150-200 ping is NOT high with bandwidth at least twice that of 90% of players from europe...

Some stupid idiot german players kick you if you have 150+ ping (but not more than 200ms)...I live in usa and that's why ping is higher but my bandwidth is much bigger than any of those european pricks have that kick you if you got 150~200 ping...

I dont want source code to be released. No Way! I just can imagine how many new l337 h@xorz we will be seeing with sc released...Online play is the only thing kept me on playing OFP for the last 2.5 years - and I dont want my gaming experience to be ruined...

I would like to add special fx script to every chopper that would be bought from Air Factory in mfcti 1.16, I can use this script if I put it in chopper's init field like "this exec coolscript.sqs", but where in mfcti1.16 should I edit to add that script ? So far I found EquipCargo.sqs in mfcti1.16 but it doesn't work..I put script there and nothing happens... Could someone give me an idea of where to insert the custom script there for choppers bouhgt from Air Factory ? kthx.

best graphics card for OFP - Nvidia based, had both ATI and Nvidia, and I used to crash back to windows frequently with my 9800 Pro, however, with Nvidia 6800 - not a single crash yet... (I had some random shut downs, not just ofp but computer itself, but later discovered that weak power supply was causing the problem)

Could someone here recommend a few islands good for CTI ? I mean, just the name of islands. I DO NOT NEED MAPS, just a potentional good island suitable to play CTI. I will take care of converting mfcti1.16 to that island myself..cuz there are lots of them but hate to start downloading all of them.. What Im looking for are  - a) good size(teh island itself) b) maneuvrable terrain c) no bugs d) not a huge size (less than 30MB) kthx

well, here is what I read on some website with most of details (www.newsru.com) The combat situation came unexpectedly...noone was gonna storm the building.. two incidents made special forces strom the building: 1) when extrem situation workers were getting corpses out (those who died in teh first day of teh siege), apparently terrorists mined the corspe and it went off 2) chaos broke loose inside the school and hostages were getting out by themselves, terrorists started to shoot them so russian commandos had to act and also made a hole in building so hostages could flee faster... then roof went off...and etc

I had Radeon 9800 Pro and had frequent CTDs (not STDs ) ...at one point I got so confused with driver version and what was happening then I got Nvidia 6800 - and so far not a single crash w/any new driver version..

yes little bit... right now most of noobs like to make their names to look cool with such characters as - unicode symboles, crosses and etc - with russian fonts.pbo you won't see them, instead you'll see russian letters.

we got about 8 active russian teams + tons of players not in clans/squads...and about 3 russian teams with good connection to participate in BIS tournament if it were for real.

hate to ask very commong questions but did you overclock your card ? I have GF 6800 (non ultra) - everything works fine with either factory or forceware drivers...... try using shortcut with "-nomap" key..

Here is my system: Athlon 64 3200 512 PC2100 RAM Nvidia 6800 / Radeon 9800 PRO (both 128MB) 40GB MAXTOR HDD 400WATT PS Windows XP SP1 The problem: whenever I play Operation Flashpoint: Resistance 1.96 my computer randomly shuts down, not even reboots - just screen goes black and computer turns power off like I pressed the power button myself. Now it only happens with OFP..I can play DOOM3 for hours and nothing will shut down - no problems at all, can also play other games - no problem...but when I start OFP - sometimes it takes 5 min or 25 min - sudden shut down...I can boot up computer, everything works, and windows does not give any errors... Here's what I tried so far: 1) Changed video cards, from Radeon 9800 PRO to Nvidia 6800 - problem still exists 2) Overheating - I put the fan size bigger than my head near case and directed airflow to CPU - computer still shuts down 3) Tried manipulating AGP setting from 8x to 4x and disabling fast writes + installing new mobo AGP drivers - problem still exists... My only conclusion is either Im having problems with OFP because my AGP arpeture size is not 64MB...or my power supply is faulty and I need a new one...but then again, OFP requires more power than DOOM3 ?? ? So my final question is - how to set custom AGP arpeture size to 64MB in new forceware drivers(nvidia) ? (I don't have any options in BIOS, tried Riva Tuner/Power Strip - no such options to change)...and also if you possible could provide an answer to what's wrong... NOTE: If I put my GF3-Ti200 instead of Radeon and 6800 - computer works perfectly..I can play OFP for 4 hrs and without single shut down...

yes I have Sound Blaster Live.... btw, mine is not nForce, it's Gigabyte VIA K8VT800M board.. however, I installed new AMD AGP drivers which support AMD64 Cool'N'Quiet feature which manages power, CPU consumption, overheating and stuff and problem seems** to go away..yesterday played CTI for 3 hours and no shut downs..maybe it helped it....if that won't work I will try to remove SB Live (however, my onboard sound is awfull...very crappy quality)...

just play "paintball" a couple of times and see how your ratio will go up when I used to have stats page I made a small adjustment by ignoring scores on some maps that had any instance of "paintball" in it

go to jail for stealing textures ? gimme a f00king break... tim pink, taking from GR and saying that you made that texture = bad, taking from GR and making another addon saying that texture was taken from GR = not stealing...otherwise, every GR modder out there is thief.. personally, I couldnt give a damn about who's textures are...I want addons! and if DFR mod is releasing them instead of bullshiting around - then they are the good guys..

I have Vedeno island from CCM, it's not fully done but still nice...I heard that author is working on releasing both islands: Vedeno and Grozny (both from chechnya)....if he won't release then I might "leak" Vedeno

nah..the idea with locked and pasw'd servers is way off...right now there aren't many people playing OFP online and it will be much less if that "locked server" rule enforced...you would have to remember all passwords and stuff - and what about noobs that dunno anything where to register/find password etc...

looks like the solution to most cheats (not all of them) would be to be able to check for modified .exe file for instance, server patch 1.97 could: a) detect whether user is running beta or fina 1.96 - if none of both it would display filename and message that it is modified with recomendation to kick that player b) would display each user's missioncache folder if modified from server's one (or original OFP)... c) somehow would scan fast res/ofp folder for unknown dirs I think most of these are very possible to do...and please, don't think of me as someone that tells someone what to do..I just think that it will be better to start thinking of anti-cheat system before OFP-2 comes out because I think multiplayer is the major fun element in this game.
