Yes they are, but I think the door gunner is better in 1.75, ..I think in 1.85 They usually fire in short burst..wich they usually failed to hit anything.

And have anybody noticed that the MG units is unbelieveble accurate now?...Yeah,I've heard somebody mentioned that theres an incrase in the AI machine gunner unit skill....But I think its kindda wayyyy too much if a soldier armed with PK could hit you straight between the eyes in 500 M radius (while Im in prone position and the AI is only shooting in short burst....sniping with Pk..now thats something new)

Well,sometimes ago after reading this forum I'm kindda lost my intrest to upgrade to V 1.85, But,last night Me and a friend of mine finally DL it and give it a shot in some old SP & MP missions we created with 1.75. So we have noticed some things changed (or..issit only just us). We noticed that in SP..the AI really do recieved some brain jolt,They fight better and use cover more effective, And I personally dont have anything to complain about the Helo's MG gunner. The bottom line is...This patch really do have some improvement. THE BAD THINGS (behaviour without any script, ofcourse). In 1.75 most of the helo's would only just "tapped" shortly into the ground and after the troops ejected they would go into their next WP (sometimes they even took off before all the troops inside disembark, Now thats what i call para drop without script But in 1.85...They would land long enough for all the grunts to disembark..The prob is...sometimes They landed too long, Much much too long i think. And I've read that someone mentioned that the "shakky" probs with small Helo's & shilka wont shoot probs...well I experienced those probs also , And I've noticed that sometimes The AI seems to have trouble following Long distance WP (sometimes they paused AND the worst thing is sometimes they just wont move at all). And for pilots...Now They rarelly crash into each others, But almost impossible to make them fly in formation since the further left or the chopper players in have a tendency to fly off alone And although the grunts fight better now, sometimes they also seems have a probs with direction...I've tried to put "searchndestroy" order to the north,The AI seems have a hard time trying following that

Hello, Im just a newbie on the OFP/OFPR community and been trying to tinker with the editor abit. And can anybody help me about how to make AI soldiers (rifle) shoot at choppers?, Or how to make gunners in choppers(AI) shoot at regular soldiers 1st? Thank you, -

OK,Let's just see this as the "reallistic" side of your expectation, That means this is where you might put something you wanted that you think might and can be done by just a patch. Hope those guy's in BIS would hear us... And for me...i just wanted : - MORE "REASONABLE" AI. C'mon you guy's....at least make the AI DO SOMETHING instead just stood there or go into prone,they(soldiers) even refused to shoot at enemy vehicles with their rifles....isnt that a little funny? - BETTER HIT DETECTION. Please...The land vehicles crews (tank&bmp) were actually imune to rifle fire (Im talkin when they popped out from the hatch, DONT tell me they got a bullet proof helmet and visor)...Damn its hard being a sniper in OFP . thank you,

Not only in t72, I think the invicible crew/cargo happens in almost every vehicles in OFPR

Yep, The AI in R6 series is quite ok, Too bad sometimes the AI in GR/R6 (mostly in R6) got this super human capability and can hit you straight between the eyes(1 shot) with MP5 at 100M radius.( Back in the day of rogue spears...the AI never miss..they spot you or even when you show yourself no matter how little...wham you're dead..thats why i think the "leaning" position actually useless, since they never miss anyway..). Well, the bottom line is every game got their own "highlight", Maybe for small units scaled combat experience GR would suits just fine. But, If you want a big scaled combat experience than...I think you will fit into OFP turf. And..yeah, I think OFP AI need a little "fear",...It's just quite funny when a bunch of AI's just stand there or go prone(while still in formation ) while a chopper actually raining them with bullets.... I won't mind tho...IF i'm in the gunner position

Yeah, I've noticed the "bouncing" problem too, Usually happens in Jeep with MG.

But..I think CC and OFP is rather diffrent..altho..yes, personally I do believe OFP could use a little boost on the AI. But..let's look at these with more logical mind (more suitable to those "matured" member). Don't you peoples think its quite funny....Yes, I even think that the AI and how things works in OFPR dosent show much improvement (some even getting worse). But, instead of cursing and blabbing about it(like a kid), why don't we do this (again) in matured way (well,this...for those who always said he's wayyy more matured than other members), And urge the guys in BIS to come out with something to fix or make this game better. And i got this question that any kid could ask and any grown ups could understand..."why do you buy it?". thank you,

I think you guys at BIS should really fix those damage/bullet hits detection system in OFPR or how things work considering units & vehicles... Well,maybe this more suited in bug forum also, But i think it also suited as a constructive crtics as well. You see...things actually works pretty well in OFP 1.46, But I don't know why things seems to be a little messed up in OFPR (Uh60 cargo invicible to damage,water vehicles boarding and disembarking probs etc,etc). Well, Don't you peoples think It would be very wonderful if only things in OFPR could work at least as smooth as in OFP, and combined with all the new features found on OFPR...I'm sure OFPR would be even more impressive than its already is. And..Yes OFPR actually already quite good compared to other games outthere nowadays,But with a little more tweak...Its gonna be GREAT.

