I think you will find that opinion all over Europe. The recent ban on a death penalty in Iraq had alot to do with British pressure. The British Government doesn't support executions, just as the French and Germans don't.
its been lifted IIRC, one of the freedoms that the new interim Gov't has. The british do not exdradite suspects to countries that have the death penalty and the person being extradited could face it, but seeing as this was an internal handover then that rule becomes null and void, Britain does not support the Death penalty internally and talks to other countries about the reasons why we don't support it, we don't try and change other countries minds about it.
Does it have anything to do with France or Germany what iraq's judicial system is? Why would it be a sign of democratic strength not to reinstate the death penalty? isnt it a sign of democracy that the new Interim Gov't gets to choose what there laws are? Didn't we instate the Death penalty for those responsible for the genocide commited in WWII?

How is the addon coming along, did you get the Tow working?

De Gaulle:Oil be back. That helicopter reminds me alot of a CH-47 crossed with the CH-35.
Personally i see the EF and JSF as two particulary over expensive heaps of metal and technology trying to compete with the original aircraft, eg Harrier, F-16, Gripen and maybe the odd A10.
The JSF is hardly worthless, the only VTOL craft we have at the moment is the Harrier, at the moment te harrier is out of date, it just does not have the speed to be usefull anymore i cant remeber the other factors that is slowly making it obselete, im pretty sure it has a fairly low maximum ceiling and the load of weapons it can hold along with its hovering time which is around only a minute because the engine over heats after a minute.

you know i suggested this before and i dont know if its feezablebut look into that whole Mcar deal and see if there isnt a way we can finnaly cross weapon loadouts. like have bombs and missels. have sidewinders, mavericks, and some LGBs
dont we already have this?

I found it rather fun and i dont even like MMORPG's.

The F35 JSF does not exist yet - it's even debatable if it will ever go to production or not. And it's far more expensive than the Eurofighter..........Not to mention that you'd rely on foreign spare parts if you chose a US plane, which is a big minus.
overall it would have cost less, the develoment cost you have to give was around 3 bn which is i think just over the amount the eurofighter has increased in cost, alsy the F35 is the replacement for the A10,Harrier,F-16, F/A-18,
check this article on the F35 (From last year, the cost incurred by the UK is far less when you add it all up.)
Also on the parts probally not because we would probally buy the licence to build the parts in the UK, much like the longbow where they are built under a uk Company.

surely no iraqi would be pleased about 2day, surely not, thats stupid seeing as he was such a nice guy.

Outdated? Â
The only thing that could be argued to be "better" is the F22 and the JSF (still in development). But that is very arguable as the EF beats both those in maneuvrablity. Long range engagements are usually handled by long range missiles anyway and have little to do with the plane. There are comparable alternatives, such as the "Flying Brick" Mirage as well as the "Best Plane In The World" JAS 39 Gripen. But they're all fairly similar.
And the EF gets you more hardware/€ than those two planes.
The RAF doesn't want the numbers, because it can't afford the numbers.
What alternative would you suggest, apart from disbanding the RAF or letting them fly Spitfires?
yes the RAF cannot afford the numbers because of the increased cost of the thing, it was designed in 1983 and was designed for a role that no longer is there, id rather the RAF wait a while and buy the F35, which is a real replacement for the harriers that we still have in service and all its limitations, also i would rather have had use in the F22 program than the Eurofighter one, because the cost for use to contribute would have been alot less and thus could have been redirected to other parts of the military instead of going billions over the development cost along with it being over 60 months late.

Yea i used to have a .jpeg of the different loadouts on the pylons that would have proved usefull in this situation.
-
Well i hope this won't be the same as the EuroFighter and end up useless.Eurofighter useless? Â
How do you figure that?It has been ordered by Britain, Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria, Greece and Singapore. All in all over 1000 aircraft.
only because it would be just as expensive to pull out of the deal than it would be to just keep it in service, it outdated, bloated program that has COST way to much over budget, its a cold War relic designed for an enemy we no longer face, The RAF don't even want it in the numbers we have ordered if at all.

Eurocopter's future heavy lift helicopter: the HTH.
History
The German army aviation command has, together with the French DGA, defined the basic requirements for a new heavy transport helicopter. These were also cross-checked with the NATO Landgroup 10 specifications.
Thus, Eurocopter started preliminary studies for a successor to the German army CH-53G helicopters in about 2003. In the spring of 2004 it was said that there are no German funds available for the programme for now.
A new HTH could be available around 2015 – 2020.
Remarks
For long-range airborne operations, NATO nations will need a new heavy lift helicopter to replace types like the CH-53G or the Chinook. Eurocopter is proposing a new design concept that will boost capabilities.
Among the loads will be the Dingo personell carrier.
In the spring of 2004, Eurocopter stated that the HTH would be ideal for international cooperation. Especially, a transatlantic partnership would be preferable, to bring costs down.
Eurocopter proposed to contribute high-tech components like fly-by-wire or fly-by-light, digital flight control systems, glass cockpit and composite structures. An aim would be to use existing test and training equipment from the Tiger and NH90 programmes

If Nato where staioned of the Islands, surely there would be US patriot sites dotted around the island, but yea id say the FDF AA mounted on the T55 turret would be best along with probally Shilkas.
-
Ah good to know.
-
yea i realised they were buildings, (due to the sizes of the units you have to make em out of 2 or more sections (like the Hermes)) but i was just wondering if you got them to work well without hitting the ship by accident because an Argie AC swung round the other side.
Me i just love this mod being British and all.
-
anyone who like Dawn of War, there is a internal beta for you peeps to sign up to just check

/drools,
how are the ships going at the moment, are the Turrets and self defence stuff working?

im pretty sure thats done for secuirity reasons, same reason why the judge has his face blurred out.Nope, they said that they censored him to prevent him from holding political speeches.
In one way, I can understand that, but bottom line I think it was the most moronic thing they could have done. It will only spread rumors and look like they are trying to hide something (well, which they are actually).
well if thats the reason then, thats rather sad.
-
ooo i can't wait till you show us some more screenshots.

Defiant Saddam appears in court [bBC]
They censored all the sound, so the video is pretty useless. So much for transparency, eh?
im pretty sure thats done for secuirity reasons, same reason why the judge has his face blurred out.
