  1. Man that picture really brings quite some atmosphere with it. I guess that feature would also help maintaining situational awareness. Oh boy hopefully our expectations won´t be disappointed... :pray:
  2. omg look at those screenshots on their site! They´re beautiful and I get an urgent feeling that this game would make an EXCELLENT MP title!
  3. Same here. I couldn´t even imagine what this game would look like or even what it was about, but that Sci-Fi setting totally appeals me. I played EVE Online for about a year and they were about to create a game called "Dust 514" for consoles exclusively which lets you fight with sci fi weaponry on planet surfaces. I was totally jealous of consoleros that time but I guess we PC players have something similar now :bounce3: Btw I believe that would have been another great title that would have gone by unnoticed cause of missing advertisment... glad it turned out otherwise thanks to our determination to see ArmA III :p

    ARMA 3, E3 Coverage (reveals)

    Just like ACE did with googles, handsigns, satchels etc.? -> Thats actually what I thought naturally of how they´d implement customization *g*

    Tanks with TROPHY?!

    Wait a second... just when I thought about implementation I realized that this wouldn´t have been too hard to script? You´d need a script which keeps track of objects around a certain radious of your vehicle and check if any of them is an rpg type warhead (or any other AT warhead in the game), then delete it and create a dummy explosion at that place. Knowing how unreliable scripts work when used with high cycle time, it would even leave space for fails so that the tank/vehicle wouldn´t be invincible...

    Ragdolls = In .... Realistic wounds ???

    Sure the whole energy wouldn´t be transfered into the body if it went through, but I guess the result would be the same for every person being hit by a bullet -> falling onto the ground. I guess such a feature wouldn´t be as sophisticated anyway to be able to make differences between vest hit, flesh wound or grazing shot (I´ve actually never seen the word grazing but hey thanks google translator *g*).

    Ragdolls = In .... Realistic wounds ???

    Yep we´ve seen a bunch of soldiers get thrown away by a grenade and another soldier being shot from a roof. You know that makes me wonder if bullets can knock down a guy onto the floor without killing him. I guess most of you know that famous Iraq video where a US soldiers is hit by a sniper rifle bullet. He falls to the ground as the bullet hits his bulletproof vest but he gets up again and takes cover immediately. Don´t you guys think too, that it would be awesome to see ragdoll kick in when you get hit by a bullet? Imagine this happening while in full movement. That could really enhance the feeling of shooting someone (as macabre as it may sound).
  8. Say what? I think you´re refering to the "drown yourself" part? Thats atleast what I´ve heardt... :rolleyes:

    Tanks with TROPHY?!

    I´m very interested in that technology. I thought this has already been implemented in the newer tanks but I might be wrong... That vid about the TROPHY system stated that they were the first and only cooperation that has developed such a system yet, but I´m pretty sure I have seen this a cuple of times elsewhere :confused:
  10. LOL that pretty much hits the nail... *g* But we all know that implementing features is a very hard thing to do in such a vast sandbox game, especially considering the limited ressources a common pc has and it´s need to distribute them to many different sections equally in ArmA. If you think of a normal FPS, where every mission is scripted and every map is so small, that things like audio positioning, view distance, ballistics, ai pathfinding all play minor roles and you can actually divert all the ressources into graphics, then it is no wonder why we (the ArmA community) are so grateful for every little step forward BI does, although other games incorporate those features since years. :)
  11. Ah I see. So it really is another form of a picture-in-picture mode like some TVs nowadays have. How ressource heavy is this technology? Do you think we could have a, lets say Stryker interior, with several different monitors showing different things, like UAV cam, outside cam, gun cam etc. at the same time?
  12. Like Picture-in-Picture mode? Wouldn´t that allow magnified scopes for use in the normal perspective like http://site.airgundepot.com/images/Randy/100yrd ? EDIT: Oh DMarkwick already anwsered that! Wow thats cool! :D
  13. You can change your "Location" description now... we´ve done that for you now :D A thing that makes me smile a little though is, that we got so many clear anwsers from Lord B. that there is not much left to discuss *g* In the moment I couldn´t think of a single thing of what else to ask if we had another chance to ask questions. Everything was talked about (except the story and the flying whale endboss). Guess it´s all about waiting now :o

    E3 - Arma 3?

    But the overall impression I got is that ArmA III is still very early in development. Although the things we saw are extermly awesome and it is not an understatement that ArmA III is next-gen!
