    Is that really a bug, or intentional? It's been in the game for a long time... I had always assumed that you get to a point where you've been in the water so long that you are far too tired to carry your equipment AND tread water, so you drop your equipment to survive.

    On Evolution an enemy soldier did see me and shoot me before I could run him over... so they do see us.

    I was really *HOPING* the bike multiplayer bug would be fixed in this version, since it wasn't fixed in 1.09 beta. It is *NOT* fixed. On small servers it seems okay, but get up to 16-32 players and drive around on the bike, and BAM you are dead if you are driving too fast on it. Exactly the same as before.

    This is still highly debatable. In the other thread about Mk19 recoil, a soldier who was in Iraq said that when his gunner fired ONCE at something to his left while driving on the road, his vehicle jumped a lane to the right.

    March 6th Update on Patch Status

    As some of us know, there was an update about work on the patch beyond the 1.08 version back in August 29th. We then received the 1.09 Beta patch just before Christmas. There is now an update released today. Looks like we will have another beta patch again, to check and see if there are any showstoppers, and if none, then the final patch will come out soon.     There is a problem from old patches that has not been fixed yet. It has to do with doubletapping run while switching weapons. Switch to your other weapon (pistol or rifle) using the ; key, and doubletap W to run forward. If you doubletap at the right time right at the end where your weapon is being drawn into position, this is what happens: You switch weapon again, you run forward one step, then you switch back to the other weapon. That has been an annoying bug for quite a while.

    They didn't even have to do that for Vista, since ArmA wasn't released for Vista. Excellent support to cover ArmA for many years into the future! The memory addressing fix is INCREDIBLE. I had no idea how much work had to go into fixing this.   9. I think he moved you here because he thought you were asking how to script this into the game? If you were actually asking HOW you pick up vehicles with the UH-60 in Evolution as a player... Only a few Evolution maps do this. The Evolution Blue V2 + map has this scripting built in (look for the +). If there is Evolution Red V2 + then that should have it too. The other Evolution map is the Hohei Evolution maps. In the V2 + map, it is VERY easy to hitch, you HAVE to be an engineer, and you fly over vehicles and use "Hitch Vehicle" which is always in the list. If you are not in range it will tell you why it could not pick it up. In Hohei, the option to pick up vehicles does NOT show up until you are within 10m above the vehicle, so it can be very tricky to get close enough without bumping into it... but once you are in range, the option will suddenly show up in your list, and you select it and then hitch it.

    Thanks... Finally got to see it in action... Now that there are multiple bullets, I can aim at the legs if I am too close so if I miss, I can fire again until the stun takes effect. A very BIG improvement IMHO.

    The locking of this thread proves why BIS focuses on making a patch as flawless as possible, rather than releasing interim patches. It makes it a lot easier on the mods here. I prefer it that way, too. Don't get me wrong... I do check back here way too often, hoping to get some news, and feeling the same pain when it takes this long. [raises glass] Here's to the beta coming out very soon, to it being polished to a perfect sheen, and therefore leading to the final patch quickly.

    Stun guns are a joke on the cops. If they are not changed, Cops will continue to throw them away like they are doing. Better to use a M9 SD and shoot them in the leg. If they do not surrender, SHOOT the civ dead for not dropping or holstering the weapon to allow arrest.

    In Sahrani Life there is something that fixes a building when it is blown down (it reforms itself). However, it's not perfect, because the people that were on the server when it was blown see it as reformed, but the people who join the server AFTER it was blown see a blown down area. So, the people who join AFTER the explosion are able to go through the blown down areas without a problem, while the people present BEFORE the explosion sees someone walking thru walls. The BEFORE people can be walking upstairs in the building, and the AFTER people see people walking around in midair [and find them easy targets to shoot]

    There has finally been an update on the patch status, here at http://www.bistudio.com/develop....en.html It looks like the reason for the long delay has been in trying to perfect the VoN [voice over network] and anticheats. There will be another beta patch to check for anything that regresses the game/showstoppers. If there are none, then the final patch should be coming out very quickly. ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING MENTIONED-- AI BRIDGE PATHFINDING much improved! Very important in RTS as far too often the trucks we sent out would end up in the river instead. If Karrillion ever does come back to mod RTS for the new patch, I hope we can prevent bridges from being destroyed... it is interesting tactically but it can put quite a damper on the rest of the map until it is restarted, especially when the bridge destruction is NOT done by the enemy but by a saboteur/griefer on your own team.

