Another thing we need for the aircraft is the ability to adjust the properties of each axis.
My x52 sucks in this game because the only thing we can alter is the deadzone. Need to be able to change the curve and sensitivity.
The mouse is far more accurate and easier to handle than my stick. Thats just wrong.
You know the flight model sucks when your better off using a mouse rather than a HOTAS. LOL

After playing lock-on for 2+ years, I just can't fly these planes with a serious look on my face. I didn't expect anything from the flight model coming into this. My fellow Lock-on players told me not too. lol So it really doesnt bother me. They are fun to fly only because you can help the team. Plus, who does'nt like blowing stuff up.
That said, yes it's pretty horrid to fly the a-10. It's weird and an entirely false representation. But its not meant to be exact.
I dream of the day when flight sims and combat sims are one.

Does anyone else think that the strelas/stingers are too powerful in ArmA?1. They are dead accurate. It's almost impossible to miss once you have a lock. In RL, MANPADs have a pretty low hit rate.
2. No lock tone. You have no idea if somebody is targeting you or not. You're flying one second and PHEW! explosion the next.
3. No countermeasures. Your chopper/plane has no flares or chaffs. There is no way to evade a fired missile.
4. Long range. You get locked from very far away so you can't see the little person holding the MANPAD. You might see a smoke trailer but it's too late by then heh
I think they should at least decrease the accuracy of the MANPADs a little or add a locktone so you can haul ass outta there. At least give pilots a chance!
1. I can't say about this one, i've never seen 180 degree turns and such like others are talking about. Although i have had alot of run ins with the strela's and they seem to be modeled well.
2. The only thing that would give a lock tone is the strella, discounting other aircraft of cource. And this is assuming the chopper has rwr. Some of them dont.
3. I agree, we should have these. Although this doesnt mean you can't out maneuver it.
4. The ranges in this game are small. I think what your thinking is far away isnt even close to max range for this AAA we have modeled.
Quote[/b] ]Stingers and Strelas are indeed ridiculous in ArmA.Even if you force them to miss by changing the flight vector, they will just make a split second 180° turn and smash into the target anyway with almost 100% certainty. They are completely overpowered and unrealistic.
The maneuvering values of those missiles definitely need to be changed. Chaff and flares would also be nice touch
Like i said before i've never witnessed the missles performing strange behavior like this. But mabey i need more playtime under my belt.
With regards to the strela, you can out maneuver it. Mabey you need more practice?

I'm not a model maker but I have an idea of how the engine works.  I believe that when you get in a vehicle you become the vehicle.  Also those games that do do this are on a scale 1/100 the size of this game.  It would increase CPU use and net traffic immensely.  You may not want to believe that and that's your prerogative but the request is unreasonable.  Most of us would not want to swap the size and scale of this game for a tinier game that allows moving in cargo. ÂAnyone who believes that it's greed and not a technical reason for this feature not being available then what is the reason Joint Ops does not have 100km playing area  200 AI in game?

Benreeper is right,
The reason is to save resources. More than likey it can be done, but at what expense?
I'm perfectly happy just sitting there if it keeps the lag down.

I have a couple questions about soundpacks.
One: is it easy to uninstall if you don't like it?
Two: does it change the way you hear them? What i mean is with regular sounds you cant tell which way a tank or gunfire ect is coming from.

I'd gladly play a large scale CTF, and i do play no respawn co-ops sometimes. But if theres no communication on the co-ops i bail right away.
As for the lone wolf score padder crap, i would tend to agree. So, unless we are talking squad play i deffinatly dont want to play with them on a serious map. An evo map is a perfect place for them to be.
Want serious co-ops? PLAY WITH YOUR SQUAD, because they SUCK on pubs where no one works together. The server list needs to have only a few of these and more PvP.
Large scale pvp I'm all for, and i hope he decides to add SLA to evolution. ( I said this already once, and i'll prolly say it again too, because i love this idea.
)P.S. Deathmatch

