I have more sad future prognosis.  The big portion of old OFP fans were utterly disspointed, even mad at BiS. They still bought the full game. With ARMA2 they wont do it. Demo first. Those include CTI ECL CTF players. These players suffer from; as i call it "Lack of OFP Atmosphere Sindrome" - LOFPAS . I suffer from it too. We sing in chorus: arma has garbage campaign, player controls, sounds, recoil, funny beeps after vehicle explosion, dumb airvehicles controls, wich make helis easy targets for tanks, dumb ais ... et cetera. So at this point Codies have better cards on their hands.  Both games might live together, but i feel one game will leave the arena eventually and something suggest it might be BiS. Next year gonna be interesting. >Total ... yeah ... Egosoft foreva  Â

BIS was very veeery lucky, that hoards of ol' OFP fans bought the ARMA. After they bought it, they realized what buged sh** it was compared to original OFP. No storyline, crazy sounds, stability, flight controls ... leaving aside the Ai issues. So the real question for me and them here. "Why i am not going to buy arma at the begining and maybe buy it later." Bis better show us Demo before the ARMA2. Having in mind how Marek with his group ripped us, i still wish them luck ... small companys sometimes have to sacrifise ol' fans, for the benefit of new ones. Sad reality

All nVidia 7x users need hotfixes in their heads! Â 7x cards coolers are very very VERY gay design! After 2-3 months of usage tons of dust gets between fan and radiator in enclosed compartment! The card overheats as hell and you get lots of artifacts (like stated in first post), and in most games. (BTW, card tempo screening doesnt help alot, dunno why). Already cleaned my 7900 and 2x friends 7900 coolers and goes perfectly! Unfortunately cleaning 7x coolers is not so easy, bu with little screwdriver everything is possible. EDIT: vCore temperature can go quite high with no artifacts, unfortunately vMemmory gets very unstable in higher temps on 79xx's. Your vCore can go 60-70 heating whole card, but problems will be from vMemory as on 60-70 it starts crashing.

Yeah, and there should be "disable minimap" option for veteran servers (if arma has ones, dont have the game yet). No 3rd, tags ... and other noobish cr*p. In real world it takes time to get the map out of the pocket, and there is no moving markers on it! And i already love the msp loading idea! Be real!

Well, i think you look into it from the other direction. In my view, everything depends on money. How much BIs will pump out of Arma. Look at review sites ... 60/70/80 no more ... We fans, are only small portion of the market wich BIs planingto take with arma. Other n00bs will buy (or not) the game based on those crap reviewers opinion. No money (low profit) - no game2. BTW, i would leave the name game2, sounds seriuos. Bohemia Interactive Studios - game2

Err, there were laser guided bombs on the A-10 in one of the OFP patches. Yes, they were indeed! the only thing Bis should make in arma is too upgrade the system itself: 1. ALL map players (one side) should be able to target targets for A10 with painters. 2. Guided bombs could be droped from higher altitude! 3. MP must support better code for guided bombimg,as at this case in OFP lag kills the fun of guided bombs. Haha .. if this will be implemented it will definately change CTI gaming!

Jep, to the point! No dynamic destruction on all buildings and i suppose everyone was just thining bout that. Bout damage=0 damage=1, you wrote in 2 lines what took me to half a page. But the problem remains. How many new models game have to use for destroyed bulding? I shot a sabot to building corner, dust comes out .. and voila ... i have a bulding without a roof or a hole in second floor ... still confusing ...

For Christ sake Kendo, you had 1 year to save some bucks for the PC! We knew what arma would like year ago, and of course we knew that it will be system demanding. But dont think that we are all millionaires here ... My car will leave with old winter tyres, new TV will have to wait (i still have Sony 1 Ton Trinitron ). But the best part is my girlfriend is away for half a year

And other building in town (special one) without 2 floor So i suppose it will be just in that way, it is really hard to imagine all town buuilding destroyed, without roofs, 2 floors, holes, etc .. nice, but imposible even with fastest Dual Core intel duo cpus. just my 2 cents... Added: ohh after smoking one cigarete and making some thoughts i think that we will be able to destroy all OPEN buildings (with rooms, etc) wich, as far as i remember from ofp) where only few in town (and as placebo mentioned, will be only few in arma aswell) CLOSED buldings, i suppose, will have some effects: bang, dust comin up, some debris falling (maybe disaperring after awhile and when dust clears we have nice texture on building...

No no no, i am looking into it from .. my PC perspective: 1. Wait till the Arma available online order, i have no time to wait till game appear in some Lithuania store shelf. 2. When arma online, order it and at the same day run to my friends PC shop with 1500EUR (wich i was hiding in house in secret place in WC ) and get new Intel 2 Duo CPU, new mainboard with Sli compability, 2 gig ram, new sony 19 LCD, new video card, new keyborad, new mouse and of course ....... order online good Headphones with mic. Achhhhh 3. Install and test hardware, maybe even add watercooling (i am too old for that, but what can you do for arma) and wait wait till online order appear in you post box ... 4. Install arma, go to options find out everything make sure of every damn key, every damn option. 5. Of course, first things first, i want to enjoy every second of arma singleplayer so i adjust my game to perfect using Mission Editor. a) test all the vehicles in mission editor (just put buch of them em use one by one).b) test all video options for lag and other malfunctions .. adjust test adjust test. ... 6. Play single mission till you die in your flat near pc or till you finish the campain. 8...... wait for crCTI for Arma ... Enjoy, but remember, it is only a game .. there is real life going on outside...

