    I was thinking more along the lines of 2 addons in a mission when the two addons do not use the requiredAddons[]. For example, the delta's and MH6 dont use requiredAddons[] because they dont need to, neither addon uses the config or textures/resources of the other. But ingame, they are a pair. So even though the delta's are not technically required to play a mh6 demo mission, it is common sense to use the delta's in that mission for gameplay, enjoyment, and technical reasons (such as goggles/rotorwash). Another small example, the mh47e missions use KLR 250 bikes, not because they are required, but because using them in combination with the Mh47 is one of the addons features, so they are there to give the player chance to check out the options of the addon. But if making the mission using an addon that is not required in the [] config makes the package non-AAE compliant, its seems silly when the mission would be better of for it, and the players first experience of the addon would be more enjoyable. Another example, say the nomad mod, with their big island download. If they later release some soviet / afghan units to fight on the island, as a seperate download, the mission for the units would techincally not be allowed to be on the island, unless the requiredaddons[] is needlesly used, or they are packed in one even bigger download. Â I think using just the addon being installed is a good idea, most of the time,especially for standalone addons (not part of bigger project), its even the bas policy. But there is only 2 (released) bas demos that stick to that policy, because of gameplay or practicality. And one of those, the MH6 demo, is already converted to use Deltas, as it makes sense.

    So what is the bis stance on music in aae missions? Are we allowed to use custom music, or will that bring about such serious legal issues that bis cant dare list them on the aae page? And IF anyone from bis read my posts in the last aae thread, you will know i think the addon only mission restriction is flawed when dealing wither a bigger mod/team that make inter-related, but not interdependant addons. I would seriously prefer to not make missions at all than make missions i have zero interest in, or to work backwards, hacking up old demos so they are worse off for the "update".

    Thanks for info Yamato. I use 282 different objects, across 4 or so pbos, grooaan ;) I thought the texture pbo might be problem, as i use texs from data3d, o.pbo and island.pbo. But bis island use texs from more than one source i think, not sure. "The tough part is replacing the existing objects with the new same file with different subdirectory." Could you please explain that bit some more, im not sure i understand what you mean. I spent an entire day last week hexing and repathing the entire project into 2 pbos, to split into wrp / objects, hope i dont have to reverse that ;)

    Yeah, i like this thread, a good balance for the ofp picture thread. I have always like ofp story threads. It's such a unique game with so many facets, every time it makes for moments that can't be repeated. I still smile when i think of someones story from an old thread like this, about a t55 tearing down a hill, hitting a bump and flying through the air to hit an enemy smack in the head ;) And placebo, i must of been here too long cause i can remember that mine story, which must appear a thousand times in the forum archives ;)

    Heh, last i heard most of those cameras are dummies, they may feed to a screen, but the train companies can't afford to record from them. It might be different with privatisation. They are deterents at least. The cameras in the city though, like King street, they are proper cameras, while its definatley good for curbing / solving crime at night, i dont like the idea of being filmed while walking down the street during the day, or while at traffic lights in a vehice. Theres nothing really to worry about though unless people have something to hide, and even then private investigators are more likely to be the ones stomping over people privacy, considering "big brother" would hardly care about most peoples doings and indiscretions. Cameras for security are a great invention, but cameras for public surveillance are questionable without a defined and limited purpose (imo).

    I tried all these methods, no change. The easy part is getting everything to appear in bulldozer. The hard part is exporting it properly for game. Its either no export, the 21kb wrp, or just terrain with all object icons replaced with a tree one, and crashing on preview. Ah well, at least my isle was nearly finished anyway.

    Nice work lobanak, I cant imagine bis, players, island makers or web mirrors to be too happy about every island containing half the p3ds in O and data3d.pbo, its too bad i guess, but still early days so maybe there is trick to it About the addon textures, you can always hexedit the paths of the ODOL models, with something like UltraEdit. Just use the replace function to replace something like "data3d\tex.paa" to "islename\tex.paa" ,easy as text editing.

    I dont know what anyone expects to gain from an english version, there is only so much text in the whole program, not enough to have to learn how to "read" czech, and not like it will suddenly make islands a breeze to make (good ones, mediocre ones will be sure to start flowing anytime now). Its part english anyway, some the czech words are already explained, and hopefully the rest will be over the next few weeks. The most czech ive seen it is in the configuration settings, which seem to be related to colors of objects, no big deal. We dont even have to learn the czech words, just recognize the lines visually. It aint too hard to connect the visual pattern of  the letters "siti" to the word road, or at lest make the connection in the brain for long enough to click a tiny menu item. Ive been making an island since the first few days of wrpedit release, like lots of people, so to me the language is of minor importance compared to the multi-pbo problem. The way it is atm i will not even be using visitor for my current island. Now thats something to complain about Â

    In the system options, a few more: Update of visitor following cursor position changes (text dissappears from there): nikdy (synchronizace polohy se neprovadi) = ? poi poechodu na kurzor (dle posledniho stavu) = ? prubizni (nedoporueeno pro naroenost) = ? And in Object manger, under recalculate object elevation : zachovat relativni posun objektu = ? relativni posun vylky nastavit na 0 = ? edit, btw, heres some word of wisdom from one of the online translators: Natural objects , store bread as trees humanity objective Artificial objects , store bread as gosling woods

    Yeah, i finally got one export working once using .\, but ingame there was nothing, just terrain, all objects and texs were missing, same in wrpedit, the wrp gave out .\ as the model paths. The nogova wrp uses data3d.pbo and o.pbo obects, so maybe it is possible to use o.pbo and a custom pbo for example, just need to find out how.

    Hmm, ive been trying to export for hours, trying every way i could think of, but no change, same results as above. Everything else is working aside from constant bulldozer crashing when the .pew is loaded. Im really at a dead end, as there's not much use making changes if i cant get them back into wrp format.

    Yeah im having trouble with exporting too; if it works at all, beside a blank hpp, i get a 20kb wrp, down a little bit from the 3.5 mb orginal. If anyone has any tips for this i'd like to hear them.

    Maybe some of the kind forum folk can help us with some of these words, we dont really need to learn a new language, just the meaning of a few words to make working easier. For starters what about the ones in the main list (the words below dont have all the ' things though), the filled in ones are from kegs tute. krajina - textury = Terrain textures and surfaces poirodni objekty = Natural objects, such as trees lidske objekty = Artificial objects, such as houses lesy   = Forests siti    = Roads pojmenovane oblasti = ? klieove body = ? pojmenovane objekty = ? animace - snimky = ?

    SFG what happens when it freezes?, does bulldozer crash?, i used the method above with no problem. It seems unresponsive when i first import, then i click on bulldozer, it gives error message and crashes, then i reload bulldozer using the start menu > run box, then the import continues and all is fine.

    Here's a new island pic: Isle Pic Things are going well on it, Eviscerator and Ebud have been working on the project over a few weeks, making alot of difference to the overall feel of the place, and with visitor out things are only getting better ;)

    If you're having trouble d/ling it, just right click on the link and choose "save as", then its seems to work fine.

    Yeah, the new camel baks are very impressive, easily professional quality textures and then some, not to mention realistic looking (more than ghost recon imo), delta / ranger fans will be sure to love them.