    Boomboomer... Maybe it's all thanks to those people who take it as the greatest personal insult if there is ONE thing wrong with an official patch. "HOW CAN YOU RELEASE SUCH A THING?!?! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING BIS?!?!" The moderators then have their hands full trying to close constant threads on this subject. I'm hoping very much that this beta proves itself to be without any regressive problems so we can quickly move onto the final patch very soon. It looks like that the reason why the patch has taken this long is because perfecting the VoN and anticheats took much longer than they expected.
  17. I've backed all kinds of vehicles (humvee, all the 5t trucks, the repair/fuel/ammo truck) to the m119 AT gun to the hitch, but I wasn't able to get an option to hitch on and tow it somewhere. Is there a way to do so, or is this not part of ArmA? Had tried this in the Hohei Evolution Blue map... there were a bunch of M119's clustered together at the base that I thought would be useful... maybe it's not designed in but I thought I'd ask here anyways.

    There's one more bug I forgot to mention here... and the temporary 'fix'... Once you join the server, and choose a loadout at the ammo box, that is your loadout for the rest of the game. So if you go to the ammo box and load up a javelin with 2 rockets and a pistol, thats what you will always spawn with, even if you spawn at base and choose a different loadout. So when I was choosing stuff and cleared out my loadout screen first and it immediately threw me out of the screen when I doubleclicked on an item to remove the last item [so that I had NOTHING loaded on myself], I was STUCK with that every time [very annoying]. The only way I found to fix that was to exit to the lobby and rejoin, go to the ammo box, and CAREFULLY choose the loadout I want to be respawning with. As soon as I exit this box and stand up, that is what my loadout will be locked into.

    That is great to hear! Thanks for chiming in. Thanks to who listed the info about the M119 gun. I'd love for something in ArmA to allow for being able to do ranged fire and knowing where you are hitting. In the Coop Domination! map there are artillery people who can call in strikes... guns are AI controlled though, you select a spot on map and there comes in a rain of artillery fire.

    Yeah, I remember in WW2 online they had a severe problem with that... any bit of lag and it would unhitch.... you could go 10 mph but it was lag that would throw it off in odd directions... sometimes you found yourself rocketing at 200mph headlong right into the middle of the enemy to be blown to bits! No idea if they ever fixed that problem. I got tired of WW2OL... I love a good balanced fight and it turned out that the longest-playing members stacked one side against the other, so it was extremely boring on the winning side and pointless on the losing side [especially since most of the winning side's gains came during non-peak hours, making effort during the peak hours pretty much pointless]. Their forums were also strangely full of neocons and white power racists...

    Thanks to everyone for the replies! I am happy to report that in the maps where Blackhawks are able to hitch vehicles from above... THAT YOU CAN hitch M119 AT guns! Might be tricky trying to land that gun in visible range of Shilkas/BMPs/T72's/AA soldiers though, since you can't "roll" it to a better position once on the ground. Now I've got to figure if theres a way to rearm that gun....

    Well, I don't know what Kiljoy is up to.... whether he has abandoned ArmA for good, since there have not been any new posts from him in months I guess... But Hohei has put in what Evolution needed! Look for the Hohei Evolution Blue map! Get that running on your servers! An AMBULANCE that we can respawn at! We can bring it to the frontlines and spawn from there!!! The single most important thing to prevent people leaving the server when we are dealing with faraway cities! Blackhawks that can HITCH vehicles and bring them to the frontlines! Be sure to check it out if you've been looking for an updated Evolution bringing in a lot of the things you've all been asking for! Had TREMENDOUS fun on this map!!!

    Hopefully 1.09 will resurrect this game. More anticheat measures, pirates banned immediately for using pirated keys [i like having the more players due to pirates playing too, but since cheaters/griefers ABUSE this by creating a new key after being banned, then they all must go unfortunately].

    Is Kiljoy still around or has he abandoned ArmA for good? I saw a Evolution Blue + V2 map... It had *Hitch Vehicle* for Engineers only, when using the Blackhawk. This is MISSION CRITICAL! Ever notice all the old vehicles left strewn across the map in old cities? Engineers can bring them to the frontlines now! I assume this was an edit by someone else... There need to be an official version in all Evolution maps because too many servers are not using Evolution Blue+ V2. [Not to be confused with Evolution Blue V2 which does not have hitch vehicle, it is Evolution Blue+ V2]
