I was always baffled by this. I was in the army and although it's not the easiest thing to reload while running I could manage it just fine while walking fast. That said, arma reloading was many times the reason I got killed just because I pressed the button by mistake. What was the idea behind that? Was it the reload animation? Couldn't they animate just the upper part of the body and let the legs do the walking?

the mission after manhatton
Master gamawa replied to paramore's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
yeah that worked for me but I have a feeling that this works only if you helped the priest by not reporting his weapons cache. I am not sure. -
.7z Files ?????
Master gamawa replied to frattonstation's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
use 7z extractor. Seriously, I don't mean to moderate but it would help if you googled first. it's very simple. You write 7z in the google search bar and the FIRST result is http://www.7-zip.org/ it takes much less time than to create a new topic anyway.. you know.. even in case you are in a hurry. -
Please disable the auto save when quitting a mission

Really? I guess I was playing in higher diff then and didn't remember. Which is something I will not do in Arma2 since I have enough trouble with the superhuman AI kicking my ass all over the place. -
I don't know where you live but depending on the suns position, the roads here can practically blind you. And most white/bright buildings. You are right about the rest though.

Is this game right for me? Honest question.

Ha! HAHAHA! I'll link you the map/island section in armaholic site for the Armed Assault game just to show you: http://www.armaholic.com/list.php?c=addons_islands You can find the rest on your own. There are so many addons, maps, scripts and game conversions that it's impossible for things to become stale. Of course Arma2 just came out so don't expect to find a great variety. Give it some time... :) -
Please disable the auto save when quitting a mission
Master gamawa replied to trickster1982's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I loved OpF where you had only ONE user save per mission. I don't think that would work with Arma 2 due to the buggy nature of the campaign, but that forced to think on my feet and pay for my mistakes. It was good. -
What's your favorite SNIPER/MARKSMAN rifle, and why?
Master gamawa replied to Sergeant Poop's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I am a M107 whore. It's not the subtlest of sniper rifles but sending .50 cal bullets inside someones skull from the other side of the universe always makes me feel warm inside! -
ArmA II compared to other games ...
Master gamawa replied to Bernard_t's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I didn't mean to be harsh on the little guy. It's just weird. If he picked Crysis 2 for a comparison he would probably have a semi-valid agrument to start with (with all the plants and streaming graphics of huge areas). Still nothing compares with Arma when you get into it and realize what you can do with it. I agree the single player experience in Arma was dissapointing and than in that perspective, Call of Juarez can be better. But unless they somehow manage to create photorealistic enormous maps of the wild west, provide access to use everything in that era, an editor that allows you to create your own missions, mod new items and play Cowboys vs Indians with huge armies on the internet, the comparison doesn't make sense. I am not even going to analyze the fact that we are talking about a whole different game type. -
ArmA II compared to other games ...
Master gamawa replied to Bernard_t's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
yeah... I don't know much about this game but does it feature huge 500 km maps, the majority of modern arsenal, tanks, cars, real time day/night cycles, moon phases, boats, squad control a huge modding community, huge 1000vs1000 AI battles, artillery, mission editor and the freedom to deal with each mission in almost any way you want? No? OF COURSE NOT! I mean, what's next? Are you gonna compare Arma to Bubble Bobble? -
Fire up the editor and chill out in front of your screen for a day or two. You'll probably need a sandwich and a bottle of water. Even the moon and the stars move. Press 'O' for watch!

Could this be possibly the best game in history?
Master gamawa replied to TheMonster's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Well it's the best of it's type I guess... There are other games I think they are the best for their own reasons. I mean, single player Call of Duty is the best cinematic, intense, action packed, linear game ever. MP is awesome too. Half Life was brilliant, although I don't like alien weapons. The Thief games were the best in stealth and atmosphere. But when I think which game offered me the most fun for the longest time, it's the OpF/Arma series. If you are creative and involved in the mod community, you can play any type of game through Arma. Even an adventure, a survival horror game with zombies, racing with other players or the AI, stealing cars and evading the police, robbing banks, murdering people for fun, stunt driving, flight (semi-)simulator, exploration, gang fights, alien hunting, soccer, hunting (rabbits) and I won't even mention the conversions of this game to other eras/genres and weaponry! I don't remember doing half of that in COD or Half Life! Or any other game... ever. It's all games into one. Since Armed Assault came out, I haven't played anything apart from Mount and Blade and a bit of Call of Duty occasionally. In fact any new impressive game that came out, gave me inspiration for creating new custom missions to play with my friends. Every night a different game for fuck's sake! No other engine has the versatility to do that. It's more of a tool than a game. Just to drive the point home, I don't think there is another game where in one mission, you get kill zombies piloting a WW2 plane in a storm, land and hunt starship troopers spacebugs in the desert and then steal a tank from a military base, level two villages for revenge and finally nuke the place out of existence as you escape in a chopper while listening to Slayer. Allright? Believe me I have checked! -

Dude, wait till you discover what the game editor is all about! :) -
That was exactly my point saralouise! Wasn't "Hey, you know what's funny?" understandable enough? What's with all the seriousness all of a sudden?

Arma 2 needs a lot of tweaking before you enjoy it.. I mean headbob is configurable. And the blur can be reduced/removed in the options. I agree about women though. I wanted my crazy female army but I've found out that female models (with skirts etc) cannot be used because they have different animations or something. Hey, you know what's funny? I was looking for them slutty dressed women in the editor. The ones with the high heels and fishnet stockings. The ones that look like... whores? Yeah, I like those! But I couldn't find them. I mean they can't be workwomen, who the hell works on high heels? Or farmwifes. Maybe they are the ones called madam? No... Damsels? No! What the hell? Then I clicked on "woman" expecting a default female without any striking characteristics . Well HOW ABOUT THAT? Is this how default women look like?

Automatic? What happens if you just want to stand behind the fence without stepping over it?

who go to the USA position in ÐлектрозаводÑк?
Master gamawa replied to Russtik's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
You don't go there. There is a kill trigger on the south. The game wants to force you to join a side in this war. I followed those napa guys to the car and they took me south... Well, you'll see what happens when you make the right choice. The right choice is NOT to go to Electrozvdrkssdffs -
Run ArmA 2 Without a disc like in ArmA 1?
Master gamawa replied to =Spetsnaz='s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
What? Seriously? :) No, I don't need a photo dude! In fact this case belongs to the feds now. You got those fbi spooks on yo' ass brother! I'd like a no disk patch too anyway. I always forget that I have a dvd inside and I often put another dvd on top (as the case is under my desk and I can't see), close it and hear terrible sounds OH SHIT ARMA IS STILL INSIDE STOP IT OPEN IT'S ALL RUINED OH NO SHIT it's fine... -
Mommy Bohemia and daddy Codemasters got a divorce. We are the children fighting for their attention. I, too, wish mom and dad were back together... :(

Your case is full of holes Russianguy! You're going DOWN boy! DOWNTOWN! See what the sheriff thinks about this. -
I usually place them without noticing exactly where they are. Some are set to patrol, some dismissed... They scatter around and .. you know the AI is not known to just sit there and take it. I have an advantage as far as it concerns the first shot. Then all hell breaks loose.

Which is something you would know if you played the training missions! Seriously guys. Play the training missions. Sometimes the are very helpful!
