  1. Would that help probably?
  2. So you don´t know Mr-Murrays ArmA Editing Guide? It´s a Editing ressource which was written by him since the first days of OFP. The ArmA Editing Guide is the latest version of that ressource. Mr-Murray is currently about to figure out the content for the ArmA2 Editing Guide. Your script will definately be a part of it, cause it´s pretty useful.
  3. That sounds pretty good, I´ll inform Mr-Murray for getting as a further content for the Editing guide. Is it totally your work or is the vehicle.sqf already a part of the already included scripts?

Ohh...nice to know...havent tried it out yet, may be I should do though.
  5. Hello and welcome to the ArmA Com. If any questions still persisting related to the Editor so take a look right in the Editing Guide listed in my Sig. It´s actually written by Mr-Murray for ArmA1 but most of the content can still be used for ArmA2. A book for ArmA2 is currently in work but will still take a while until it can be translated again.
  6. You also can take a look into Mr-Murray Editing Guide. There´s a bunch of information in it. A book for A2 will follow later but you can use it as well. You find the book in my signature...

    Mr Murray Editor Guide

OK Guys, since I am the official translator of the guide and leader of the translation Team, I talked to Mr-Murray and he said that I can answer about the hidden question in the first post of this thread. Mr-Murray and me are working out the content for A2 right now. This is needed to figure out all the related things for book 2. This will exactly mean that an updated version of the guide for ArmA2 will definately follow. I only cant say somethings about release. Thats really much too early. Most of the content of book1 can be used for A2 as well. That should help you waiting until releaseday. Any questions about Book2 please in the official thread regards MemphisBelle

    LHD Editoraddon

This is a really nice addon, so thanks for this. Is the setpos getpos command the only way to place units/Objects on it or are there any other possibilities left?

    ArmA Editing 101 for Dummies

ok, noticed that my links are not working anymore... will fix asap
  12. For beginners a very good ressource is the Armed Assault Editing Guide written by Mr-Murray. It´s written for experts as well as it was for beginners. But this is actually related to ArmA1 so commands and other things might not work as explained in the guide. You can find it right in my signature. Don´t hazitate to ask if any further questions appear.
  13. hmmm.....if it is really your first one, so you shouldnt release it actually (thats my opinion). The reason is that too many missions will be released unfinished or created by new Community members who dont have any expirience in editing a mission. We already had thousands of "crappy" Missions released since the times of OFP. It would actually not a quite good thing to get these old days back. If I can give you an advice so play the Mission (if it is a MP Mission) with your friends or if it is a Singleplayer Mission, so share with your friends and expect their reactions. If they like them so contact some more expirienced Com members and ask them for testing the mission or better, become your mission evaluated. Additionally you´d take a look right in the Editing Guide (written by Mr-Murray) which you can find in my sig. But notice that the content is related to ArmA1 and is not updated yet to ArmA2. But this is still a Work in progress.
  14. Thanks for praising You actually said everything, so I only will add a little note. Please keep in mind that this guide was written by Mr-Murray for ArmA1. So the content is not yet updated up to ArmA2, but you can use most of it. If any question appear dont hazitate to ask, even me per pm. As you can see in my sig so I belong to the Editing Guide Team...

    ArmA Editing 101 for Dummies

you also can use the ArmA Editing guide (written by Mr-Murray) for the first impressions. But keep in mind that all this content is avtually related to ArmA1. But most of those ones can be used in ArmA2 also, espacially when it comes to the very basic things like what is an Missionfolder? What is the mission.sqm? How to place units on the map? And so on. You can get it right from my signature...
  16. Sorry Mr-Murray, but yeah, there are strictly plans (and the work already began) to update the guide from ArmA to ArmA2. But for more information you´d ask the actual Author Mr-Murray. I am only the translator...;)
  17. Hello everybody, I´d like to ask about how can I realize a linebreak within a rsctext ressource? I already know that there´s a special define needed which has at first to be placed in the Description.ext and then in the subclass of the ressource, as shown in my example below. I already know the Wiki source: Wiki Ressource description. I also located the linebreak desciption in the Wiki: _stxt3 = lineBreak (located at:http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/lineBreak). But I dont know how to handle that command like \n for titlecuts. Intro is the respective ressource which shall display the Text with linebreaks. But how can I define the break and what the hell does ArmA means with: Thanks for any help

    RSCText Special question

Hmmm...and this is exactly what I dont get. Is it only possible to define the Text right within that syntax, or can I use a string instead of the text, but how would then the br tag behave to the string..... So my question is. Is a line break used in structured Text basically possible? From this point of view I would say no...

    RSCText Special question

OK, I tried it out and it doesnt work. What do I have to do to define the structuredText Code within my Camscript? The Wiki is nice and it´s interesting to know what is possible to do, but HOW can I define the well described Commands within a camscript? The Wiki is not explaining that.... What do I mean? RSCText --> definition in a script:  titleRsc ["Text or $STR_string" , "Plain"] TitleText --> definition in a script: titlecut ["Text only String doesnt work" , "Plain"] Structured Text --> definition in a script: "?"

    RSCText Special question

Thanks for your reply. The thing is that I have a bunch of text ressources which are defined in one single line only, can I nevertheless change the define to type = CT_STRUCTURED_TEXT? What does it mean? Does it mean that I simply have to use <br/> within a line to break it into a second line? But how its ment while using a stringtable.csv. Can I use the same there as well? In the description: and in the stringtable: (Currently I am on work, otherwise I would just test it out before asking)

    noobie mission editor question

One of these tools is called cpbo. This tool is needed to extract pbo files. Because even mission files are pbo files, they have to get extracted and placed right in your files/ArmA/missions directory... For some reason Cpbo does not work in vista..atleast it doesnt for me...My other machine XP Â Â It works fine on There must another reason, as you read Wolles posts, he said that his cpbo works fine on Vista x64. I thing those issues are user related...

    noobie mission editor question

    noobie mission editor question

What is your operating system? I noticed a couple days ago a similar issue at a friends machine. He ran Win Vista and had no extracted folder after he was clicking on extract, but he had that option in his contextmenu. In your case it could be a security setting of your system. It might be that you are need to execute as administrator.

As you can see in case A, one of the advantages of cpbo is that all pbo files look different to non pbo files, which is easier to locate them, if needed. Case B shows the example of contextmenu after rightclick on a pbo file. One would now have the possibilitie to extracta pbo file. The folder will be saved right in the same folder where the pbo is located. Case C shows the way what would happen if a folder shall get repacked back to a pbo file, just click on create pbo...thats it.. You can also use BIS pbo tool, thats not less usefull but a little more complicate to handle for those who have absolutely no idea how to use those files..
