alone/in team) through certain missions on Limnos. Just imagine this as big pvp/tvt or coop mission on Limnos..... survive/adapt/win. Why BIS should change the core military part of its cashcow or even replace it? Can someone be 100% sure that on A3 release people will still like to kill Zombies or play "horde mode"/"fraggfest" ad nauseum? -

Let's demand that A3 should have its very own & typical mp missions! So people won't say "Ah yes, that's just something I played XX times in CoD and/or BF...." Don't let BIS devs get away with "just copying" stuff that works somehow in shooter games. BIS can make the difference! ;) -

CBA is not required to start A2OA. Check your launcher setup/presets. Btw there is a possibility to (re-) start A2OA with addons/mods just with vanilla A2OA - check/uncheck addons or mods in "Expansion" menu. -
Why is it that most US players think that everyone has to like the comfyness of restrictive systems? Can't you just download/copy-paste something or use a downloader/launcher that doesn't limit the game or the use of custom made addon/mods/missions? Grown up only with consoles, did get all on silver platter - got a pc and is instantly overchallenged doing simple things? What's next - only single-button controllers - just because everything else is "rocket science"?? :rolleyes:

Javelin seems to work again but somehow the AI has some troubles to fire RPG-18. They do target tanks in 100-200m range with RPG-18 on their shoulder but don't fire. Any ideas why they don't pull the trigger? AI with RPG-7 do fire but have some troubles to hit targets - is their OG/VL/VR "aim mode" a little bit buggy now? Tested with different AI skills and speed of target-tanks aka slow/normal/fast which doesn't have an impact on AI with AT shooting and hit/miss the target. If armored target is in range AI should fire their AT weapon as fast as possible and move away/into cover. -

Don't forget to make a LNN (LingorNetworkNews) video/news report with all important people and some tourist/sightseeing marketing! Btw events like Lingor Offroad Championship should be broadcasted on LingorSports channel.... or stream all the Lingor things! :) -

Many of those new players are mostly interested in killing/surving Zombies or RPG concept but not so much in military simulation/gaming. Popularity just for the sake of full servers isn't always good....or does one just prefer the average deathmatches incl kill-respawn-kill gameplay from *insertpopularshooter*? Don't make just a copy of something - make the difference - make it awesome!! :cool: -

@Muahaha IRL usually lower ranked units of your squad are giving/receiving reports to their teamleaders and teamleaders do give/receive their reports to squad leaders etc - its called chain of command (by rank and accountability). In A2OA you still hear each soldier reporting contacts or if they got hit/wounded. Imo its a feature that increase the immersion instead of annoying the player with useless and weird AI report spam "ready/ok/at grid likealltheothers". -

Can you reduce the enemies spawn at the start its kinda strange to be suddenly surrended by groups and vehicles after you supported resistant fighters? Walking back to meeting point the wounded soldier is still lying on the ground. Would be nice to see less animals/traffic at early/late hours and an increase towards 0600-0700 am and 1800-2000 pm. What about making the player knock on doors instead of waiting that someone goes out for a walk at early hour (0400 am)? Imo you could try limit the start area so it wont happen that the start/crash location and NAPA HQ is in Russian controlled area / close to Krasnostav. In some camps soldiers appear half-below surface, sometimes static guns are in tents and sometimes the enemy camp is just ~50m away from friendly... Its an enjoyable mission concept and please stick to it and don't make it too open and filled with just random action/battles here and there. :) -

If you want simple deathmatch stay at the coastline and bigger cities, airport and camps but if you want to find or construct something (vehicle, helicopter...) you have to search & find parts of it. There is nothing else to do.... no getting away from Chernarus, no finding important hints/signs, no apocalypse or pre-emptive nuclear strikes to clean Zombie-infested areas etc. -

Unit insignia were phased out because of security concerns, only rank insignia were allowed on shoulder-straps on field uniforms. Imo there is no need for a unreal aka gamey unit identification system where one can always see a "important" unit from distance. Btw germans in WW2 used different strategy and methods of operations eg tactical command on section/team level (faster decision-making cycles). -
Hmmm... A3 units should act always political correct eg "Oh hello Sir, could you get me some of these magic bandages? I just got hit and this wound is bleeding a little bit here and there.... and thank you very much.... God bless you!" Are we playing a military game or something with unicorns and fluffy bunnies? ;)

One could also ask 'wtf is wrong with some people buying a military game just to play a zombie mod?' But maybe people only got a little bit bored with other games and just trying out something new? -

Now there is a lot of CoD pvp incl. kiddy chat at the coastline/big towns. Some people got just pissed because those pvp players are just waiting close to spawn points to increase their killstats. Maybe include some fast zombie animals aka "Dogs of Chernagorsk" and "Dogs of Elektrozavodsk" to scare off and hunt down spawn/city/building-campers? It would be very good to reduce or limit chat eg "Is this XX 123 server?" or "My screen is black but I can hear gunfire is this a bug?" or "Anyone in Chernarus?" or kiddy chitchat a la "OMG got da shotgunz now Im kill all!!", "mod needs more frag and achievmnts" -

I'm sure BIS devs are able to make and include some typical + unique A3 'quick yet decent, re-playable missions'. But should BIS focus only-mostly on "it could be popular" or more on "let's create something new that is userfriendly and works out of the box"? Its bad if players die just because they suddenly fall down between walls or got injured because some other object/AI collision don't work.... some features/modules are nice but someone put a blind eye on it in "QA/bugfixing/tweaking office" @BIS HQ. -
What about: A3 will be authentic in Armaverse aka alternate reality? Of course we all need more + new infos/pictures/ingame videos to continue our speculations, thoughts, hopes and fears .... :)

Right, BIS can make their own awesome missions! Or one could also ask 'Will or should CoD/BF compete with A3'? Btw why are some people more interested in joining on a 50+/80+ playing servers and assuming that missions that allow only 20/30 players or less are "crap"/"bad"/"shitty/"lame"?? Are the mass multiplayer games automatically better just because they are popular or (over)hyped? -
Well yes with good conditions and clear water one can see ~40m in Plomari/Lesbos. Just hope that BIS doesn't make somekind of static underwater viewdistance. Do you mean the thermocline? :)

A more accessible interface for voting (=> kicking) won't do the job or even replace a good admin. I cross my fingers that BIS will make some awesome mp missions and include some userfriendly tools/features so people can enjoy even more custom missions. Where would be BIS today if they didn't made this great + open sandbox? I think we can agree that A3 should be awesome for many who like to experience a little more milgame/milsim than most other/mainstream shooters have. Now how could a good A3 mission for beginners look like and how he can advance without beeing forced to shoot/kill XXX people or to like too strict character/class limitations? How many people would enjoy playing matches/missions without respawn? -

@batto are you just afraid that A3 will have more challenging default pvp missions then one can play in BF/CoD? Imagine BIS devs will make some brand new/unique missions that do make use of A3 features, the terrain and don't limit players. Just something that will make people say "A3 is different but it's awesome!" Funny one could also claim "More people" = more idiots who run'n'gun, TK, cheat, satchel base/own stuff, instant action/achievements... overall more annoyance and troubles of getting a match done on public servers. Guess why so many prefer to play on locked servers?