I've found one more bugs... Dunno why but i think OFPR got plenty of bugs around Units &vehicles damage system. - Unit's In UH60 cargo CANNOT get hit, And it seems their damage status is linked to the chopper stat....so theres no way to snipe/hit the cargo..unless you damage the chopper first...and like wise you shoot the chopper and the cargo will share the damage too. It seems quite funny when you go full auto with machine gun and aimed at the cargo seats and nobody get hit or you shoot the choppers tail section and the cargo get hit (in OFP the bullets hit detection is just fine...and btw in OFPR the guy who sit in the inner row always get damaged first)

Yep...that's why i just cant wait for ofp 2 And about the bullet proof glass on HIND...well...actually yes,it do make sense....But,aren't Apache supposed to have bullet proof glass too? Haha...well,I'm riding HIND from now on for sure...

2 more bugs... - The player sometimes invicible when standing behind a glass (seen on 3rd person view) - The pilots on east choppers (HIND&MI) can't be harmed with bullets even tho you spend the entire mag of m60 on them (the glass brake but nothing could harm those guys...well instead an rpg ofcourse)

Hmm..this is about constructive criticism..well here i go.. First of all...I DO really enjoyed the original OFP,Its been awhile since i played and find a ground combat game that have more "sims" elements than action and also have a reasonable big open terrain to play in and wide variety of vehicles for support(firepower and logistic) and transportation. The bottom line is..OFP is one of those grand scaled combat games and actually becomes one of my favorite(I'm personally sick of waves after waves of CQB typed combat games no matter how reallistic or good looking it is) and most appreciated games that comeout in this planet, I think (besides that mid 90's EA SEAL TEAM). Now,for the critics... About the OFP:R...Yes,I DO believe the AI is somewhat improved and really appreciate the graphic improvement . (well,its not like im trying to tell you guys how the things should be done), But..I think you guys could make it more "immersive" Like....with more "logic" AI (such as ifantry do fire at choppers...or run atleast...basicly it makes more sense than just lying there on prone while some choppers actually raining them with bullets etc,etc). And ofcourse we do would really appreciate AI ability to take care of themself (calling in medic,find ammo and shoot enemy). And also besides the AI..graphic also can be really improved besides just adding HW T&L support.... Like maybe a more reallistic damage model... exp.bullets holes/damage really appeared on place where it hit on body,surfaces and vehicles....and also i think the vehicles must be worked a lil bit....instead of "cradboard crush" effect why dont make it more real with explotion and stuff?. (I know its not easy...but dev NOT impossible...flight sims usually have a very good damage visual...so its possible). And the visual effect on the player/unit can and need a lil more tweak..(I'll be frank...the player hand do look like a plastic/doll hand). OH,and the ability to do sort of things would prove usefull...such as the ability to shoot or duck while sitting in cargo (we all are sitting duck on cargo). AND the bullets ability to hit is somehow a little buggy...well,it would be nice if you could actually snipe the driver or pilots (yes i know you can do this in the game...but sometimes driver & pilots were actually invicible...even in some vehicles its quite impossible to hit like the pilots in HIND) (err...yeah maybe this more suited in bug forum). WELL,...my oppinion is OFPR is actually a great game that might and can need a lil more work...keep up the goodwork...thats one helluva game you guys make there...keep up the goodwork. Thank you,

Well,most laughable moments for me in OFPR usually about the AI.... I kindda love to construct mission or campaign for me to play and have fun with OFP & OFPR. Now,I got this mission where me and other friendly groups dropped off in some hot LZ ....In OFP the uh60 gunner were actually useless,he just sit there doing nothing (heck,sometimes i got enemy lining up in front of my of the chopper just waiting for my guys to disembark). So suddenly here comes Resistance...with improved AI...I got excited and bought it asap and fire up the old mission on OFPR. The gunner works quite acceptable in OFPR...but guess what...now its about the pilot Sometimes i must even replay the mission a couple of times before those goons actually reached the waypoint...they keep ramming at each other in midflight.

BUG (maybe it is,maybe its not): - Parachute is invicible to bullet rounds (while in mid air). - Tank or vulcan gunner/commander that pop out from the hatch is invicible to bullet rounds.(they can get hit in OFP) - Put something 2-3 meters away(even a small radio) in front of the AI,And he will always (16 outof 17) turn RIGHT and took a VERY,VERY long turn to reach his waypoints. (The AI is on foot and the waypoint is actually just a couple meters to his LEFT) - The AI can board ship from almost 20 meters away and theres no boarding animation (sometimes the cargo also invicible to bullets). - I dont know if this is a bug or this is how it supposed to work in OFP editor (I'm a noob in ofp/ofpr),But it seems that waypoints can automaticly activated while you are in the air (as a cargo or pilot),Its not very strange if you have fly pass or hover above it , BUT i'm talking about when you are still almost a miles away from the waypoint. (Is the WP activation in OFPR based on visual contact?) Well,actually i think OFP and OFPR is a great game...very impressive actually...and theres no games in this planet ever come out bug free. Besides..theres nothing you guys cant fix....right? I hope theres a patch coming soon for this marvelous game...specially for the AI (The choppers always tend to ram at each other...too often actually).
