Zwobot, Overlord, Mjolnir and whoever else who has different game and forums nickname and want to make them similar, PM a BI moderator. They have changed mine. I'm still waiting for the new forum which was announced by Placebo in a Sahrani Radio interview months (or years?) ago to appear. Then, and only then, I will change my username here
-
That's exactly what I am doing. Thanks for the clarification Sanctuary.

I think this could happen. But it is negligible as long as you don't use any "alien" animations. Like Zuku said, lean/roll animations will crash a server. I usually use the WGL animations (without the lean/roll) and never had any problems (I know of).
-
Yes you can use other animations. However you must not use lean and roll animations like the WGL mod has for example.
-
I was on the server a little while ago and performance was acceptable (ping around 64ms). Don't know how it will work with some more players on the server.
-
I have sent you a PM. As for a WGL coop: I'd still like to play too, but what is the status of the server in the first place? I got the impression that Pulverizer's server does not perform so well with his home connection (not sure though).
-
I liked it too. I want to thank everyone who participated in the a&d session. It was fun and would like to continue with a&d missions, however I am not sure whether the rest of you is willing to continue with it. I definitely see potential for us. There were some (minor) things I did not like so much, but no real "showstoppers". It was a test session after all and I think we would need to find a style of play with these missions we are all more or less comfortable with.

Alright, seems like it's going to be Monday at 20:00 CET. There are only 2 missions on the server at the moment ("PLA Montingac" and "Sharp end"); I'm trying to add some more a&d mission from the fdf mod mission repository if I find some time tomorrow. See you.
-
Ah yeah, nice idea Tony. I've been thinking of making a doodle calendar for this, too. However in my experience only a small part of people participate in these calendars. Well let's see...
-
23:00 is very late. Monday at 20:00 CET? What do you others think?
-
What about next week's Tuesday? Or tell us any other date you are available for the A&D trial.

Yes, leaving the AI out would be the best case. But in my opinion we cannot afford this with the low number of players we have. Alright, so with Variable, Beowulf Staos Six and zwobot we are 5 players (if you all show up). A few more players would be nice, but I hope or think that some might bump in on a short notice... I suggest to meet on the server on Friday at 20:00 CET (same time as the Coop nights normally start).

Hi all, what do you think about playing missions like this: PLA Montignac on the server? It is "PvP Coop" style or A&D (I use those two terms interchangeably). For those of you who are not familiar with A&D (attack and defend) missions: It doesn't mean CTF, TDM or C&H which may come into your mind first when you read PvP. It is more like a Coop mission with human players on either side. So you don't play against AI only but against humans (who command AI groups). The mission linked above is for a maximum of 18 players but the mission designer recommends 5 players on either side (so 10 players in total). With this number of players there would be 1 platoon commander and 4 other humans who are in command of a seperate group with 7 AI soldiers each. The platoon commander is in charge of the other 4 humans and their AI groups and can give them waypoints on the map with the Ofp action menu. Roll call: Who is interested in playing this kind of mission(s)? If there are enough interested players I'd like to try it outside of the regular Ofp Coop nights - I think there would be a lot of moaning if I just wanted to play this kind of mission during a regular Coop night thus I want to do it seperately for now. It requires a bit different style of play then we are used to from the missions we usually play on the server but if you are interested in trying something new report here

Cool! Anyone available for a test game tonight? I'm having troubles connecting to the server, it kicks me after I arrive at the "waiting for server" screen. I think I have all of the addons (wgl5, zcommon) and have removed my custom face in case there is a limit for custom file size... Edit: ah well, I just checked in ofp watch's addon manager and it seems as if I am still missing some addons and files from the zcommon pack (gaia island for instance).

There are various reasons. But it all comes down to this: I don't dislike the "official" models whereas in my opinion some of the replacement models don't fit in very well.

As this thread shows there still is interest in WGL, so it would be nice to have a server dedicated to WGL coops. So what if you would turn on the server for one evening in the week, or maybe once in every two weeks...

Hi, I have no clue about the addons you are talking about but I guess you have put together a custom mission in your editor and want to play it with your brother in a LAN multiplayer game, correct? You have to be aware that editing or scripting for multiplayer has to be done more carefully than for singleplayer missions. You should take a look at snypirs MP tutorial Scripting commands in MP How do scripting commands behave in MP?

Operación Azul - Recovering the Malvinas version 1-0-1 On April 2nd 1982 Argentina occupied the Malvinas/Falklands which by the time were defended only by a small british Royal Marine garrison. You can loop the small sound file with a script and in this way reduce the file size of the mission.

A hasty AAR of some action I had yesterday: My platoon is to attack two small outposts east of the enemy's strongpoint. The LZ is on a relatively flat piece of road a bit south of the objectives: The platoon is dismounting it's transport on the LZ: Some Recce on the objective reveals the first outpost is hardly defended: The enemy attempts a mechanized counter attack which is destroyed by my CAS and AT specialists: The platoon fights it's way through some Spetz Natz patrols to the next, nearby outpost: http://img92.imageshack.us/img92....MG] Bravo advancing towards the objective: http://img291.imageshack.us/img291....MG] Finally both outposts are secured and the platoon is waiting for the extraction: http://img369.imageshack.us/img369....MG] On the way home: http://img77.imageshack.us/img77....MG] The platoon took two outposts with the costs of about 5 friendly KIA and the platoon leader (me) being injured in the course of events.
