Not in the same way. Fire on my lead means that when you fire the AI does the same and shoots their assigned targets. If you use engage, then the AI will get up and start running after their assigned targets, if you gave them some. If you use fire, they'll just fire if they're in range. In any case, you require the menu open in order to produce the perfect one barrage kill. It's just one step more when it could've been fire on my lead, and you can start spewing lead instead of navigating the menu and then spew lead.

It has Adblock. Dunno about flashblock. But that's there too probably. There's a growing list of extensions, but no RSS ticker!

This thread needs a bunch of this:

x2 Opera was nice, but clunky and when it lagged down, it lagged down and it took the whole browser with it when it crashed. VERY annoying when you had a whole load of fresh porn open. Chrome is pretty awsome, but I'd like it to have the RSS ticker from Firefox and that it'd work when I try to download things from here: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

Most people play in locked servers for some 5hours in a go. And tons more play in SP. Also, ArmA2 worked fine for me out of the box. No need for me to tweak my PC or the game to make it work or work fine. It worked. And it wasn't a failure. Also, sales figure doesn't a good game make. CoD5 for example...

Except if you're out in the open. There are no dips and mounds in the ground.

Not really, I can get the same screenshots with my rig and it's not really top end. And I have good FPS. There have been screenshots to show the difference between all the different settings and the visual difference was minimal between normal and high. The differences started showing at normal to low, to very low.

And you'll get raped.

ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead discussion thread
MehMan replied to Tonci87's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
As in, all components in one single temp, OFP: DR style? -
Taking the wine comparison a bit further: OFP: DR is the gallon drum of cheapo wine. It's good when you're a cheapo wino looking to get pissed on a friday night, but you'll regret it tommorow. Because you'll get raped.

I like BF2 and I don't like OFP: DR. At least not so far. It all feels chunky. The character movement is obsesivly slow, the weapon changes are slow, etc. I understand to a point, but the BIS system is much better. No bullet drop. The smoke FX is flat. The gfx themselves are very flat after some 300m. The grass disappears faster than in ArmA2. You can move other soldiers by running into them. Try it, you can move them like they're on ice. The enemy AI is woefully inaccurate. Friendly AI is no better. The AI is so so. They go into cover. The commo rose is personal prefrence, I dislike that you need to press keys, BF2 style is better. There are some commands that ArmA2 desperatley needs, such as fire on my lead and supress. The context sensistive thing seems to work, you can order the AI to storm a building and they do it very well. Every enemy and friendly weapon seems to fire only tracers, OFP style. I looked down and tried to see my own shadow to check for shadows, couldn't see it. They are there though. Tried to check out the massive gore that some people have been getting a boner over and it's just some massively overdone blood splatter. All the particle effects are overdone in size for no reason at all. So far, it's a big pile of shit, much like I thought it would be. I'll take a second look tommorow and judge it some more. Good thing I didn't buy it.

Now can somebody with an account on the CM forums post this screenshot in this stupid topic: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=384406 Why do you suddenly have 50 fps but you only have 20 trees on screen. WHOOPIE. "CODE MASTERS", GET IT.

*waits for space to counter your review with the Computer And videogames review* You know, the one where the reviewer is very objective.
-
ArmA2 is still an awsomely great game, but some of the bugs were far from hidden.
-
I would cut them out of the credits for doing such a poor job. Or maybe they did a good job, but BIS dropped the ball. Or something else. In any case, it's ragetastic.
-
I don't see why this is so important?
-
I seriously wonder why don't we all hold our politicians by the balls. They are after all in service to us, not the other way around. Hehe, we have a bit of a problem with seasonal workers and transport companies are being out-bid by Romanians and Bolgarians, because they'll just work cheaper. Another reason why more education is better. And that doesn't mean that you're still safe though, unfortunatley. But the higher ranked job you have, the less chance there is of somebody willing to do the same job for less money, simply because they know how much they worth and that there's a level of education not offered in their country. Like 3d engineering work(Autocad), that's unlikely that somebody from Sierra Leone will be able to do. Reminds me, need to learn Autocad, tons of work for that still around.

ARMA II Beta Builds Released: Latest version/build: 1.04.6xxxx
MehMan replied to mattxr's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
I want a complete changelog too, because there seem to be changes that aren't logged and that's just counter productive sometimes. Really. -
Seeing the actual bullet? I'd love to see you do that in any game. You can assign a model to the bullet, that's not a problem. There's a tank shell mod somewhere, or at least (as you can see, there's not much to see as the shell travels, but once it deflects off of armour, it slows down(also, the deflection was bumped way way up in that video for demonstration purpose, it was made to show that armour deflection was possible)). It's the only probable bullet you could possibly see, but even that's a bit of a tough one. And the richochets aren't scripted, pretty much dynamic and they run on the physics engine. They bounce just the same as in OFP: DR apparently. It's pretty cool too. And they bounce on water too,
-
Why is that? The parties consists of people from all countries in the EU, not just germans. There's no german party there. And beyond that there's a bunch of other parties that can vote against it. I hardly believe the EU would pass a directive that the czech must pay the Vatican anything. The EU deals more on an economical level rather than neighbourly disputes(as we have found out). The internal issues are left to be resolved to the countries in dispute.
-
Bullets have dynamics, you can attach a camera to a bullet and you can follow it's flight path. Just find some cam scripts, really cool too. The AI thing is just a simple command that wasn't used a lot and I don't know why, it's called allowFleeing. It's a setting from 0 to 1 and it's very awsome, but not used extensivly enough. The AI will retreat and attack again sometimes they'll retreat and if you pop a round in their general direction they'll start fleeing again. A really cool command, but it just isn't used enough. Still, haven't seen any morale system in the OFP: DR videos. Remember, it's all very objective. Nah, I think it's just a pimped version of the UAV FLIR. It's very basic, and thus rather useless. @Dismemberment, can't see any. Or any gore. Expect blood splatter, that doesn't even stick to walls. And ArmA2 can do blood like that too, not the splatter, but just the bloodied bodies. So not very new. Next is the missing body chuncks, run ArmA with blood on high(yes, there's a difference) and shoot something in the eye. You can take out half thier face. So it has gore. Besides, gore isn't as important a feature as is a 2x2km box(I think it's hardcoded). or a 275m coop(this is hardcoded) tether.

It was like that before. It's only in the parliament, the council has 1 set per country and an equal vote. Each country has a representative number of seats in the parliament, but they don't all go into one party, you can vote any party and the representative they have selected in your country, to represent your party and their views in the european parliament party. I hope that makes sense now, but smaller countries become a part of something bigger. And I come from a small country, I agree that we can't decide and dictate what germany with a huge diversity should do.

Why a shame? Has anybody ever read the lisbon treaty? http://europa.eu/lisbon_treaty/full_text/index_en.htm Come on, try harder. Read before accusing. Read the damn treaty before going: WE'RE ALL GOING TO BE SLAVES. Srsly.
-
Spending time on 4chan will be more productive. It's all: OFP: DR is THE SHIT. ArmA2 sucks. And then vice versa.
-
You're basing your argument on one reviewer. And the review itself was badly written. Stuff works only when it doesn't. HMMMMMM. wise words mr. reviewer. Seriously.
