True, in Wolf 3D Germans spoke German, although it was quite rediculous. Wonder why they didn't keep those classic slogans in RTCW . Anyway I like RTCWs multiplayer, it's just that the teamwork is always there. Even the n00bs and l337s work as a team and thats a major achievement from Nerve (guys who did the MP).

Well by joining clan it doesn't mean that the clan becomes your life. I joined clan because I wanted to have good multiplayer experience. It doesn't meant you have to play OFP mp every day if you join a clan. One thing I hate in OFPs mp is the de_dust phenomenon . This means that the same mission is played all over again, again, again... *cough* Battlefield1985 *cough*. Luckily there are some servers that run coops only. I haven't seen true teamwork very much in CTFs, CTIs, C&Hs etc. This is probably because the most popular maps are filled with respawning vehicles, G36s and other tools of deathmatch. CTFs with limited amount of vehicles are good, you have to be more careful because they aren't going to respawn from nowhere. Deathmatch maps are the reason why I love coops, somehow in coops players automatically work as a team (as long as there is good leader). A good example how coop makes the squad work together is when I was playing in LAN with my friends. My friends always liked mindless deathmatch games like SoF, Unreal Tournament etc. (though nothing beats pawnshop map in SoF with 10 players ) but when I showed them OFP things changed. At first they didn't like the game much but when we played nice coop mission, everybody just wanted more and more. Then we tried basic CTF, but only for few minutes because they found it boring and lacking the athmosphere that coop had.

Yes it has, it's just locked but it's there: (from some SoF2 forums) </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">HOW TO ENABLE GORE IN THE DEMO! To enable gore, you install the demo, along with desktop icons, you right click on the icon select properties. in the line at the top after the last word write this +set lock_blood 0 Now go into the game and start a new game hit Shift and Tilde (~) type menu lock. automatically the parental lock screen comes up, hit enter (to enter nothing for a password) and then turn on all the violence, then turn off the game and go back into it, bam you got full violence, and it is damn sweet. hope this helps <span id='postcolor'>

Nice shots there, reminds me of those alien movies from the 60s. And it looks like all the classical characters are back; G-Man, Barney, Walter (where's my crowbar ) and so on.

Not sure if this is a screenshot but anyway it looks quite familiar Well the image above is scanned from PC Gamer, so if you mods find it too illegal just take it down.

True, but I've found all modern pure FPS games like SoF2, RTCW etc. lacking the depth that HL had/still has. So imagine if HL2 (if it will ever be released) would mix everything new like Valve kinda did in the first game. This is the first offical HL2 related announcement from Valve, so I think they have succeeded hiding the project carefully (remember that if you want to show a game in E3 it must playable). Though I'm quite sceptic (sp?) when it comes to release date, somewhere in November 2003, but we'll see .

Actually Vietnam isn't only jungle terrain. I hope that if OFP2 is about 'Nam, BIS will make also some open terrain so that we can have tank battles between T54s, T34s, M60s and whatever they used there.

Excellent work, the cargo script is just soo great, finally we can transport vehicles . Now I REALLY hope someone makes and update to that Mi-26 made by DPS so that it can also transport vehicles . With animated cargo doors of course. Maybe BAS can help in that project .

No flag with bas delta and rangers
N.o.R.S.u replied to Dr Venkman's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Uhm yes you can add a custom patch to these units but the point was that when someone takes the flag in CTF, it wont show on back of the Delta/Ranger operator. -

So I think 4096 Sky´s are possible. MfG Lee<span id='postcolor'> 4096x4096 skies would probably kill your pc , it takes some time to load a 1024x1024 texture in Texview so imagine if the texture would be 4096x4096 . Got it working perfectly now, no more oversized Data3d.pbo , thanks Johann for fixed bat .

The new PBO's should only be about 2MB larger than the original ones. The install bat apparently does not work in Win9x correctly, as the temp files are not deleted between processes of new files resulting in the data3d pbo's getting files from data.pbo in it too. People with those ancient windowses should use the bat posted by Johann (just copypaste his code sample to notepad or something and save it as a .bat into the same dir you have install.bat in and run it)<span id='postcolor'> I see, thanks for the info I'll try installing them again . Could it be possible to make a version with jpg skies, though jpg textures would probably put your comp on its knees .

That's true, people can even now start making new models for OFP2 and then import them when tools are released. And if you have seen the first "screenshot" (soldier with M60) you'll see that the muzzle flash and weapon model looks just like from OFP1. So maybe we can use old addons without any bigger modifications . Personally I voted no for Vietnam, I would like to see a Korean War or some fictional 60s-70s war in Europe.

Obviously it works on some people's computers...so just try it and see....and make a back-up copy of Data.pbo before you do  <span id='postcolor'> Well the new Data3d.pbo files that the installer creates are both 127 megs making them 254 megs in total. Now the original Data3d.pbos are only about 54 megs in total, so these new Data3d.pbos increase the addons size by 200 megs . So it's same if you had about 200 megs of extra addons in your addons folder. Usually when you have about 500 megs in your addons folder, these memory messages can appear very easily, so imagine what happens when you add some 200 megs extra .

Yes it is normal, installer will copy some files making the hisky folder about 585 megs in total .

The record still spins, fantastic work. The dusk & dawn skies reminds me of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. . One problem though, I get crash to desktop sometimes when playing MP with this.
