As the Harrier is fully loaded, i can axept that. But try the landing autopilot. If there isn`t an waypoint missing at the runway, than the AI isn`t capable to bring the plane in one line with the runway.

Better a card with 512MB ram, an Geforce 7600GS or GT. The GeForce 7600GS with 512MB is not expensive, and can handle ArmA very well.

Scripted AI is the last thing we want in Armed Assault. If the AI is scripted, it is no longer an AI. Than whe would have script controlled non player characters.
-
Exactly, something felt totaly wrong when i had a testflight with the Harrier. On topic: The heli flightmodel is too bugged for the AI, and for me too. Flying around is mostly ok, but if you try to land the trouble starts. As the AI is an important part of Armed Assault, shouldn`t the AI be able to pilot anything. But they can`t, not the choppers and not the "planes". The AI can`t even land the Harrier.

I hope for an official expansion, that will add a little more content and a new campaign maybe. For ArmA`s performance, i must say i`m impressed. It looks better and runs better on my system, than expected. Arma mostly benefit from my new videocard with 512MB ram i think. Very often no sound? With onboard sound, but not with a "real" soundcard. Level of detail depends on the hardware you use. ArmA can look very good, but you need modern hardware to let it look good on you`re monitor. Shure, there is much that need to be fixed. But many weird problems have vanished with the first patch.

AV-8 Harrier and the Sopwith Camel, that`s all. Was a bit shocked, when i first opened the editor and didn`t found more planes. But there will be more. I think whe`ll get an official expansion for ArmA, and the moddingcommunity only need`s some tools, until they can start.

I`d bet BIS is aware of the problem with the flightmodel. No betatester could miss that fact. I hope for a patch, with a few corrections to the flightmodel.

NV works fine for me, must be youre videocard. Don`t used ATI cards in the last years. Have you installed the latest video drivers and the ArmA patch to version 1.01?
-
In the current state of ArmA, i doubt that it`s possible to end every mission and sidemission without the "endmission" cheat.
-
Yes, and not only when the AI is driving. Sometimes, AI soldiers do not move after they have gone prone. I ordered 3 go xx, 3 said roger and in the team menu i could see, 3 moving. But 3 didn`t moved,3 was still laying down and watched the surrounding as no orders where given.

Set postprocess to high. Personaly i don`t like to play with that effect.
-
Look @ my settings, works great with my GeForce 7600GS 512MB.
-
If this flightmodel is easy, how can it be that the AI is flying that bad? The "AI pilots" in OFP\Res where alot better.
-
I cant get my downloaded version too work
Mr_Tea replied to Herbert0100's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yes, it is. -
In OFP\Res i never have seen one single AI pilot, that had flown that stupidly. It`s like flightstudents after theire first flighthours in an heli, or plane. Noone would allow those people to handle multi million dollar hardware.
-
Have you patched ArmA to version 1.01?
-
Even if whe learn to fly this messed up flightmodel, the AI isn`t capable to fly the heli`s. Something must be changed, maybe a bit of the flightmodel and another bit of the "pilot AI". It`s the same for the harriers. The landing autopilot doesn`t work, but it should.
-
Next time they should name the patch in a way, that everyone can see if this is for the downloaded version of ArmA, or the DVD version.
-
And see, that you`ll get a videocard with 512MB Ram. Maybe only ArmA and Oblivion will benefit from that, but there will be more games to come.
-
The proof of the bad heli handling values, are the ingame situations where AI pilots fly around with the cobra. Haven`t seen until now how the AI handles the MH-6, but that can`t be better. The little "preview video" from the mission, where you have to destroy the convoy with the cobra, is the best example for the problems of the flightmodel. What is my joystick good for, when the AI can`t handle the choppers propperly.
-
It works with high settings for me. Postprocess normal, AF high and AA normal with 1200 meters viewdistance in 1280x1024. I think for high or very high, a videocard with 512MB Ram is needed. My GeForce 7600GS 512MB can handle Arma better than expectet. My AthlonXP 3200+ too.
-
I`m using the same driver for my GeForce 7600GS 512MB without that problem.
-
It`s the same problem that D2D (Direct to Drive) users have. You need a "special" patch for you`re version of the game.
