    You are absolutly right, because we player are official alpha testers.

    If you are not happy with this, uninstall ArmA3 Alpha and wait for the full release. Actually you just preordered ArmA3 via Steam and BIS allows(!!!) you to play an early alpha. Nothing more!

    bored of a old engine

    This iteration of the RV engine is one of the most advanced engines out there. Why you are calling it old? Because it's not newly created from scratch? Because it has no fancy new name and just a new number?

    Most of todays engines has been in development over years and in many iterations without complete redesign (e.g. Elders scrolls).

    I think a mod should close this thread, as we move in circles here.


  2. Right.. if only we was in a studio to QA our game, unfortunately (luckily) the game was on Steam, that is something different, but i won't discuss about this now.

    If I go to ArmA3 Alpha in steamshop, there is this gamedescription:

    Be one of the first to play Arma 3 and contribute to its development by providing feedback
    .

    Having an alpha in steam is NOT something different since steam is now offering their "Eearly Access"-program. You buy an Alpha for helping the developer tracing bugs and getting feedback. Nothing more. You got what you bought.


  3. The toolstip of "Multi-display/mixed GPU acceleration" hints that this option is only related to OpenGL-Renderers. ArmA3 uses an DX10/11 renderer so your better or lower FPS with changing this option is probably just a placebo effect.

    BTW: I have an GTX670 and I get smooth 50-70 FPS while antialiasing is set between 2-8 and 3D-resolution is set to 120%. I disabled postprocessing completely (I hate those effects).


  4. Heyho,

    at the moment I try to restore waypoints of transfered Groups. This could allow the creation of a serverside HC-Addon which turns every non-HC mission into a HC enabled mission. I still have some problems with group locality and rebuilding waypoints. If someone is interested in my scripts, I posted them here: http://www.modfact.net/forum/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=93 (german forum, but the scripts are commented in english).

    I also have a real Server with HC (client with dedicated key - thanks to ArmAX from A3 Supporter Edition). If someone without a real HC wants to test his own HC implementations or missions, just PM me and we can test them on my server.


  5. Q: Could you help and convert mission to the ACE with disable medicine and stamina parts?

    I personally don't play with ACE mod and thus I can't help you with those changes. Adding new units shouldn't be this hard and if you keep original credits, you can edit and rerelease the mission on your own.

    P.S. Maybe I will start working on a ArmA3 Alpha port.

    I renewed the downloadlink in the first post.

    I also added my unfinished Takistan port of Escape Chernarus (I call it unfinished, because I never released it... but everything should work fine).

    Features of the Takistan version:

    • Takistan units (takistan infantry, uh1, BMP, ...)
    • Heli extraction
    • My custom loadout mod for enemy unity (this means more weapons!)
    • Smaller fixes of the original Escape Chernarus from Engima.

    Credits for mission design and most scripts still go to Engima of Östgöta Ops. I just ported this mission and added some features and fixes.


  7. Description:

    With the first updates in the alpha development branch we noticed that the required server version is not readable in the A3 serverbrowser. This makes finding an updated server very difficult.

    This addon makes the "required version"- and servertype-field readable again.

    Features:

    • Moves the servertype in MP-browser one line up to make both, servertype and serverversion, readable.
    • Moves the "players"- and "expensions"- list down, to make those boxes and their headline less ugly.
    • (Obviously) Clientside. Serverkeys included.

    Additional Info:

    I know that ArmA3 is just alpha and I know that with a official UI update/fix this addon will be useless. I just felt that this fix important for further mp testing in steam development branch and I wanted it fixed asap (so I fixed it myself). Perhaps we will expand this addon to a small UI fix compilation, if we see such a demand.


  8. QUESTION NUMBER 1.

    The helicopter at the airfield is some kind of "out of gameplay" (refueling).

    In my edited version, one playerslot is an engineer and is able to repair a broken tailrotor. But I have to say: The mission is too easy, if you aquire a heli.

    QUESTION NUMBER 2.

    Destroy tires or tracks :D But again: The mission would be way to easy, if you aquire a heavy vehicle.

    QUESTION NUMBER 3.

    Just have a look in the missions script files. There is a configurationfile with all used ammoboxes and units.
