    Under which tab should I export under geocontrol? Is it important? Also, I get it into a 16bpp greyscale in photoshop, but when I import it I just get a ribbed terrain for some reason, instead of what I need. EDIT: Wilbur saved the day!

    Hmm, what did you use? Whenever I try to do it with photoshop I get strange results, basicly nothing like it should be.

    AC-130s were used during Operation Restore Hope which was the operation prior to Gothic Serpent(this was when the Blackhawk Down incident took place) and if I recall correctly they were still in Somalia during the incident. I could be wrong though.

    Question: I've just bought a 7600GT AGP, it runs nicely and gives me a preformance boost that i've been looking for. Just one tiny bit of a problem, I run NVmonitor in the background and I see that the GPU core runs at the clock speed on the box(560Mhz) but the memory runs at 700Mhz, which is half as much as is written on the box. Well as soon as I run something intensive I get some wierd freaky results: Core: 1244.0 Memory 4146.0 Is that normal? And is it normal that in idle mode it shows the memory running at 700Mhz? I'm running a dual screen, could that be the problem? Any help would be great.

  15. Hmm, it seems that the 10000 and 11000 LODs are identical, at least to me. THe only thing that changes is the ammount of faces, but switching through the LODs doesn't show any changes in detail. Same for the 10010 and 11010 LODs. Can anybody confirm this? Is it just me?
  16. Yeah, but which does what? So far I've been using the 10k LOD for shadows, but whats 10010, 11000 and 11010? Bleh, lets PM BI and hope for the best.

    I'd need some help in deciding something. I've got: Barton 2600+(no OC) XFX Geforce 6600GT(again, no OC), AGP 1 gig of various RAM Epox 8rda3+(I think it's a +, too lazy to check) I can run ArmA pretty smoothly(25+) with everything on low or very low(I've only got object detail on normal), sometimes with more than 80 units on the most detailed part of the island I get an FPS lower than 15. I was wondering if anybody has a similar rig to this, but with a 7600GT. I'm interested in buying one, I've checked Tom's hardware to check how it'd preform and it seems it can double the preformance in just about anything, but I'd like to double check for ArmA. I'm wondering more if I could up my settings a bit(as in, put the shadows on and perhaps run shader detail on Low instead of Very Low, and perhaps textures on normal) and still retain the preformance I have with the 6600GT or have it even better?

  23. I have to say I have been thinking about this long time already after purchasing and playing ArmA. If I were a game developer, I would put effort into making sure that a player's in-game character stops and doesn't walk forward when the player releases the key to walk forward. And I don't mean to ignore the laws of physics, I mean when a brain says "stop" then the "muscles" should do something about it. I said earlier in this thread: can I not cancel a step? Can I not pull my leg back when I was going to take a step forward, but decided to cancel it? Oh yes I can. In ArmA the game decides to force me take the full step and maybe one full step more before the character stops. The connection with the "brain" and the "muscles" is just too slow in ArmA. The in-game character should feel to me like I am one with it, with the kind of character control and animations I have in ArmA it is far from that. QFT! This is exactly the kind of thing I'm getting from ArmA.
