  1. Hmm... just wanted to make a scenario with bad weather but somehow it looks all "too nice"/"too happy". Somehow this muddy / flat look + feeling isn't there anymore or I am missing something else? Tested also with CWR2 - its more like a holiday trip now than getting this "dark" Cold War feeling.... just don't overdo it with "perfect settting" - the natural look is not photoshop'd and HDR'd. :)

    Just an example: A3 OPFOR could have something like upgraded BMPT should A3 BLUFOR players better ragequit + forumwhine because there is no comparable equal/balanced vehicle on their side? Or should someone take him by the hand and show him AT launchers and the SUAS and how to use them? Should BLUFOR get a Blue BMPT just for the sake of "equal", "balanced" and "(exact) counterpart"? Imo the difference is the salt and the motivation why players like to experience the other sides/factions of a game not the comparabel or similar stuff. ;)

    Isn't it just the usual archaic procedure - some tortures and deaths here and there -just like in every good working + healthy "dictoracy". C'mon how can anyone just be so selfish to help someone who has not the same opinion like his dictator/government media/master?? Maybe its just a trendy hippster thingie to support or sympathize with such people who want to see a change but aren't as strong as their dictator.... Now please close your eyes, ears and mouth - nothing about humanity to detect here. :rolleyes:
  4. Hmm, imo shadows and lights need more/better color transition especially if you are walking in the woods or in bigger towns. Still don't know why many game devs try to make their games look all time like a picture-postcard book.... don't they have windows at their office or are they just in deperate need of a holiday? :D
  5. Hi OMAC I also added one soldier (player) to each vehicle to repro it this way but the BMP2 did not spot the Humvee on his start position. The Humvee was only spotted by the BMP2 visible driving on the road towards the next town. Additional I made some test on Desert/Takistan just placing vehicles out of each others sight, behind hills and objects - they did not spot each other (instantly) on preview/mission start. Did you reset/revert AI difficulty or do you have an addon/mod active? What does happen if you set enemy skill (option menu) to 0.5/0.6/0.7 ? Just curious what gives your AI x-ray 360-degree-split-second spotting skills. Didn't experienced spider-sense AI (veteran) in a low-slow crawl beside a walking night patrol within 5m range. On the other hand AI needs sometimes too much time to select and fire at a target beyond 200-300m especially if those are heavy AT soldiers. These AI are firing 2 or 3 Javelins/Metis on one single vehicle of a enemy group/platoon instead of priorizing highest threats and attacking different vehicles/targets of this group. Strange A2OA AI.... :)
  6. Just tested OMAC's SuperBMP2 repro (https://dev-heaven.net/issues/28290#change-138873) and could not repro it on veteran settings. BMP2 got only aware with a "Guard waypoint" at the same place and with the HMMWV + additional waypoint driving towards next village. After contact the BMP2 started shooting, missed and tried to drive through the woods.... Seems to me that some people don't know that switching AI skills to 1 or UltraAI turns AI into "SuperAI" on purpose / just for testing. As for "spider-sense" - maybe increasing the noise feedback for players on movements and decreasing it for AI at reasonable distance could help here?

    batto just speak for yourself and don't use the "we" form like a 12 year old who think its valid to be the spokesperson of all pvp players. Did you read what I suggested eg "casual" / "simulation" mode or that not everything has to have an counterpart. Clearly some pvp players just try (again) to force their "balanced" gameplay or liking on all A3 players. Perhaps just simply ask BIS for authentic/'realistic' implementation of weapon + missile/gun guidance systems? Of course in 2035 all sides/faction could have + use a bit more advanced technology than in the 80's or 2009. Try to find some infos/facts about current systems in use and those which are in development. ;)

    Its simple: if A3 is authentic then there will be some significant difference between sides/factions + their technolgies and the use of them in combat. Why should OPFOR start and continue a (world) war if they don't have any advantage or if all their military knowledge is just on par with Blufor? Guess Blufor will have something up in their sleeve too but that does not mean that everything need to have it's counterpart. Different politics and military forces, different doctrines and strategies.... :) On the other hand: If players don't want to recon the area before they go/fly in - they have to face the surprise. That's clearly not the mission makers or games fault.

    Why is this game not more popular?

    Just ask yourself: is a popular game always or even automatically better than a game which isn't hyped? Is there any good reason to limit game developments just because of the popularity of other games?? Some people just don't like to learn something or get familiar with different gameplay/concepts. Some people are interested and will spend a certain time to get used to "new" game mechanics. Now how to make a game userfriendly without making it "too simple" or dumping it all down to popular kill-respawn-kill-respawn fun action? :)

    I still think it would be tenfold better if BIS would do something more about 'authentic' and cut the gamey/arcade part of A3. Question is how many casual pvp and coop players will like it? How many got just too comfy with gameplay of other popular games and how many people are interested in a different gameplay? Or will it be even possible to switch A3 into "casual" or "simulation" mode?

