Blunt;1402137']Set the value in-game to default then edit the memoryVRAM value in the config file. This value should be in bytes. If you have 2gigs it should be "2147483648"
Let me know if it works.
Hi.
Thanks. I'm gonna set it to DEFAULT in-game.
Here is my ArmA2.cfg
language="English"; adapter=-1; 3D_Performance=-4194304; Resolution_Bpp=32; Resolution_W=1680; Resolution_H=1050; refresh=60; Render_W=1680; Render_H=1050; FSAA=2; postFX=0; HDRPrecision=8; lastDeviceId=""; localVRAM=2128281600; nonlocalVRAM=1878282240;
I haven't had any problem with ArmA2, but i like to try the DEFAULT setting in Video Memory. I let you know if i run into some problems.
Thanks ;)

Hi.
I found them on this first thread, Page 1 :)
Thanks for your find. That's mean i have to set my Video Memory to DEFAULT, since i have 2GB of GPU RAM :)

Hi.
Is this correct:
LOW = 256-320MB MED = for 512MB HIGH = 1024MB (1GB) V.HIGH = 2048MB (2GB)
Can someone from BIS confirm this. Can't see any info of this anywhere, not in the manual or WIKI.
Thanks.

My ArmA2 are running stable on my system.
Look at my Signature.
Here is my ArmA2.cfg:
language="English"; adapter=-1; 3D_Performance=-4194304; Resolution_Bpp=32; Resolution_W=1680; Resolution_H=1050; refresh=60; Render_W=1680; Render_H=1050; FSAA=2; postFX=0; HDRPrecision=8; lastDeviceId=""; localVRAM=2128281600; nonlocalVRAM=1878282240;
My paging file(Virtual Memory) are set to "Automatically manage paging file size for all drivers" Only my system disk is set to do that all other partitions and drivers are off.
Minimum allowed: 16 MB
Recommended: 6139 MB
Currently allocated: 4393 MB

Anyone have some settings i should use in diskeeper 2009/UltimateDefrag/PerfectDisk for ArmA2?
Thanks :)
EDIT: What's the best defrag for Windows Vista?

Well, after some testing of the new patch 1.03 i didn't found any problems, more smooth game play. Same FPS in game... well maybe a new CPU will give me more FPS.. since ArmA2 use lot of horsepower. But the overall performance are "OK" i can live with it..:)

Hello everyone,2 days ago I started trying to set up a dedicated server with the help of JMan's guide. Although I feel like I've done everything correctly, my server isn't showing up in the server list in Arma2.
My 2 files, Arma2server.cfg and Arma2.cfg, are in a folder called Arma2server in the Arma2 installation folder.
And if this might help, this is my command line:
"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\ArmA2Server.exe" -port=2302 -name=Arma2server -config=Arma2server\Arma2.cfg -cfg=Arma2server\Arma2server.cfg -profiles=Arma2server
(Btw, this is supposed to be put in the target line at the shortcut properties right?)
Thanks in advance:)
Hi.
Try to set your arma2 server as a Virtual Server in your router if you have that settings.
I had same problem, but after i set as a virtual server with another port than 2302.. My server went public.

Hmm. i don't have any problems with my new GTX 285 and ArmA2. Got more FPS and more stable FPS than my old 8800GTX. And i'm using the newest nvidia drivers.
---------- Post added at 08:00 ---------- Previous post was at 07:52 ----------
Nvidia GTX 295 Settings for Arma 2PHYSX - Disabled
Antialiasing - Gamma Correction - ON
Antialiasing - Mode - Application Controlled
Maximum pre-rendered frames - 8
Multi-GPU performance mode NVIDIA recommended (MULTI-GPU)
Multi-display/mixed-GPU Acceleration - Single display performance mode
Remainder are default.
Suggestions for improvement ?
Hi.
Try to set all the NVIDIA Control Panel t default in the Basic and do the same for your arma2 profile in NV CP.
Set Antialiasing - Gamma Correction - OFF
That's the only thing i have edit in my NV CP.
I don't use nHancer ether only for some other games.
All my ArmA2 settings are in game.
Try all that and see if you still have texture problems.
- Maybe use 4 GB RAM in your computer instead, no SLI only one GPU

Hi.
Power management mode:
Description:
This feature allows you to set a preference for your graphics card's performance level when running 3D applications.
- Adaptive allows the graphics driver to automatically determine the proper performance state based on GPU usage. This mode helps save power when 3D applications do not demand the card's maximum capabilities.
- Prefer maximum performance maintains the card at it's maximum performance state when 3D applications are running regardless of GPU usage, which can increase power consumption.
I still keep mine on "Adaptive " ;)

Another reason for lagging is the HD. Best performance will be an Western Digital VelociRaptor 150GB, 10000RPM, SATA, 3 Gb/s, 16MB.
You will notice your HD LED are working like hell when you are entering a city.
So an HD with 10000 RPM will load the pbo's more faster than a 7200 RPM HD.

Well.... the moment of truth. I bought my new GeForce GTX 285 2GB PhysX CUDA today and got no problem at all. The game run smooth and more stable FPS..
I'm gonna do some more test :)
-
Well i hope for a new patch soon to fix all the GTX2xx series problems. Not sure why there is so much bug in arma2 for users with GTX 2xx GPU, probably because BIS dev never used a single GTX 2xx wile they was making the game, and what about the beta testers?
I'm gonna buy a new Geforce GTX 285, 2GB RAM tomorrow and i'm sure i gonna got the same problems like the others have here with GTX 2xx series... so BIS.. release the f... patch so users with GTX 2xx can play the game without any graphical errors.

Hi Sakura!
Great mod :)
Thanks! :)

I have exactly the same problem I founs the only to fix it was to rename my pc and that is the server name.I simple found my fix to add my ArmA2 server as Virtual Server in my Router. No problem at all now. Everything is OK :)
I think that will solve lot of the problems for others too see they own server in public :)

Great work freddern:cheers:

Where's those 190.15 drivers? nVidia's site only shows 186.18 and 190.38.I'm currently using the 185.50. With the 186.18 the LoD and texture loading was more severe than now. But I've made a clean install of the game and the drivers, so I don't know if that is behind the beter performance, or if it's really the driver's version.
I'm thinking about moving to 190.38. If Arma 2 gets even more annoying, I'll stop playing it. I've only played it a couple times this week anyway... Too many CTDs.
Here: Google is my friend ;)

Well, what should i say.... Overall performance, 5 - 10 FPS more, But ArmA Mark II didn't change much.
But this drivers are OK.

Excellent work:)
Thanks a lot Blakord ;)

Other thing doesn't work ether.
I was trying to just change a cpp file inside a default addon.. i just added some more numbers and saved the pbo file and put it into the addon folder... my server let me inn without any problem.. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
verifySignatures=1; only worked on signed addons. If i put a new addon on my arma2/addons, then the server stop me... But it's not stopping me for editing a signed addons cpp file.
i have also added this to my server.cfg
onHackedData = "ban (_this select 0)"; // auto ban hacked addons
onDifferentData = "kick (_this select 0)"; // auto ban modified files
onUnsignedData = "kick (_this select 0)"; // unsigned data detected
Do we really have an unprotected game here???

@niQ®
Thanks again :)
Other that can confirm the new Beta drivers v.190.38 give some more fps boost :)

Thanks crawler75
I found my problem. It was my router, had to set my arma2 server as Virtual Server in my router settings.. No problem now :)
