  1. I extracted the O.pbo with DePBO using Kegetys' tip (remove first 46 digits with Hex-editor) and everything went fine. I can use the files but something is odd. When I try to open a new texture, lets say moto1.pac, with Texture viewer by BIS nothing appears to the editor. Are the textures in Resistance different than those in old OFP? Or did I something wrong?

    I think it will only work in Resistance, because if it's the model from Resistance it has textures that are different from old OFP (high-res textures) and thus will only work in Resistance I think.

    Sounds good, will it have two seats like KA-50 has or is it just corrected V-80? And in case you haven't notice, the icon for V-80 is Hinds icon and also the engine sound is from Hind so there's two small things to correct if possible. Anyway i'm looking forward to this addon .

    Shadows

    I guess you have your Shadows LOD too low (which means actually too high), the shadows will look very bad if shadows LOD aren't something like 0.050 and under. With shadows LOD set to 0.005 shadows will look very good and realistic.

    Umm Link, very high detail terrain needs VERY good computer (better than yours) and besides it might look good but it's not good for playability since all vehicles will just bounce all around the islands. Same goes with high detail, game looks good but it's not very playable. Normal terrain detail looks very good IMO and is very playable and runs smoothly. To L etranger: I checked out the geometry thing again and yes, you are right it doesn't affect at all. But also I found out something. It seems that Resistance has increased the terrain detail by default (just like BIS said it would). The normal terrain detail setting has better terrain detail than old OFP ever had. Very low terrain detail is the one that can be found from old OFP. Thats why I though that geometry performance had something to do with smoothness. So for those who are having slowdowns with the normal terrain detail drop detail to low/very low. It should make the game run as smoothly as in old OFP.

    Now that is really strange, because with 6041 the landscape is smooth and realistic (atleast for me). Gotta check how it will look with 54000.

    There isn't much difference between 1024-4096 but if you go to 512 and under there is difference especially from 512 to 256. This can also be seen in performance.

    Hostages

    I did it this way: Ordered my troops to hold fire, then gave the targets and the Russians never knew what hit them. Freed the hostages, took the Ural and went to hills to attack the camp near Blata. This one was a bit tricky, I took out the bmp with my RPG and then the real fighting started. Luckily all my men were Expert or Veteran level so they had no problem taking out enemy soldiers. We got the camp but right after that the tanks rolled from the hill. Luckily my RGP soldiers took out the T-72 leaving me the both BMPs. It was very nice and challenging mission.

    Just tried your choppers, they are very nice. Great models but (this have been said before for sure) textures on those "black" birds aren't so good. Take a look at Kegetys Kiowa and you'll see black textures with some highlights, those kind of textures would be awesome I think .

    Anyone remember Looking Glass Studios, best and most innovative games ever created but which never sold enough . I seriously hope that EIDOS won't spoil the making of two my most waited games, Thief III and Deus Ex 2.

    Help with mission needed

    That missions was pain, I was doing fine and ready to make the final attack with the tanks but something went wrong and the tanks didn't attack (they just stopped well before the base and didn't do anything). I lost all my men but one and I had to snipe everyone in the base. You can't describe the feeling when the mission was completed, my points were about 72000 .

    Yet another tip: Instead using High terrain detail, increase the Geometry performance (not too much). This makes the terrain much more nicer and doesn't kill your system like High terrain detail may do, and besides with High terrain detail it's very hard to use vehicles because they bounce all the time. I raised the Geometry performance from 2900 to 6041 and the effect was great and it didn't drop my FPS at all. To BoonieRat: did you install the game into a default folder, C:\ProgramFiles\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint ? It helped a bit for me.

    Kegetys has said himself that the Winter Kolgujev won't work in Resitance, so there's the problem.
