Really? So humanitarian aid has not been affected by the war in Iraq? Why don't you tell that to the hunger victims of africa screaming desperately for attention and aid when all we do is watching fights in Iraq during prime time! Maybe you haven't been following the news the last two years because there has been a lot of focus not on hunger catastrophies in africa but the lack of attention given to it! Yes, pathetic maybe - and also feeling a little bit guilty - as most people should in western europe and north america. Because it is a fact that natural disasters and hunger catastrophies don't get the propper attention these days! Thats all true, but one thing, Iraq has nothing to do with that, the western Media has always paid lip service to Asia and Africa when it comes to humanitarian issues it's nothing new, that does not mean governments are doing nothing or other NGO's, it has nothing to do with Iraq. Sudan anyone? unless the Iraq war was going on back then there was little on it tbh, the media will always find alternate news because who want's to hear about africans starving when you hear about small children having a good crimbo or a rail crash?

Yea because it's not as though my entire second year history study is on the clusterfuck that was the Us foreign policy and containing communism in Asia, just because one posts on an internet forum with a little knowledge does not mean he has copied and pasted from a website. ARVN in general gave up because many felt the US could do it better and where disillusioned with diems corrupt regime. Vietnam was not about Good Vs Evil, it was a civil war which the US failed to understand and should never have got involved in.

National Liberation Front was the original Name of the VC, but the US labelled all opposition as VC (Vietnamese Communist which is what vietcong mean i think) the NLF was made of 12 different interest groups including Bhuddists, the imilations (sp?) that happened in 63? they were part of the NLF, the NLF or VC where mainly against Diem while the Vietminh (NVA) used the VC to fight the US and supplied them to do it.

Actually the Vietminh saw it as a civil conflict whereas the Vitcong A.K.A the NLF where more anti Diem at start and then guilt by association where anti US later, while the Vietminh saw them as an ally and supplied them. Sorry for the late reply.

what i found great was the physics brought out new gameplay, eg. when you had to open the gate using batteries some never bothered and just made a ramp using the grav gun. excellent game i say and i can't wait for the mods, i'm even enjoying CS:S atm

You dont have to update the game, there is an option not to update built into steam, alsow ith levels loading that is not steams fault also steam downloading patches should not affect your HL2 game. They were just scripted for E3, some say would "faked" - this caused quite bit of discussion all over net when that stolen version of HL2 leaked out last year. The tentacle was not included due to AI problems + gameplay isssues, Most of the videos where test beds for how the game was progressing ie the strider vid was a test for Strider AI and how it was implemented, the issues that you said about where over how much game content was actually in the game.

psst steam has an inbuilt feature to creat back up's for your games, it compresses them into exe's in either CD size or DVD size formats. ps Half-Life 2 is probally the best gaming experience ever (not finished yet)

Well the reason that steam prices are either higher or the same has Retails is because valve is contractually abliged to VUI to set the prices as they are so don't complain about it. We will see if Steam makes Games cheaper, i hope so. In the current climate of buying retail $7 goes to the developer, in steam it's more like $30, which is always a good thing. It's asking you to register your CD key ONCE during instillation, the unlocking part has nothing to do with the Internet, so what is so intrusive? it does not ask for personal details only that you register your CD key to your Steam account i really don't see what the big fuss is all about, once you have registered your CD key you can just go in to offline mode and play all you wan't without steam connecting to the net. Best content delivery system there is, why wait for months to get a map fix or a big fix when it can be streamed to you when they fix it.
