    X-Ray Vision AI

    What happen if you don't make a noise or only move very slowly? If you use addons make sure they don't screw the mission by too high or low default/custom settings.
  2. Betabuilds are a bit smaller ~8MB compared to full "final"/"stable" A2OA updates/patches to download. ;)
  3. Starting A2OA will show you the Desert intro, starting only with A2 shows Utes intro. Just make a clean reinstall eg delete ArmA2OA.cfg and Beta folder/stuff before.
  4. Millenium7 what happen if you start A2OA via link ("Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch") that is in your main A2OA folder?

    AI Improvement

    Interview with Ivan Buchta and there was another one were BIS said (don't shoot me!) that they want to limit/reduce AI actions (performance tweak?) at certain range/distance. It would be good to know if A3 will have a userfriendly AI interface so players can adjust AI settings "on the fly" or via specific AI test/demo missions.

    'Lame connecting' to user made missions

    They probably just jumping through servers to find one which is/will be populated as soon as they joined.... Too many players are playing just the same or similar missions over and over again because they prefer to stick to what they know. Perhaps these players are too afraid of taking the risk and trying something really new out? Maybe just afraid of playing with strangers? Or just "experienced teamplay" with TK's, cheaters, annoying shooter kids etc??

BS, players do use all kind of exploits to cheat incl. adjusting gamma/brightness so they can magically see all the things in the dark/night.... or even play at lowest settings just to achieve most kills/points. The mission/server setup should be used to enforce somekind of basic fairplay for all players.

    What is the first thing you will do in Arma3?

    Notice an OFP/CWA bug ----> goto find some beer. Probably able to crawl back watch AI using their funny tactics, driving or flying skills ------> need moar beer!!! Somehow manage to start MP and watch servers are infested/occupied by casual players who just run'n'gun and care for K/D rate + ranks ===> search for better/ hardcore stuff.

    "Open Alpha" usually means WIP version to test stability and features - no need to get overexcited/hyped or utterly disappointed. Progress of developing software Alpha -> Beta -> RC -> Final.
  12. Simple concept without any long-term objectives/mission goals. Most players see & play DayZ just as "DM with Zombies" or "Zombie skirmish". It is highly unlikely that so many new DayZ players will care about the military/sim origin of Armaverse.

    Players sing and have fun since the release of OFP (now CWA) in 2001..... DayZ is just a inside job that was luckily Alpha-released in the right time were Zombies are somewhat popular. Just imagine no one would care anymore about killing the xxxxxxxxth Zombie horde/spawnblob or played enough survivor games. DayZ is just simple shoot & loot concept, something like public skirmish without any thought on making it more challenging* or giving players an objective/long-term goal. DayZ can be fun for a certain time and its imo most liked/played by casual players. (*other than feature vs feature enhancements)

    Would only make sense if all incl AI will be affected by these features too. Imo its too much pain for a little gain for SP campaign - focus should stay on how the player solves different situations, which decissions he makes and how he makes his way through the story. Some gimmicks and minigames can be nice but it can also turn into annoying stuff that is just implemented to (over)stretch time and nerves. Perhaps we will see such stuff as a module/script template in A3?

    Will ARMA3 feature realistic tank armor?

    Just curious how BIS should know about the exact/real data of all the stuff that is or will be fielded in 2035? Just some awesome speculations? Reading coffee grounds? Highly doubt that technologies and developments will be handed out just to everyone anytime soon.... ;)

    A similar thread was created some time ago.... Imo such "A3 mod/addon request" wishful thinking/dream threads should be open/active if A3 is released. No need to clutter forum twice or multiple time with such threads. Just stay patient, keep cool and maybe even try to learn how to create something.
  21. IF:Lib44 terms and conditions were signed by X1/Awar and KochMedia. Nothing one can really change - just live with it or move to another game that you can mod without bureaucratic approvements and annoyances. Its your spare time, fun and decision.... not really worth to get mad over contracts that you didn't sign! ;)

    ASR AI Skills

    AI depends on CPU power the more/better you got the "better" is default AI. Imo lowest/maximum AI skill and precision setup should be only used for testing. Something like machinegunner configuration (similar to sniper/pilot) could be interesting - so one can adjust the default AI machinegunners to a more realistic/authentic behaviour and hit/kill ratio. Just cross fingers that BIS will give A3 a more userfriendly AI config tool/feature - its about time.

  24. Try without addons/mods to see how it is in vanilla A2OA and then try to find out which addon/mod is overwriting stuff that you like/dislike.

    Hmm.... now Czech team can remember Euro 1996 and try it again. :) Guess today most bet's are on Netherlands and Portugal. German team needs to get beaten once or twice before they get in the right mood/spirit.