Maybe kiljoy should add a few SLA slots on the next release of Evolution, I think that would make it a hell of a lot more interesting. I agree about too much evolution though, I'm starting to get sick of it.Some of my favorite other CoOp maps are: OOPS_City_Take_Ortego_(co10) & OOPS_City_Take_Paraiso_(co14)
On a side note, Celery, we at the 31st MEU have gotten A LOT of laughs (and fun) from your DM map pack, thank you and keep up the good work.
Yes to the above! Â ^^^ Â SLA slots on Evo would be really really good. Â
We should really put some idea's together for that, and if he's up to it, we could have a really goood map.
Quote[/b] ]The point system in Evo is one thing I really hate. Guess it prevents morons destroying everything at the start in public games, but for more organised games it's just a pain. It's one thing that's made me sick of Evo.It might be a pain, but its needed. Â You guys are not looking at it correctly. Â Your not being rewarded for kills. Â Your getting rewarded for putting in your time. Â No nublets flying around with the cobra and blackhawks are good!
Also, if your playing an organized game, its REALLY easy to get your rank up there with your buddies. Â It's harder without teamwork, and im glad it promotes this.
Maps like this are needed for public servers. Â You can't have a good time for a little while to jump into a custom coop map and be a seagul for a freaking half hour. Â You want real large variety of coop maps? Â Squad play will do that for you.
Public servers need largescale coop or PvP CTI style maps running to ecourage the growth of this community.

Quote[/b] ]I see the small maps as a complete waste of ArmA potential. I play Arma for the huge environments and the mixture of vehicle and infantry combat. The maps being hosted are a reflection of the OFP/ArmA player base. The majority like co-op and CTI. Where the whole map is being used with multiple objectives. Evolution provides a unique RPG style of play and people are playing it alot due to the constant updates and honeymoon period.I agree. I play alot of evolution because its the whole map. Using all of the vehicles. Lots of teamwork usually. Try joining the servers TS, you'll find even more teamwork. RPG aspect is pretty neat aswell.
It gives you that huge battlefield, on going war feeling. To be honest thats why i like ArmA. When i first bought it i was leary about all the coops. I'm used to PvP gaming. Now i love it.
The other great thing about it is the fact that you dont have a bunch of idots using the choopers, tanks ect. Those griefers are to lazy to get the points so they just TK you at spawn then leave

Someone makes a mod on evolutions scale with teams instead of AI, noobs like me will play it. CTF on a large scale i would love to see. I'm still new so i dont think im ready to delve into making maps yet.
Just my 2 cents.

I never knew about that option, that should make things easier. Also disabled multi OS selection, thanks.

Well im getting the blue screen then a reboot directly after, doesnt even stop on the bluescreen. I'll be doing whatever, then bang it just reboots.
It ONLY does this in multiplayer. I've played single player for hours and hours. I tried searching to no avail.
I bought the download version from direct2drive, then patched to 1.08
These are a nightmare to troubleshoot, so if you guys could help me along that would be great. I was kinda hoping its a known issue of some sort i couldnt find. I know wishfull thinking.
Anymore info you need let me know.I'm off to do the regular, update every driver, defrag, blah blah regular maintence.

I passed recommended and required. It still runs like butt with EVERYTHING as low as it will go, except blood.
I expected to and was willing to buy a new rig for this though

That website is obviously pretty far off.

Ah I understand, thanks.

So what are the numbers like in the real game? Alot more people playing CTI in the real version?
I'm curious because its hard to find a game with alot of people playing CTI in the demo.
-
I've been playing the demo for awhile now. I kinda confused as which one to purchace.
I'm american and i only speak english. I heard to get 505 version, but on the sticky it does not say USA in the country list. So would i be just as well off buying something else now?
Thanks for the help.
P.S. What are the numbers like in the full version? The amount of people playing the demo is kind of discouraging. I like CTI. and if im lucky i might be able to find 10 people playing it.
I think the game is great and has some crazy awesome potential, but im not going to buy it if theres no one playing it. lol

Can someone enlighten me? i have the demo, and i don't see any fatigue at all. Correct me if im wrong, i can run, walk, and sit. How do you sprint? i cant find the key in the options, and i tried double tapping. I only see the walk and run keys
Also about the fatigue. Does your player ever tire? what is the purpose of sitting? Are you forced to walk after a certain period? Sometimes i cant run, it seems to be a bug, but i cant tell.
a-10 feels weird

Haha, you would think so from this game. But it actually is very nice to fly. I'm basing this completely from lock on. It's really nimble and a blast to fly.
What is the thing in our game? I dunno, but its not an A-10 lol
