Yeah, would fancy some cooperation. KK, what do you need?
-
Hey Wiki, I can do some basic cinematics. No promises on a boot camp + firing range mission, but at least I can try. ;)
-
Hey Corporal_LiB,
great suggestions, but do we also have the right OPFOR? Ugandan soldiers and Palestinian terrorists if I recall correctly?
-
@Karmaluja and KK:
please make sure you do not miss the partial A2 Isla Duala requirements (these were listed by KK correctly and I suspect them to break the saves on A3MP). Alternatively, please make sure to have the latest version of A3MP installed, because on all older versions, saves did not work and it broke the saves on all other maps.
@Valken: Thank you for your positive and constructive feedback.
I equipped all soldiers with 5 or 6 mags as default, so why they are still complaining is beyond me (I am rather confident that such a magazine number was sufficient in Arma2). Getting your squadmates to rearm is done using the "Rearm at..." command. Note that AI squads do that automatically. I think adding a "Go code" radio message at the player's control would be beneficial and I'll do that in a future update. Are there any more wishes to the basic mission structure (save for non-existent females)?
P.S: If you enter the middle trough the ravine, following the WP, you are likely to be flanked and it is very hard, if you flank the enemy yourself, you are more likely to see the end with less effort. ;)

Thank you for trying out - I have now fixed the links by deleting the ";" in the link!

-One folder for use in the editor (feel free to learn and copy from this mission).
-One pbo that goes into the "missions" folder to play right away.
Overview:
Delta force commandos are tasked with leading a force of Contras to recapture a village recently lost to the Sandinista government forces.

Known Issues:
* Overview still quite messy since I do not know to implement line breaks, as <br/> shows up in the text.

Just played mission 5 and I like it a lot. My only complaint is that the soldiers don't disembark from their Datsuns once these are destroyed - that looks weird. Everything apart from this is nice gameplay.
-
Just finished Mission 4: Road Trip and found it to be a fine little mission with some tasks lacking some action (reality as opposed to Hollywood-esque epic battles) with a little thougher nut to crack at the end of the mission. I really like your style of mission making.

Wiki,
I tried to implement 2 community campaigns over at OFPEC and failed twice to attract a huge mission makers crowd. I would say we start early as a 2-man team, and once we gain publicity, others will jump the bandwagon (hopefully).
@L3TUC: I agree with you, somehow the situation feels a lot like OFP in 2002 where you had countless missions of the "capture the village and await the inevitable counterattack" or "find and destroy that SCUD" type. Not very original and not very sophisticated. As a long time mission maker myself, I feel that making missions in A3 is a bit different than in A2, so there's an initial hurdle of overcoming tried and tested habits and methods. Plus that Sci-Fi scenario is putting off many old well known editors. I think that the future is bright, but yeah, a proper review system would really be needed.
Why not create a mission review thread? Or, a subforum would be better, or even the best solution: www.ofpec.com. If enough people flock to the granddaddy of mission reviewing, then we can start the review process and lift this long broken site from its current hibernation.

Hey, I just found the ArmA2 DLC codes in the wealth of data I rescued from my old PC and therefor I can comment on the mission (but thanks for the download links anyway):
Well balanced, the enemy tanks at the objective offer some resistance that is dangerous if not dealt with quickly, and the reinforcements just arrive in a timeframe which allows me a hasty retreat, keeping me and my squad on the heels. Plus I get to blow up a lot of stuff *muhaha*. Still, cinematics or some kind of story would be the cream on the cake for all your missions.
-
Wiki,
so your campaign idea is dead in the water? I think leading by example is a good idea, and it has worked for ArmA2 via RWO, and I think it will work for RWO A3 as well once there are a few missions out there.
-
Mission 3: Paratroopers contains a missing addon: ca_characters.acr so I cannot play it. Please update the mission.sqm and re-upload.
-
Well, I think most of the crowd just play and don't comment, but you do find a load of comments for those missions that are good though. But I think nobody bothers to give feedback outside of Steam Workshop. Albeit the MP crowd is bigger, I am confinent that one can find encouragement and feedback if one uses the Steam Workshop publication method.

Mission 2: Lizard
Is a long mission and the last objective is rather hard.... very well done, I have nothing to complain about it.
-
The Nalchik idea sounds good!
@Wiki: Could you post your ideas in the appropriate RWO threads for each ArmA2 and ArmA3? Oh, and what about that campaign idea of yours?
-
Good to hear that you are still aboard headup, I am looking forward to your creations. Right now I am lacking the right creative inspiration to do a mission either in Arma2 or Arma3, but I am not out of the loop either.

Crimson_Ghost138, just in case you are not aware of Camopedia:

Maybe these camo swatches are of any use to you....
-
Oh wow, this is the best news about Arma3 to date. But the Jagdkommando camo looks a bit too ACU to me. I am pretty sure that it contains a bit more green color, please see the following link:

I hope you can finish something!

Tried the First mission: Bunkers and I found it to be very enjoyable. Did not find any typos in the briefing, the overview was good, and the WW2 bunkers are seldom seen in any mission. The action was mildly challenging and totally alright. The only thing missing from this mission are the cinematics.
-
Hey TokyoIndia,
would you mind to attach that mission to the post or provide a download link? This saves people the hassle of writng a PM and waiting for a reply- you will get more testing coverage this way.
-
Hey I really like that mission,
the helo insert is a bit twitchy, but the overall feel of the mission is great. How did you manage to put the custom flag (EU) on the uniforms?
-
As the last mission of yours I played, this is a though beast, and while I liked the fight for the radio mast very much, I am now at a loss how to find the hostages without UAVs and survive the fight through Abdera. Guess I have to re-try using the UAV to stand any chance.
-
Hey bardosy,
thanks for the heads up, so I will play the most up to date campaign. Offtopic: A long bike ride is the best help against body fat ;). Let me know if you do it and we can grab a meal and some Almdudler again!

Thank you for your suggestions. I will update my latest mission first, and then think about the next - your idea will be definitely on the "to do" list. :)
