Some Modern Russian Boomsticks
MehMan replied to nephilim's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Ah, in that case, all I can say is, excelent work! -
It's a WIP. He probably just didn't configure the blur textures yet. He wanted to show the tilt rotor.

Some Modern Russian Boomsticks

Very nice! The only thing that seems strange is the wear on the wood. Wouldn't the wood turn to a lighter pigment/shade than grey? Other than that, extremely good work with the textures and model. You should write a texturing tutorial . -
Probably the latter. If you look at the harrier autohover thing, you can see that even when it's turned on, once you pass a certian speed the nozzles go back up.

Very nice mate!

Well, I've noticed quite a few sound problems in ArmA, mainly my gun couldn't be heard firing and a few other sounds just disappeared, greatly destroying the atmosphere. I've tried turning off hardware acceleration, nothing, EAX, nothing, I've played around in DxDiag, nothing. But then I started seeing a pattern. The RADIO! Yep, the radio seems to be bugged. The leader says something on the radio like so: 1: 5, target that machinegunner But sometimes it doesn't complete that message, it just goes, 1: 5, (noise) That noise goes on for a while and then just ends. After that you cannot send any radio messages out. And also you cannot hear your gun and a few other sounds. So the problem, in my eyes, is that the bug occurs when the radio message isn't completed. It could be that, but it could be another problem. I have an Audigy 2 ZS(latest drivers), Windows XP sp2. But I doubt my hardware is the problem. It could be related. Anybody else having these problems?

Uhh.. what? Â The early game2 shots look like they just rendered them in a 3d program. Look like is the important factor. This could also be a prerendered screenshot as there's only one. Or they could have just so little content that they only put this one out.
-
Too early to tell, but seeing how many big publishers/developers don't like to take risks at something different than BF2 or the like, I doubt it'll be anything like OFP. But that one screenshot shows nothing. Could as well be prerendered(much like many of the Game2 screenshots look like).

NEWSFLASH: there are other missions than Evolution
MehMan replied to Kwato's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
Seems to me that the less players there are, the more they cooperate. -
These forums kinda scare me. I only now realize that I argue with people who are old enough to be my father. 18.

Erm, I don't think you can be breaking the law by making realistic armour values...In that case Steel Beasts would be illegal and I don't think LOMAC would be allowed too. I am fine now that I've seen what you meant, for a moment there I thought that they had actually simulated optics failed due to a shot to the optics, instead of what you said, so much damage to the general turret area and optics and turret itself stops to work.
-
High res version There we go. Might not be the best.
-
I think Youtube hates me. It puts my vid a tiny tad bit out of sync, just a bit, you guys probably don't notice but I do. Grr, and that ugly compression. I'm uploading the high-res one if anybody'll want it.

Waste a minute and sixteen seconds of your life

I think you're missing the point. ArmA currently doesn't have a decent simulation of directional and sloped armour. Do you really think that if something as essential as directional armour(gonna take sloped away) isn't simulated properly on a tank that destroying optics will be simulated? I think that's a bit too much to expect, but if that is the case, then BIS has strange prioroties.
-
@Walker: [CS]SOBR[1st-I-R] is talking about the fact that ArmA can't properly simulate directional armour or any of the many real life tank features, yet you think it can simulate busted optics that a lucky shot might have caused.

I spent three years working with milkshape. I know what it can and can't do. Max beats it hands down. You can model much faster and much more efficently in Max.
-
Believe me, it isn't. I used Milkshape before I switched to max. Max beats it. But milkshape is a good learning program.
-
Same here.
-
I have heard that 3dsmax existed for DOS, I only know one person who actually started using max there, he's a good freelancer in Belgium now. Can't even imagine how it must've been back then, I started using max at version 7, before that I was modeling in Milkshape :S. Sorry for OT! Shadow NX, any thoughts on my offer?
-
A contradiction! Sessh, DOS? :O
-
Woah. That kid has problems.

Hehe, I won't, I won't. It's just an idea I like to toy with in my head now that you can control more than 12 people. One thing on the new version: please please please don't allow selecting missions. It just takes the fun out of it all. The thing I loved with dynamic missions was that you never knew what you were going to get and that made them truly dynamic and realistic too(at least in a way). What do the others think about this?
-
Ah, the yousendit link works! Wanna check out the new version. Just had loads of fun with the old one. Forgot how much I really love dynamic missions. Also makes me want to be able to control more squads :P.

Is anybody else getting a corrupt file warning when trying to extract 0.91b?
