Edit: The mission was made with version 1.01 FULL (not beta)
  2. well all I can say that it was the same back in the OFP days and all I did was changing the FPS for it to work properly. @EvilNate: ArmA doesnt have a FPS-option (in fact OFP did but thats another story :D ). Personally I changed the refresh-rate in the Nvidia driver setting but I dunno if you have a card from Nvidia. One trick that helped me alot at times were I didn´t know how to solve this was to first open the taskmanager with Ctrl+Alt+Delete and then trying to switch with Alt+Tab. Worked almost every second time :rolleyes:

    thanks Operation Currywurst for the explanation to walker. As I wrote this was a footage of AI vs AI. He killed 2 out of 4 soldiers without having a direct line of view to them and that is due to them seeing through the grass - there can´t possible be any logical explanation: It wasnt surpressive fire (the shots were actually fired precisely and killed 2 out of 4 soldiers) Neither was there any indication of movement the AI could have seen (sry for the bad quality but I can try to upload the mission and you can see yourself) it will always end the same. And walker I know that it is easy to call everybody a BF2, CS whatever noob... but I tell you OFP and ArmA were always my favorite games and I spent uncountably many hours playing them. I know how the AI has to be treated and I know how the engine behaves. It is just that it bothers me that the same mistake was done twice as the very same issue occured in ArmA I and was fixed later on but wasnt implemented in ArmA II from the beginning...

    Of course I know that the grass around me flattens when I lay down (although this wasn´t the fact in the early versions of ArmA I...) but it doesnt change anything. The AI can see and shoot through bushes... combined with a forrest you have no chance against AI as you cant see anything and they can see you from several hundres meters away and kill you instantly.   5. normally it is due to the FPS your computer is set to. I had the same issue at 75hz but it disappeared after switching to 60

I made a vid to proof the "no grass view" 4 enemy soldiers are approaching one AI in the grass and as you can see he shoots just without even seeing them... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7csaLjZt8pU Sry for the bad quality but I guess it still becomes clear that this has to be fixed! Btw: I made the vid in the editor´s intromode so that you can see the first person view of an AI

    I totally agree with Mauser. I played all the games from OFP up to ArmA II excessivley and it is the same now as it was at the very beginning of ArmA I: The AI shoots too precisley even over great distances + you can´t see shit through the grass but they can. It seems as if there was no grass layer at all blocking their view. Indeed the AI has made huge improvements in behaviour e.g.: I attacked an enemy basecamp and its soldiers started immediately surrounding my squad in the forrest. That really impressed me but even if i lay down in the thickest bushes and couldn´t see anything further ahead than a few meters, they shot me from over 200m away with a maximum of 2 shots. That happened so often that I even wanted to quit playing... Btw: I played on veteran and i don´t want to know how good the AI shoots on professional...

  9. I´ve been doing some research on the MEU since details of the Razor team have been released. The carrier where the player starts from (Rus. prev: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRhhG_IS5k0&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.litos-hq.com%2Fblog1.php%2F2009%2F05%2F14%2Ftranslation-of-a-russian-arma2-preview&feature=player_embedded) is a type USS-Wasp. It is an amphibious assault ship and used as quick response force. It is the homebase of the MEU and so it is for the Razorteam (27th MEU). Aircrafts which are normally stationed on it are: AH-1W, AV-8. UH-1N, CH-53, CH-46 (and MV-22). The ship also carries; M-1s, 5t-Trucks, HMMWVs, LAVs, Howitzers and more. Some sound familiar? Yeah, BIS is doing a great job making the plot as realistic as possible by implementing the equipment and vehicles the real army would have. I didn´t realize the detail they put into the game until I read through the characterisitcs of the Razor team. I´m really looking forward to playing the campaign and I think it will be as great as the good old Cold-War-Crisis. The two reasons why I started this topic are: 1. shorten the time of waiting until release *g* 2. wanted to show you this documentary: (very interesting documentary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-d5hjBU0JgQ&feature=PlayList&p=385199D78117EE1A&index=0 and ask if you have more info on the MEU. (Btw: is there some confirmed statement that the ship is able to transport vehicles inside?)
  10. My very first Wargame was 1997´s "Muzzle Velocity" for DOS.   11. did you notice that they changed the movinanims? Looks way more fluent than ArmA I. Hope this makes PvP more interesting and enjoyable again...
  12. dunno if this bug has ever been reported or already fixed now in 1.08 but when my soldier is completly out of breath and enters a vehicle, he just wont stop breathing like crazy until i die... The same occurs when you completly overload your soldier. Even if you put every single equipment down on the floor he won´t stop. This really gets annoying after some time...

    How's ARMA2 AI shaping up?

    mmmh hey guys can you remember the one preview-vid where a group of soldiers infiltrated a barn and moved tactically and gave cover to each other? Edit: found the vid -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1q5MZ0j-7I&feature=PlayList&p=654F7610F17E23A3&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=17 I strongly suspect that there IS some kind of improvment in the area of searching cover (or placing special nodes). I guess with the help of our talented scripters and modders, we could build ArmA´s AI on our own... what do you think? :o

  17. lol I just tested the FFN mod and I have to say: WOW!!! Who needs BIS-AI when we got that! This is the first time i really enjoy fighting the AI in ArmA. Thanks alot you guys :)

    BattlEye problems

    well it seems to appear randomly. I played on a server for about 10 minutes and got the "not responding client" message. Then I joined the server again and connected completly and now just half a minute later I got again the same message. This happened twice. Btw. great that you take so much care about our problems

    hey as postet some times already, I encounter the same problem with the "not responding client". LoL i even got kicked from a non-battleeye server. Any explanations? Fixes?

  23. Hey guys, I have also a problem with a Nvidia driver, but it doesnt have anything to do with 8800s. My problem is that i cant connect to online servers anymore - In the same second I press connect I get a CTD. I guess it has something to do with the mainboarddriver that i´ve updated yesterday (6.86_nforce_win2kxp_international_whql) there was also a ethernet-driver update included that I installed and I think it´s its fault (I´ve only got problems with connecting - not playing) Does anyone have the same problem or even a solution? Thank you
