The best of Americas Army is it`s training. After the Special Forces training i played AA online, and i was not satisfied. Everyone on the servers is fighting for its own. There are also many things i miss in AA. Back on topic, i`m sure that realism will be a big factor in Armed Assault.

Why can`t you Alt+Tab back to windows? It should work without an problem.

Nero Showtime 2 can play the vob file with sound. No need to convert it into another format.

It`s like an miracle, but the Saitek X52 works for OFP without a profile. You only have to enable the joystick in the options menu. All buttons and axis are managed thru directx. Edit: @ Wenker The Saitek X52 is no Force Feedback Joystick.

I`ve found it. AH-56 Cheyenne V1.1 My link works, i uploaded it to rapidshare. Scroll down and click free. I downloaded this addon in july 2003, so it`s an old one. Don`t look that good, but it`s working. The link on OFP.info works too, it`s the same version of that addon that i have uploaded.

I`ll start a search on my PC. When i still got it stored somewhere i`ll upload it. Stay tuned.

Maybe you should think about buying an soundcard. Your onboard soundchip takes resources from your RAM and from your Processor too. Creative Audigy2 cards are available for a good price. I got one myself, and i`m absolutely satisfied. When you built in an soundcard to your PC, don`t forget to disable the onbaord sound in the BIOS.

Can someone explain the addon handling Armed Assault will use. Do we still need mod folders, or is the addon handling that flexible, so we can drop all addons in, and tell from the option menu what units we like to use. An improved addon handling is very importend for Arma, imo.

I`m playing OFP with an Saitek X52, works perfect. When you use an joystick in OFP, some helpfull things are disabled. The helicopter will no longer keep it`s hight automaticly, you have to use the throttle to hold the helicopter in the air. The use of an joystick makes helicopter flying much more realistic. What means, if you do not keep your eyes on your instruments and hud, and your hands on the controls, you will get killed without an enemy shot.

To open the file rightclick on it and tell your pc "open with". You will get an list of programms that ar installed, click on winrar, winzip or any other filepacker tool you have installed. WW2 addons should be @ OFPinfo/ Gamezone.cz. Youst use the search function and you will find what you search. btw.

I stick to Nvidia after various problems i had with ATI cards. Nvidia provides the best driver support you can get. I don`t care wich card is faster. Nvida is fast enough for me, especialy as i don`t have the money to buy always the latest hardware.

I`m still waiting for Arma, and to shorten the time i`ve bought the F.E.A.R. Director`s Edition DVD at Amazon for 32€. While playing F.E.A.R., i had to fight against the most clever AI that i ever met in an game. More info here. It`s a little tricky to find the right hardware settings for this game, but if you have a strong pc, you might want to give it a try. Used versions of F.E.A.R. are in store for around 25€.

It`s a great way to organize addons because we have to. If OFP1 would have give another addon handling, we wouldn`t need mod folders. It`s anoying when you start a mission and an messege pops up, and tells you that there is something missing. You shut down OFP, restart it with mod A that includes the missing file. Than another message pops up, because an addon in mod A needs another addon in mod xy, or the missing addon cant be used when it is installed in two active mods. Mod folders helped alot, but the use of mod folders produce problems also. With the full conversion mods it is another problem. You have to install tons of addons, that you already have installed. My OFP installation wights 18.7Gb, and most of this is caused by mods that have all the same addons in it.

Yes, but maybe we dont need this configs any longer. Maybe we can select, for example HYK_USsol as standart us troops used in arma.

Try the ffur mod or Y2K3, actualy there are different ffur mods and they are all well done. This mods are full conversion mods. By running this mods, that come with an installer, you can play the missions and campaigns with better loocking units and stuff. They make OFP look much better.