The main problem in MP one big tank versus bunch of small ones is quite fair, but the prbolem in OFP R remained the control of the group. And i think thats why (in crCTI and in future in ArmA) people complained that it is not FAIR to have bunch of weak tanks versus one M1, becouse they were afraid of comanding theyr group ... and they are right at some point ... comanding in OFP R is quite tricky, you have to KNOW, all those command keys ... for example .. how often u used command: Look SW (command said in clock inradio) or other rare, but usefull commands? And having in mind .. that you can easily make a mistake when rushing to press allthose buttons... Thats why the comanding inOFP R in battle was a real nightmare and most of the players just ignred that.... And of course delays in responding ... voice.pbo ...

Yes, it stood...did you even play the multiplayer ? There is a big difference between T80 vs M1 and BMP vs M1. If T-80 could land the first shot and move somewhere then M1 and T80 became balanced. One of players from my clan is really good in tank. M1 is not a problem to bust when in T80 for him. Now BMP or Shilka or T72 vs M1 is a joke. Too slow reload(T-72) or damage (Shilka) to counter M1. BMP can take M1 out but if M1 finds the BMP, it would take one shot for M1 to kill the BMP. Hmmmmm .... As you all know this system already implemented in crCTI. There are some good and of course bad points about this issue. First of all, lets make clear that we are talking about this system will show itself in multiplayer, as we know that singleplayer will be made for us not to loose, but to win and have fun (thats why some ppl pay money for BIS!. Other fellas like me (and most of BIs community) see singleplayer as ... hmmm ... nice addon to a game to have some fun alone. Secondly (to all tank pros as me ... kche kche, ) lets make clear that tank strengh is not a big problem when you have the option to buy cheaper but weaker tank versus one but BIG M1. we just "forget" that the enemy in front of us in M1 has ia better vehicle, becouse we know that tank strengh is only 40% of the battle, other is LANDSCAPE and ability to predict enemy movements when he is out of the radar (behind the hill) and the third ... our finger speed and reaction in ... comandin other AI tanks in our group. We can fool the m1 and flank him. We can send a "rabbit" t80 in front of his nose just before we ready to flank him and ... when M1 starts reloading after first hit to t80 (and at that moment we have his "square on radar" couse he hit our teammate and we can lock on him even not seing him, and we can shoot him as soon as the turret will be horizontal to the m1 when going uphill) .. We can make 2x t80s and invest in BMP, formate V, loose BMP, kill M1 or even 2 M1s and loose only BMP and maybe 2 injured t80s or one t80 dead another as new... Or (i think thats one of my top 5 strategies (for plain surface area), thanks to my one firend) ... buy 3 t80s (2000$ each in crCTI = 6000$ form column and go straigh to 2x Abramns (2x4000$ = 8000$. 70% that both abrams will try to hit your first tank (YOU), then turn left/righ (from m1 it will look like, form line) and form V! (try to imagine). Then HALT, hide betwenn another tank (you are still locked by m1) and fun begins. At that moment you will have 2 to your t80 both or one abrams will have 3 hits in total (1 by you 2 others). In most cases standing still M1 (player thinking wtf they r doing?) will miss you while you reformating (from column to V) And voila ... you have hit bonus. Wosrt scenario you will loose 3 (including yours) tanks and kill both m1s, best scenarion you will have YouR own tank damaged but capable to move (you hided between other groupmate AI on halt and was still able to shoot) 2 T80s down ( - 4000$ and both abrams down ( - 8000$. tragedy (not often) you loose sabot or one side track and cant move. Ok enought of blah blah ... What i mean .. 1. We need ALOT better menu for comanding gruop units! Wich we know in Arma will be better then in OFP. 2. Faster responce from AI (smbd says that voice.pbo is a cheat at at some point i agree with them, even though i use it from time to time ) 3. "repaired" formations .. we all know that if you loose a tank from formation .. ducks go faster than tanks (waiting for lost tank to get back). This must be somehow repaired. As i lost lots of virtual crCTI money becouse of that crap. 4. Take out crap 3rd Cadet newbie mode! Newbies must learn how to play with tanks as fast as possible! 5. Leave radar red dot till all the crew is dead. White dot ONLY when tank is empty! 6. (Important) posibility to LOCK THE CLOCK (no target). For example ... pointing the target cross (of course i have in mind when siting as com, you damn newbies) to 9 oclcok (lockin air) and gunner ponits turret to that direction and leaves it there! even if some of these recomendation will be fulfiled we will have hell of a lot of fun playin for example 3x or 2x t72s versus one M1. I write too much ...
