Realpolitik for you. Germany alone is indeed not politically strong enough to do much on its own, and last time we opposed the US together with some other countries it split the EU, with the UK, Spain etc. on one side and France and Germany etc. on the other side. I don't think anyone is in the mood to take that risk again. Especially since most agree that something has to happen in Iraq, no matter who's in charge there. It's sad to see Bush&Co get what they always wanted and it's really sad to know we in Europe are going to pay to rebuild what the US with its we-make-it-our-way-war destroyed. But whats the alternative? To wait until Bush comes beggin on his knees and handing over authority in Iraq to the UN? That's not going to happen. I wish I knew a way out that helped the iraqi people at punished Bush at the same time.

Currently most if not all screens lack the contrast and "readability" normal paper has. After staring at the screen for a longer time my eyes start to hurt. If that new technology actually is as eye friendly as paper is I guess I'm going to buy it sooner or later, as a replacement of my usual paper-mess.

I wish I could view politics as simplistic as this man does. Would really help a lot, eh. Â edit: well my spelling is on one level with that mindset

It's not as official as it it sounds (yea im a silly fanboy still hoping to get HL2 on 30.9. ), Shacknews claim they got an email from valve, but they seem to be the only site that got such an email. Wouldn't be the first time a website makes emails up... Or to say it in offtopic-forum-speech: "Where's the proof?" I still have some hope left because they pushed the steam release forward when it wasn't quite out of beta, and we need steam for HL2 so that could support the "it's all smoke and mirror-PR-theory" and we'll surprisingly get it on 30.9. Am I out of touch with reality eventually? Am I really discussing HL2 release and valve-theory in the sacred halls of OFP? Anyways... Concerning DOOM3 model details, the polycount isn't actually as high as it seems to be, they are just damn good at working with pixel shaders!

Are you sure about HL being based on Quake2? I was always under the assumption it was based on the Quake1 engine, although heavily modified. I don't know.

It's not like it was in WW2 when they avoided light at night if possible. Today with modern technology it doesn't really matter how much you try to cloak your AB, the enemy _will_ see it. It's not like it's a big secret where they are.

Nice game, I scored 35/40... blame it on my crappy screen, it really looked like 720 yards to me, not 750...

First question: How Stuff works - Night Vision - edit: damn cam0flage you beat me! Your second question: Since I'm too lazy to search the web I'll try (and probably fail  ) to explain it in my own words. Actually the bullet doesn't hit where you are aiming at, or more correctly, usually it does at two distances. (Leaving wind drift out of the equation for now) Imagine the path of the bullet as an ballistic curve! Like when you throw a ball, it rises at first (Usually a bullet rises only a few cm). At one point, lets say after it traveled a few meters, it will cross your line of sight. If it hits your target at this distance it will be right where you aimed. When the bullet continues to travel it may rise a little bit more and then gravity eventually starts to drag it down. It will cross your line of sight a second time. Again if you hit your target at that distance it will be where you aimed at. What you do is you adjust your scope so it will hit targets at the distance you intend to shoot at your targets, you "zero" it at that distance. You also have markings in the scope so you can take the bullet drop at different distances into the equation. Now if all that makes sense to you consider yourself smart.  If not someone with more english-skill may step in and help us out. Â

Oh they will try everything to get us nerds in our basements to eventually see the sun. -
Latvians last to vote on EU membership Almost missed it.
-
Want to bet on it? Ok maybe that is unique. On the other hand I'm no expert and maybe someone will find a way to beat this, since we all know how word lenght is related to...
-
Latvians vote a clear "yes" to EU membership. According to german news broadcaster n-tv about 69% voted "yes" and about 31% voted "no". (Voter turnout around 68%) Welcome to the EU!
-
It's not like we couldn't beat it if we want to.
-
To be honest the difference between german and swedish names isn't that big, as far as I know. Sven, Mattias, Magnus, Karl, what ever.
-
Then why did I have to spend all those years trying to learn proper spelling! grrrr waste of time! But beware the language police is coming upon us!
-
This is euro-related in which way?
-
My thought exactly!

He reloaded before the brass hit the ground... amazing! edit: Refering to "Live Reload"
-
Good news anyways!
-
I was refering to the people on this board, most of them are pro Euro. I was just asking you to give us more informations why you are against it to help us understand your position.
-
Since you seem to be almost the only one who welcomes the outcome of this vote, can you maybe explaine why exactly you think it's a good think if Sweden doen't become part of the EMU?
-
Today the people in Estonia vote on becoming an EU member or not and it looks like they are going to vote "yes". euobserver.com : Polls show huge backing for EU in Estonia I hope they will in fact for EU membership and see this as a good sign.
-
Welcome to the EU Estonia!
-
Looks like the "no" side is winning, polls taken at the polling stations indicate that.
