Proper release of the littlebirds
N.o.R.S.u replied to SelectThis's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Have you downloaded the zip for 1.46/1.75 or for 1.85? Also when you extract the zip into your addons folder, it makes a new subfolder from where you have to move the pbos to addon folder itself. -
Very nice work, I especially like that you have made some dark rock textures with snow on them (Winter Kolgujev is quite simple, no offense ). Maybe make an updated version of Winter Kolgujev with more texture variety . New winter soldiers and vehicles are also great.

This game looks fantastic. I like to play both realistic and a bit unrealistic FPS games (Unreal and Q3 are too unrealistic ). It looks a lot different than normal todays 3D shooters (RTCW,SoF2,NOLF2 etc.), playing areas look quite large. Weapons look more innovative than normally (AK's, futuristic versions of todays weapons, Makarov(!! ). Also the setting is very interesting IMO, abandonded villages, roads. Not to mention that it's all in Russia which makes this game quite exotic. I'll add this game to my most wanted games list along with Doom3 .

First the basic training for that kind of things in army. Then comes the actual UN training. After UN training, if necessery I will be called to my country's UN peacekeepers platoon for certain time (you never know when the call comes, it could come in the middle of my studies, or when I'm in job). You usually have only one peacekeeper service in your life (for Finnish peacekeepers I mean) because there are lot's of new recruits coming every year. Sorry for going bit off topic.

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">I only hate how people talk about wars. I hate people that have no clue what the word war means in real life. I hate to see deads. I hate to see killed collateral damage children. I hate the smell that burnt bodies cause. I hate not to be able to explain to a civilian why there town was flattened and a completete generation was killed. I hate the economic motives behind wars. I hate the politicians for abusing fears and telling lies to convince their people that war is good. I am doing my part to make this world a little better. I am active UN trooper and have risked my life for people that only were able to survive a few days longer cause we have been there. And what I hate most is ignorance. Ignorance makes stupid. And stupidity makes a lot of people favour wars.<span id='postcolor'> I have to make a golden placard with these words on it (I'm going to UN forces if I can make it through the tests and so ). War against Iraq? Is it really right to go and bomb out those poor Iraqs. Saddam isn't stupid enough to use his WMDs (if he has them that is) because that would only lead to destruction of his country (revenge) and more worse possibly into WW3. I say, let the weapons inspectors fight diplomatically their way to "secret labs" and see if US has an excuse the bomb out one country to stone age.

Best user made co-op missions are of course Blake's missions, http://kyllikki.tiimipeli.net/missions.php

BMP2's AT5 and BMP's AT3 reload time is so slow compared to M2A2's TOW launcher so no wonder that BMP usually looses the battle. Back to topic. AAAV would be nice for amphibious assaults because the M113 is so weak like proved here. Hmm looks like that AAAV isn't very hard to model. I could try to make the model in MD3 format and then someone with 3DS Max could export it into *.3ds for Oxygen.

I watch my entire squad walk right by my corpse in DOD when a sniper nailed me. Not a single one cared.<span id='postcolor'> RTCW is the only WW2 game where players don't ignore their fallen comrades, why? Because you get lots of points if you heal/revive someone. Too bad there isn't realistic version of RTCW, that would rock IMO . -

I hope that is included in this one.<span id='postcolor'> Those athmospheric "whistling" sounds are unfortunately only possible by using modified config.bin (which will cause some problems in MP). So that's you won't see them in normal sound pack . *EDIT* A small suggestion Goeth, could you edit the config.cpp in SoundLDDK.pbo so that FN FAL and HKG3 have right equip pics (the ones in O.pbo are mixed w_fal.paa=hkg3 pic and w_hkg3=fn fal pic).

Sounds good , but could you make these files as separate downloads. I mean I already have good sounds in my Sound.pbo but that second pbo with all new features sounds good. I have good connection so 37megs wont take very long but for modem users it would be nice to see separated downloads . Keep up the good work.

And if you want to edit those tgas, they must be saved with 32bit color palette or TexView won't open them.

So what is the undisputable best sound mod addon?
N.o.R.S.u replied to syco's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I also like Battlesounds pack. Goeth's Resistance sound pack which replaces crappy pistol, FN FAL and HKG3 sounds is a must have also, http://kyllikki.tiimipeli.net/downloads/SoundAmonOfpRv11.zip -
West side: M16+4 mags, LAW+1 missile, binocs, Ingram+mags, 2x mortars (these are really devastating if used right) and NVs if it's night time East side: SVD+5 mags, RPG+2 missiles, binocs, hand grenade, Scorpion+mags Resistance side: Hunting rifle+6 mags, RPG+1 missile, binocs, 2 hand grenades, Ingram+mags XM could also be my weapon of choice for west because it can also use mortars. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">I wish the Night vision was like when you left it on during cutscenes. No blur and full field of view, that way it doesn't reduce your FPS.<span id='postcolor'> It's easy to make NVs have more vision, but it will be consired as cheating in MP .

Muzzle flash textures are in Data.pbo, try searching pac/paa-files which name starts with "zasleh".

I've decided to make some buildings/static objects for OFP, some simple ones at first. But I have no idea what kind of objects and buildings most people are wanting . Any (reasonable) ideas?

There's a config.bin in O.pbo (O\config.bin) which contains the info you need.
