Who's the genius that put Skippy's List in the cockpit? That made me laugh.
-
I hope that's not the real uvmap. Well, actually it doesn't matter a lot with this little thing. Unless you find a nit picker like me.

I was kinda hoping that we'll be able to shoot from cargo positions inside vehicles in ArmA. As we see it's not so. It kinda sucks that you see a target when you're landing in the Littlebird and you have a clean stable shot but you can't shoot him and the other man gets a clean shot at you. Kinda sucks. It's a little thing, but does anybody know if it could be done via some scripts or is it completely impossible? If so, is BIS thinking of perhaps implementing this? Even if it's completely limited, just to have the range of the floating crosshair, I think it'd be enough and would give you a bit of an advantage at hot landings. Another thing that bothers me is the almighty hitpoint system. I know that BIS can't change the whole structure for it now, but they could add a couple of parameters to the config for armoured vehicles, at least. I modded C&C Gens: ZH extensivly a year or two back and while it was an RTS it had an armour system similar to ArmAs currently. No directional armour though. But they did have a couple more parameters for armour. Weapons could be classifed into a couple of groups, infantry rifles and such as small arms, helicopter things as gattling guns or such, rockets rockets, and tank shells as shells. You could then set in the armour section of the tank or APC how much armour does it have against these groups, so you could set the small arms setting to 100% and that made it invunerable to small arms fire. Now I believe right now you can destroy an APC with an M16 if you have enough time and ammo. With this implemented we could prevent that and bring this closer to realism. Thoughts, crits?

But just incase, OFP addons won't work in ArmA.
-
VBS isn't ArmA. Ah, wish we could have that.
-
Yeah, but ArmA still isn't the best at handling a lot of objects in one place at a time, at least city objects. Seeing how cities can lag down some games a lot, I don't think a really condensed large city area is still a possiblity. They do however work better than forests.

Questions regarding Pred's mod are to be asked here.
-
Still limited though. Any thoughts on the armour system?
-
You're not. I don't like the TKing public servers.
-
Does it also find and indentify the target instead of you? Nope. That's the issue here. It identifys the target and finds it automaticly. I think something could work to put the target on radar with the right click report. Maybe a work around with that could be implemented, but I'd imagine it'd be hard.
-
I doubt that dynamicly destructable buildings are possible without massive lag.
-
You don't put it there. You put in your ArmA main directory under Addons.
-
Oh that would be a blessing! The autocentre is an annoying annoying thing that just hampers your flying.
-
Against the Rising Sun This one looks good. And then there's the one in my sig.
-
You can just shut it off and texture it. It's more efficient and would probably look better than the whole thing narrowing to one point.
-
Or we should stop relying on scripts and workarounds for something that should've been there in the first place. Hopefully BIS will notice this. Forget modding everything, some things BIS should've included from start. I guess they missed this and I hope they frigging add this. Not that much to ask.
-
That's pretty much useless. It's not like anybody is going to see that.

JimLad: Don't blame BIS that nvidia gave you shitty drivers, as you can see many 8800 users are having various problems. New architecture of the card, new drivers and all, released a bit too late for BIS to fix it. They are trying, but it's not their fault. I also have a 6600gt, with a weaker CPU and less RAM. I used to have those problems, but I put my settings on low-normal, with forced vsync off and a few other tweaks and the game runs nicely. I get a nice FPS in cities and even better in deserts. Forests, however, kill me, as they are pixel shader intensive, and that kinda sucks. Really sucks. But perhaps BIS will work that out somehow :P.
-
Well they don't have tracers, but they do have multiple muzzle flashes, it's pseudo multiple machine guns, col klink has it on his page.
-
Lets count it as a bug and hope BIS will fix it. I was hoping multiple turrets also meant multiple tracer locations. Maybe if the other minigun can be defined as another turret but it fires at the same time tracers can be implemented on it to?

That's sprinting.

P1nkmesh from Military Meshes? The UV map still needs work. And what's this: Are the barrels unwrapped cylindrically? Looks like top/down to me. But that's on first sight, haven't dived into it. Other than that for now, great model.

Can some one teach me to mod?
MehMan replied to Tricloid's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Ah don't give up so fast! It's worth a shot, you don't have to have 8 hours a day free for this, an hour here an hour there and you'll get enough free time and you'll start learning and improve. -
MI24 HIND : is it worth starting one ?
MehMan replied to EricM's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Pretty much that's it I believe. -

That's a pretty big plan you got there. Hope you've got the dedication to work on that. but www.ofpec.com offers a good start to modeling with the old tools.
