  1. Hey barbolani,

    I think this mission is really great - the only thing not working was the artillery. I tried it out first when being holed up in the construction site awaiting the enemy onslaught, and the artillery gunner (codename Keeper) was greyed out. But I could finish the mission anyway. Would you like to submit it to OFPEC for further feedback, and possibly scoring?


  2. I'm surprised how nowbody tested this, since I had hours of fun with it, even if I was not able to complete this mission.

    Here are my suggestions for improvements:

    -Please leave more time to plant the ambush explosives - it's maybe just 10 seconds

    -Let the player start with a team

    -Provide a weapons and equipment stash at the infil LZ

    -Reduce the amount of enemies at the CnC - If I did not count wrong they are 10+ and I am alone

    -Check the briefing - none of the objectives ticked off, even If I blew up the helo and cleared the first LZ (so the 2nd objective should definitely tick off).

    Keep up the good work!


  3. Congrats on fixing the medic bug in our Vietnam campaign!

    Meanwhile, I am having great fun with your Operation Ghostrider mission of the HOT campaign. It is absolutely bug-free, and the volume of fire audible in that mission is just breakthtaking. It's not a hard mission, but feels like a war film. Splendid job (including your perfect cinematics).

    Thank you for your keen eyes gentlemen, I will update the mission accordingly in the following days - all your suggestions are pretty valid stuff. The helos were intended as a target from the beginning, yet since the enemy converges on you like a ton of brick once detected, that objective was left out to attain a "playable" level of difficulty.

    Overview:

    Your squad of guerillas has just received a shipment of new uniforms and weapons and is about to wreak havoc on the enemy.

    Status:

    Third version, feedback very much appreciated.

    -Custom textures for the intro, kindly provided by Brainbug

    -Custom textures for enemy soldiers and vehicles made from daisukekazama's and fallschirm-jaeger's as well as madcomputerscientist's (for the outro) camo textures at www.camo-club.deviantart.com

    -UPS script updated to the latest version

    -Scope added in the gear crates

    -Toned down enemy numbers (still very hard difficulty)

    Known Issues:

    -Intro is to be redone by a fellow very community member. Right now it is not very clear or technically perfect

    -First objective (Ambush truck) does not tick off

    -Very high difficulty - need advice which script to use to keep the patrols random without overwhelming the player

  6. Hey nettrucker, no problem - real life comes first. I actually was inside the base (after running in circles after my squad leader for quite some time), yet the mission did not end anyway.

    On with Hammer of Thor (the next mission). This is a better balanced one, since there is plenty of cover between the objective buildings. An old bug that I associated only with the Unsung mod pops up: After about 5 minutes, you are not able to heal your squadmates anymore, and this fact costs me my whole squad early on. Since the enemy has already been reduced by the fighting, I am able to pick off the few stragglers left in the buildings and clear the base with the help of another friendly squad. Good mission!


  7. Feedback for On the hot spot

    Cinematics and sound are top notch. The mission itself is cool until the shit hits the fan. Then you are really on the hot spot, meaning if you peek out of cover, you are killed pretty instantly, if you keep your head down in the grass, you won't hit anything. A rather tedious experience, plus the mission does not end - this bug should be corrected.

    Mission 2: Spearhead

    I really like your up-tempo custom music that accompanies the outstanding cinematics and the start of the mission. The mission itself is challenging combat until the target building 4 is cleared (leaving one target building south of the village to go). Then my squad stops and does not move until I move into Shabaz all alone. This is what I would consider a bug.

    Clearing Shabaz alone is a real pain in the ass, only for the last enemy troops, my own squad comes to rush into the village, yet clearing each rooms remains my duty. The outro is great as well.

    Bottom line: Long and hard mission but with a bug mid-mission that would keep most players from playing through.


  9. Wow how come that this has escaped my attention until now....

    Mission 1: Welcome to Takistan

    I guess this mission makes the most out of the Desert terrain.... the color filter with the dust in the distance fits perfectly, as does the lighting. I feel the fully voiced dialogue and the mission setup is really not unrealistic, the mission is somewhat challenging yet well balanced. I dig the lengthy and well made cutscenes - looks likely that this campaign is a gem at least it appears for the first mission.


  10. Ah, crap, that comes from playing the other Patrol boat mission earlier, where you are supposed NOT to set any foot on land :o

    Then I can give you some feedback in the coming days.

    River Patrol is a nice long mission with large stretches of patrolling are interrupted by bursts of combat action - feels realistic for me and does not feature any bugs.

    S&R is also a long patrolling mission, which is quite eventless until the player hits the SA-2 missile, then it becomes a hair-raising running gun battle back to the helo. All optional objectives work without a bug as well. Great job and congratulations.


  11. Unfortunately, here is another one that has escaped the quality check: Patrol Boat Charlie

    I can get to the first village - called An Loc where I fight down a small squad of enemies, yet the objective is not ticked off. Looks like that there is a lone enemy hiding in the bush who cannot be found. Also, since the coastline is populated by fishing huts, it is hard to tell where An Loc actually ends, and so I ended my search at the makeshift bridge, halfway to the next village. While you are at the task adjusting enemy numbers for the objective to tick off, please add an area marker for all the villages to be searched.


  12. Recon Charlie

    This mission has several issues:

    - The briefing does not show up before mission start

    - After a short walk, the squad just stops by the river and never moves on, so I cannot complete the mission.

    Also, could you provide a list of named missions that form up this pack? The readme does not provide one and I do not want to mix em up with several other unsung missions I have in my missions folder.

  14. Hey Wiki, don't be so discouraged....

    I have put up the very first beta of my very first A3 mission on Steam, and guesss what: 135 subscribers, 2 of them have favourited the mission, and I got 1 follower, and already a handful of comments - some positive, some negative but all pointing out things to improve. An all this in the first week.
