NS might be small but however if you look at Cypriot army for example, they have T-80s, BMP-3s, Mi-35s and modern gear for their troops . A modernized T-72 with latest gizmos and ammunition would be fair addition and like it's said before, there doesn't need to be lots of them but just a few in campaign to create more challenge for Abrams crews. Though I have beaten those two BIS M1A1 tanks with a T-72 in Blake's Band of Comrades mission 2 .
-
Exactly my thoughts, even if unused in the campaign for "NS being too poor to get modern russian stuffs" reasons , i hope the NS side will have access, at least for mission making, to some modern russian equipment to offer a bit more than "modern weapons and vehicles vs eighties tanks and weapons" scenarios. Some modern russian equipment with the same BIS quality we have seen so far in the screenshots so far would be really great. The latest video shows us Ka-50. That's pretty rare and modern unit so perhaps there will be another surprises .

An upgraded version of T-72 with ERA and other modern stuff would have been a nice balance and addition. Making one should be pretty easy and there's still lots of development time left .
-
It's still a working feature on OFP engine even if it isn't in the current commercial version of VBS1. The videos here should make my point clear .
-
I found this very odd because VBS1 already has this feature quite nicely done. Oh well can't have everything .

Looks awesome. I would really like to see similar hires shots of the new greater view distance in action . Only thing I hope now is that BIS makes proper LODs for every model like in Flashpoint so we don't have objects popping up and landscape turning into soup like in Oblivion.
-
On the other hand US troops have an advantage on desert terrain .

Current MacPros beat PCs price/performance-wise. Just check the stats and try to make a PC with same components and same price (essentially it's a PC, only the OSX is makes it a Mac :P). But when it comes to 1000$/€ gaming machine, PC is still the king.
-
Looks fair enough, though I hope minimum specs aren't for slideshow quality like in most todays games . Hopefully ArmA uses memory wisely so that 1Gb is really enough for smooth gameplay.

I have Creative MuVo 512Mb which I use for listening MP3s, WMAs etc. I also use it as an USB stick. I have no need for Ipod, MuVo is enough for a simple guy like me .

Taken from model config, class Vodnik: Car Maybe we'll have GAZ Vodnik in ArmA . New config & script commands look excellent so far .

To me neither. Material is different, there's a small collar in AA vest and Molle has more places for attached gear. It might be locally producted vest, something that BIS invented to make the enemy soldiers look a bit more professional . The whole Sahrani is fictional so I don't a reason why there can't be some small fictional gear.

It can also be a raincloak or full rainwear as it's much smaller than an army bedroll. Example

A deserved victory for Italy this time. Although I'm pretty dissappointed that Italy went all the way to final after that Australia match. Also those referee bribings in Italy's biggest league... just sad . Don't get me wrong. I like when they play good football like in this match but latest events haven't really raised my respect towards them.
-
Just tried it and... well it's pretty strange game but I liked it . Like said before levels are pretty straightforward but I don't really mind as long as level design is good and stays fresh .
-
When we look at Sahrani Google Earth picture we'll see that only small southern part of it is desert. I think it's quite logical to have woodland camo on vehicles . Some exaples from Iraq: Abrams Bradley and of course Stryker But I'm sure our great community will make nice desert paintings in few days after release anyway .

Only 1200 meter view distance with a machine of that caliber ? I surely hope that we can use longer view distances than 1200 meters with middle range computers .
-
In OFP shadows are generated from lower model lods.

Too much blood !? In my copy there's barely any blood and those rare blood splashes disappears after few seconds anyway. (picture from Peliplaneetta)
-
10km view distance sounds awesome . I also hope that the 20 seconds "living time" for missiles etc. is removed because that is the main problem with artillery in current OFP.
-
That's the best OFP "combat photograph" I've ever seen. Very nicely captured explosions and carnage.

Negative. When you increase map size to 25.6km x 25.6km from 12.8km x 12.8km you'll see that grids increase too. So the grids in ArmA screenshots can be and probably are 256m x 256m. Try a_lone_wolf's WRP double ot WRP quad addons and you'll see . a_lone_wolf's site

Scenes where player is shooting enemies in first person were definately from ArmA. Rest of the scenes where we could see Huey helicopter, T-90 and that funky fighter plane were probably from Game2.
