With -The "off-highway" bug was fixed.- you mean the car has now limited speed during cross country travel, restricting it more to streets, right? If yes, I am really pleased to hear that. I am currently working on a custom serial killer version, where I really need that nogova squad car for, thus I hope the police version will make it in the final pack. Keep up the good work! Â

Good news, indeed!
You guys at BIS also planning to adress the "is loosing connection" issue? This bug spoils the mp experience for a lot of us players. Would be great if you could do something about it...

It only happened once for me, thus you simply might not have encountered the bug yet. Most of the time the choppers are unarmed. The sudden appearance of the missiles on the police chopper probably is triggered by some event.

We really need another patch that solves certain mulitplayer bugs, like when your whole partition gets erased, or the timeout-bug, which seems to be related to the crashes to the desktop.

I just had several games with many players, where i timed out a few times. In some games, I could see that at least one person was timing out just before me.
This is very very annoying.

I have not seen any of these listed on their project page. If they do, they should let others know. It would be a kind of a waste, if 2 or more high quality mods are basically doing the same stuff.

With all those OPFOR units with mounted machineguns, wouldn't it be a nice idea to make an OPFOR Mi-17/Mi-8 in several loadouts, with a varying number of hardpoints. So you could give OPFOR decent air support, which would start with a PK mounted transport version up to gunship versions with different armament like:
2 - 7.62-mm or 1x 12.7-mm MG
4-6 - AT-2C Swatter or AT-3 Sagger ATGMs
4-6 - 57-mm rocket pods (16 each)
2 - 80-mm rocket pods (20 each)
4 - 250-kg bombs
2 - 500-kg bombs
2 - 12.7-mm MG pod
2 - Twin 23-mm gun pods
You could maybe also make the E version which has the characteristic nose mounted 12.7mm machinegun with 6 hardpoints like the one featured in OFP. If you don't have any plans in doing this, let us know, so that maybe another mod-team could concentrate on this. Although, with those nice mgs you put on the brdm and uaz, i'd really liked to see this done by you.

Any progress? I would really like to see a nogova police version, and have the car's offroad performance reduced so it's more like the skodas.
EDIT: I think that the best way to set the values would be to give it the speed on field paths and cross-country that equals BIS' mini, however just the normal top-speed of the skoda. That way, you could still keep up with a mini off-road, but it could loose you on a solid street very easily. What do you think? With these values, it would be balanced well with the other civilian cars. Right now, it sounds and drives just like a uaz with different hull, which simply should not be.

I played around with the mi-2 police today, and suddenly i had 4 sagger missiles with it. No idea how that could happen...

Errm, afaik the Chinese have the world's largest air-power. Although mostly outdated aircraft, the sheer numbers can give any invader hell for sure.

Sure, but it's not the same. For example I hate to use a Mi17 in a mission without the missiles or with less missiles, while the racks are still visible on the sides. I'd simply like to have the proper visuals to the proper armarment. Call it a principle thingie, if you want to.

The only real problem I have with the choppers is that extra aircooler "feature", which - in my opinion - is absolutely unneccessary as it adds an extra line to the action menue which is not needed.
For any future release, I'd suggest to maybe include a Soviet version with just the PK and w/o the mounted forward firing autocannons. Another thing that would be great is to make the police versions a little more like the previously released nogovan police one, where there was a gunner slot for using binoculars and custom megaphone sounds that can be played via the actionmenu.
Still, the mi-2 pack remains a top-notch addon, which simply is a must download.

I just had one of these nice timeout experiences in OFP again. Of around 5 different maps I played online this evening, i got a timeout on 2 occassions, and was dropped to the desktop because OFP closed itself on another 2 times. Now this is really really really really starting to annoy me.

We have been reporting this bug for months now, and there was not a single reply from behalf of BIS in this troubleshooting forum. This bug is happening very often nowadays. Maybe there is something wrong with the Netcode, maybe it is triggered by certain commands, but it certainly DOES EXIST. If you ignore this, chances are high that it will be still present with OFP2.
Even though this bug appears very frequently, it seems that it is limited to a certain group of players only. But don't underestimate the number of players, who encountering this bug, as when you play online, there are many people EVERY game that are "loosing connection". My clanmates and I have observed that most of the time quite a number of players are suffering from this timeoutbug at the same time. As sometimes two or more people of my clan are timing out, we could see that the timeout seems to be related to the sudden closure of OFP, where you are dropped to the desktop. Chances are very high that if one player's OFP shuts down without warning, the some player's who are on the same server are loosing connection.
Can you folks at BIS please look into this, and provide us with a fix for this very unpleasent experience? Especially in the already weakening Mulitplayer segment of OFP, bugs like this are not really helping in keeping a large clan community.
Please stop ignoring this problem like you seem to have done in the past, or if you are aware of it and unable to pinpoint the reason, still give us a little statement. It is one of the few bugs left in the OFP netcode it seems, but it is definetely one of the most annoying ones to encounter, especially during league matches. Please, talk to us!

A nogova police car would be great. However, it would be great if the terrain physics would be more like the sports car, so that you are bound more to the roads and not have a good cross-country capability. It would complement the police jeep nicely then, as you would have a 4 seater road car, and a 2 seater jeep

I'm aware of this but due to the nature of the "one-gunner-only" thingie, the mod will not be what a Warhammer mod could be. Well, if OFP2 has some improvements in this field, I'll start a proper 40k mod myself, but right now I think it's pointless.

When looking at previously released BAS stuff, you should be able to answer this yourself.

nah, a spg-9 would be nice. Just asking out of curiosity, wouldn't it be rather seen on a GAZ or a similar vehicle with cargo space than an UAZ, though? Â

okay because that would ruin both packs if there was no balance between them.I agree, balance is the key! Even though there are different mod teams, consistency should be tried to achieved wherever possible between each mod.