    Imo its all boils down to BIS refusing to make believable / authentic features for all the things out of the box but instead relying on community to fix and tweak all these things. Equalizing west and east side/faction would be just another step into mainstream/gamey place. What kind of technolgies should be comparable and which should be without an counterpart? Or should there be really no difference at all except only the visual appearance aka camo/color, signs/symbols etc? Maybe the OP is able to elaborate a bit more about what he means with "balanced", "equal technolgy for both west/east side" and "like to feel like both teams are worth playing all the time"? Maybe just some good examples for Arma3 Air, Sea and Land combat?

    It seems that some people are just afraid that BIS could increase the authenticity of Armaverse a little bit? C'mon it can't be so hard to read/inform yourself about advantages/disadvantages of certain A3 weapon systems/vehicles etc.... Maybe ask BIS for some better tutorial/demo missions for MP too? Or is it impossible/out of question to enjoy A3 training and practise on MP? :)

    batto you failed to read/summarized once again. If BIS would want A3 more gamey they would equalize all the things until there is no difference at all. For example every Blufor vehicle = OPFOR vehicle or something like Blue/white = Red/black. Thats a bit too far from 'authentic' and much more from 'milsim'. Imo BIS should leave it to mission makers to balance mission for players. Of course some mission will be pure 'fun mission' and others will be 'hardcore' and perhaps have some 'unfair' challenges. Its survive/adapt/win and not kill/respawn/kill (rank-up)... ;)

    batto why can't you quote correctly? Feeling imba butthurt again? Sorry but in general I've nothing against casual players - just something against those crybabies who can't enjoy a different kind of gameplay. Its like they preach that all games should work like the one or two they have played + liked before.... For example why should the ingame factions be equal? Why should everything have a comparable counterpart? Kinda silly to balance all of the game just for the sake of this crowd. Where is the fun and challenge/surprise? What about this nice feeling to beat a opponent with different or advanced "superior" assets? Or do you only like to play a game/mission if you know that all is well balanced and neatly arranged?

    AFAIK BIS devs said that OPFOR will have some badass stuff. Question is do mission makers and players care about military doctrines or how military works? Most casual players are just happy with (instant) action gameplay, to shoot something and leave with a highest killcount/rank. If they have to think too much about the pros & cons of weapons/vehicles/support/logistics etc they maybe move to another server or simply cry + moan about the shitty imbalance of the game and mission.... War is not a fair game where all sides have the same or similar assets. If players don't like to use their given gear/equipment/ressources in a proper way they have the choice to learn it or to leave it. Why should BIS take care that everyone is feeling treated well "balanced" with candies and sweets like in the land of fluffy bunnies and unicorns? Or is it just a request to babysit most of these players via gamey balance, restrictions and limits? :rolleyes:

    Questions about SP experience

    How one today (outside from BIS HQ + office) should exactly know what kind of A3 campaign missions are done or in progress? Just hope that BIS are doing their best to make an awesome SP experience that is much different + unique to all those action shooter/movie stories. :)

    Celery do you know the definition of equal? Hint - the mathematical symbol is: " = " Guess few pvp mission makers/players just want hardcoded "balance" because its 10 times easier to make fun missions where one just can put 100 vs 100 players without thinking so much about their weapons/gear and other assets. Why don't they just ask/beg/cheer etc BIS to make reasonable realistic assets so they don't have to blame mission makers for releasing "bad" missions? Or is it better to be sure, safe and comfy that the opponent will not gonna have better/advanced stuff ever? No surprises, no challenges - just tacticool fastmoving?

    Well lets get back to topic - Why should BIS make all the things "equal (or near equal) technology for both east/west sides" ? Are some players just too lazy to get familiar with weapons, vehicles and aircrafts or is it just that it can require a little more thinking, planning and communication before the mission (combat/battle) starts?? Or should any game where one can shoot be balanced by default just because its unfair to have to deal with certain/typical advantages and disadvantages? What's wrong having mission parameters/options where people/server admin can choose how they want to play?

    Guess the A3 campaign will have a different "vibe" and that can be great! Hopefully its not about simple black-vs-white / blue-vs-red crap that one can watch and play in many/all action games. Something that is challenging and forces the player to think and act like a human and not like a SuperfutureSEALSASOMGSpecialForce fastmover operating mostly-only with all the cool blingblings. :)

    If BIS would implement proper working radar/electronic warfare, communications/datalinks etc people would cry and moan even more about that A3 is "too hard", "too challenging", "too complex". Casual players do like balanced MP because there is nothing too realistic or too advanced on each side/faction. For them the game is just simple fun shooting / killing for the stats and getting some bonus/rewards for "extraordinary" actions. Imo its a good way to let the players/server admins choose what + how they want to play eg via mission parameters. There is no need to balance all weapons/vehicles and aircrafts so all their counterparts are basically the same eg Blufor MBT = Opfor MBT, Blufor helicopter = Opfor helicopter, Blufor funky weapon system = Opfor funky weapon system.....

    Vehicle Quality

    It's tenfold better if you can see the view "from the seat" and don't be forced to like somekind of instant- or auto-gluefocus through a small and single front persicope. Gain = most if not all players do feel good/great (or somehwat special) about sitting in drivers/gunners/commanders seat and simply enjoying to use all A3 vehicles from 1st person view....
